Good tips here thanks...

I use the JEFIT PRO app for my droid. It's got just about any exercise you can think of with little cartoon gif examples you can view on your phone. In addition to this, it explains the exercise in detail if you want to read about it. And last, it allows you to download routines from the site and make your own. So when you…

I just bought a TRX for my house, did the first session this past Saturday and it kicked my butt. I'm still sore today! So, I can see it's going to be great for sure. There are like 300 different exercises you can do on that thing. I can't wait to get un-sore so I can do it again!

What Azdak says here makes complete sense! When I tested my HRM with strength training it said I burned 400 some calories. I just didn't believe that could possibly be right. I checked what MFP said and it was only 130 calories which seemed more realistic to me. So, I now follow that.
-
I do this too. I put on my HRM and I jog in place as I put laundry on the hangers. :D

We have a personal trainer at my work and I asked her what can I do at home besides dumbells, etc. She introduced me to TRX training and I have just recently bought one and so far I am loving it. Look it up on youtube, there are like 300 different exercises you can do with it. http://www.trxtraining.com/ -- it looks easy,…

If you eat perfectly without any processed food then sure, you don't need to count anything. I can eat a plate of veggies for lunch and I'm stuffed at the end of the meal and I've only consumed 100 calories or so. And that's a big plate of veggies!!! But, if you eat other food along with it you could easily go over so you…

Interesting I never thought about it before but yeah this happens to me too. In my "previous life," I used to eat cheetos and soda in the evenings and maybe other stuff too. Now I sit here and eat nothing because I feel fine. Sometimes I think, should I eat because I'm so far under my calorie goal? I just don't really…

Well according to Amazon it should last two years.. Really? http://www.amazon.com/Timex-Digital-Heart-Monitor-Sensor/dp/tech-data/B000I83P10/ref=de_a_smtd I guess only time will tell. In the meanwhile, I'll try to preserve the use of it as I'm sure it wasn't designed to be running 16 hours a day.
-
Nope! But I suppose I could twist it so the sensors are no longer against my chest which would turn it off. Still, my question is not answered. If I leave it hooked up 16 hours a day how long will it take before the battery is drained for a standard HRM that doesn't have any type of GPS (which would drain it faster I'd…

I want to wear it more often because often I do quick 5 minute exercises and I want to be able start the chrono to time it and get the calorie readout at the end of the day for all these little runs I take. I'd rather just keep it on vrs strap on strap off all day long.

BLACK -- don't ruin a good thing by trying to make it sweet!

Also... get a pedometer and keep it on your hip at all times. You don't have to run in place constantly for one 30 minute session, for example. Do 5 minutes here and there, whenever you can! At the end of the day try to reach 10,000 steps! I make it a goal to do 5 minutes of running in place for every bathroom break I…

I have your schedule and I have time. I find it's best to have your own equipment. For instance I have my own exercise bike so I can get on that whenever I feel like it. That's not an option? There are always things you can do at home or at work on breaks. Run in place! Pushups! Situps! etc etc. You don't need necessarily…

It's better if you only drink water, that is all your body really wants and desires. On the other hand, any liquid you see is meerly flavored water! Count the water, but log the calories... that's what I do. If you drink 10 cans of coke vrs 10 cans of water you're still gonna be taking a big bathroom break. But the…

I'd have to see your diet to know for sure... eating the right things are just as important as working out is. The same thing happened to me because I wasn't eating very well. Once I got on track with my eating the weight dropped like bricks. You don't want to deprive yourself of eating either. It's all about proper…

I will be 40 in a couple months, close enough? :D BTW... how do you join, or is this just a post on here for fun? My main fitness goal this year is to not stop eating healthy and to keep exercising all year long from now until as long as I live. I know that's a big goal, but I think the point is that this is a lifestyle…

I just posted this on my own wall earlier today: I'm following The DASH diet (recommended by my doctor) in case anyone is interested: http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/dash-diet/HI00047 -- Now that I've dropped my weight down to a reasonable level, seeing my cholesterol levels drop naturally is now my main motivation to…

Hi there! Add some friends on here and you'll get lots of support from people... it's awesome! Add me too if you want! :))

I didn't look at what your eating but are you getting enough of the healthy fats into your diet? It never hurts to take a shot of olive oil or fax oil on a daily basis.

I have 620 artists in my iTunes library as I've been collecting music now for 35 years. I don't care what people say, but Metallica is still on top for me. I also like Megadeth and just about any rock including Rush, Led Zeppelin, A7X, Alterbridge... if it sounds good I'll play it. Recently, I've been in a Van Halen mood…

Anyone have the Jillian MIchaels games? I read 2009 version is crap, 2010 is better, and 2011 is like a game. I was actually thinking about these games since she's a pro.

I have your exact same schedule, take a look at my blog for some tips. One thing I've done is to constantly think about what I can do throughout the day. Get a pedometer, and start walking as much as you can. My goal is my user name: 10 thousand steps a day. For instance, after every bathroom break walk or jog in place 5…

No joke... I eat my oatmeal raw with a spoon right out of the round Quaker box! :D If I do want it traditionally, I mix with hot water and eat as is without adding anything to it.
-
Of course you can, it's all liquid! If you sweeten it, add the calories as food.

First thing in the morning before I've eaten anything. If I eat first I skip the scale for that day. I'd recommend you do this daily if possible. What you'll see is weight fluctuations because of water weight. Don't get hung up on it. If you see it go up a little, not a big deal. But you should see it go down like 1 lb or…

You got a Nook? If so pick up the free book on there called "Lose Weight Without Dieting". In there they talk about how exersize is more important than watching what you eat. Basically, if you just watch what you eat, in the beginning you'll lose the weight. But at some point it will all even out again and you'll see the…
