  • Only if I'm doing high-intensity stuff like intervals that keep my heart rate up the majority of the time, then I log it as boot camp. If I'm doing the "weight wander" just working on various muscle groups, I don't count the calories. I just have one protein shake and don't add it to the diary.
  • I participated in Bike to Work day! I've been wanting to try it for a while now, I was just never brave enough, and it went GREAT! My commute only cost 30 cents for all day bike parking in a secure locker, and I burned 500 calories doing it! Will do again, definitely!
  • Isn't it the BEST THING EVER to wear normal pants again?
  • I would use the "lightly active" setting in your goals. It sounds to me like you fit the definition, and I would think it's less like you'll over count your extra activity that way.
  • I'm a Mac girl, I use MacGourmet and I love it, especially the grocery list on the iphone that groups together the ingredients from all the recipies. The calorie calculator works OK, but it's a difficult to search. Easily modifiable portion and recipie sizes are awesome too.
  • Unfortunately, the only way I have really been able to completely avoid altitude sickness when visiting Colorado is to take a day halfway up the mountain before going to the high peaks. Water helps a lot, and I've also heard that avoiding greasy proteins (like ski lodge burgers!) helps. However, if you feel really lousy it…
  • For crunches, you'd want your feet to be able to touch the floor, or your toes at least. The one I bought had a height recommendation right on the box, but I ended up buying a slightly bigger one because I wanted to sit on it in front of my computer when I had to do long stretches of sitting. As for crunches, I find them…
  • It all depends on the woman, really. I'm pretty handy with a toolkit, so I tend to be the one who fixes things around the house. My gift this year was a new ceiling fan. Nice but not real thrilling. The BEST PART is after we picked it out, he installed it the SAME DAY. That was awesome. The speaker I got to hook up to the…
  • I am of the opinion that if I'm going to go to the effort to work my muscles, I'm going to feed them as well! I'm lazy and cheap, so I just bought some flavored 100% Whey powder and shake it up with some water after the gym. The bag makes it look like a guy thing, but it all does the same thing. It's low in sugar and high…
  • The first one I ever tried was the Oikos Honey and I loved it! I bought some of the Safeway brand Open Nature, and it wasn't very good. It didn't have any of the creaminess or unique flavor of being Greek style. So I suppose if you don't really like Greek style and have a Safeway, try the Open Nature, it tastes and feels…
  • I think as long as you lose it gradually you'll be fine. I am very similar to you, I started at 210 and I'm at 190 now, aiming for 165. When it comes to skin, I mostly noticed that the stretch marks I accumulated from the bursts of fast weight gain have lightened up to they are barely noticeable now. Also, since I went…
