  • There's nothing wrong with it if it works for you! However the "fast" days should actually be 500 calories and the other days make sure you're not eating at a deficit. Try to plan your workouts for your non-fasted days. There is definitely evidence to support this way of eating. If it appeals to you give it a try.
  • I haven't eaten meat dairy or eggs for years. Feel free to add me as a friend!
  • ^Yup, that. It's showing what you burn if you do nothing all day.
  • I feel like we don't have enough info to answer your question. We don't know if you weigh 90 pounds or 300 pounds. Taking a peek at your food diary you are likely eating at a deficit unless you're tiny. If you're trying to put on muscle you'll need to eat over your maintenance calories. I would probably go for it right…
  • "You're better at eyeliner than me."
  • I wouldn't use peanut butter that didn't need to be refrigerated. It generally means it's been made shelf stable by hydrogenated oils which yech. No thanks. Peanut butter should have at MOST two ingredients and it should live in the fridge.
  • I like both! Some things I'm just not going to eat a lot of or put in a smoothie. (like celery) I make juices and I often use them in my smoothies. I'm just using a borrowed juicer that isn't awesome because it doesn't get as much juice out as it could. When I invest I"m going for a masticating juicer. You can use the pulp…
  • It would be VERY impressive if you ate enough over one weekend to gain 7 pounds. Nearly impossible so don't sweat it. Just up your water intake and go for a nice long walk and the scale will start to move down. I really recommend a trend based weight app like Happy Scale or Libra. (Or Trend Weight if you use a wi-fi scale…
  • I agree with the suggestion to eat at maintenance or a surplus and aim for body recomposition. (Building muscle rather than trying to lose weight.) There's a lot you can do without equipment too. I strongly recommend checking out Fitness Blender as they have a ton of free body weight exercises. Many of their videos don't…
  • Haven't eaten meat in years and no protein deficiency here so everybody can calm their tits. Eating less animal protein is not a bad thing. If you choose to do something different it's all good but it sounds like this person was looking for people who were doing the same thing not people to tell him why it's dumb? I don't…
  • ^should say a lot of *women* do 16:8.
  • There are many alternatives if 18:6 doesn't sound like it would work for you. (Also a lot of wok do 16:8 instead) There's also the eat stop eat version where people eat normally 5 days a week and 2 days a week only eat five hundred calories. Others do alternate day fasting where they eat 500 calories every second day. As…
  • Yup. It's something you can turn off in your settings. And I weigh every damn day! And I use trend weight to account for water weight fluctuations.
  • I don't know why people are diminishing it as cardio. It's essentially walking in place. Anyone who hasn't hula hooped before with an adult size and weight hula hoop shouldn't really comment. I'm always sweating after half an hour of hooping while I watch tv. Of course doing it for a small amount of time a day without any…
  • Chickpea and veggie curry over black bean pasta. Yum!
  • Fitness Blender is great and I also like the app Flexter.

  • I'm baffled by everyone saying to just keep doing what she's doing when you can't see her food diary. What we eat is not simply a matter of losing weight. Can you lose weight drinking less pepsi and eating flour tortillas and cheese? Yes. Will you be healthy? Maybe. We don't know because we don't know if that's a treat or…
  • I'm not in your area but similar weight/height range and I'm 31. Sending you a request! :)
  • Oh also I can give you advice or you can spy on my diary but I won't bother here because people feel veeeerrrry strongly about things in these forums and I'm not in the mood for any debates. I'm healthy and happy and living what I believe is right. I don't need to justify that to anyone and neither do you. <3
  • I'm vegan- feel free to add me! :)
  • Yeah exactly. How would that work?
  • Also bear in mind that if you're doing true HIIT and going all out that your body is continuing to burn calories at a higher rate for a while after your workout because of post exercise oxygen consumption so I wouldn't worry about the overestimate if that does exist. As long as you don't lay down flat on the floor for the…
  • My foster daughter is hooked on the weight trainer corset and I find it so upsetting! From the research I've done a lot of what is said about health concerns is not proven so I don't think it's going to likely do long term damage to your body. HOWEVER it is going to cause you pain/discomfort while using it. It's going to…
  • I'm sorry no one ever replied to this! I think it's awesome that you're moving to be healthier and not just smaller or to look a different way. You're awesome!
  • You'll get better adjustments if you set your activity level to "sedentary" so all of your activity counts as bonus exercise. If you have it set to active it's already calculated some of that activity as built in to your original calorie goal. And adding 425 calories through exercise is actually a fair bit!
  • I love Silk creamer. Although since I've been tracking again I've cut down the amount I use and use some of that and some regular almond milk.
  • Yeah I agree with the above poster. Don't obsess about macros. Eat a good variety of foods and it'll work itself out. Welcome to Team Vegan!
  • I just set my MFP to sedentary so that it's pretty accurate based on how much I move. But I'm not obsessed with calories anyway. I think just being aware and mindful of what you are eating and ensuring you are moving your body enough you'll do just find. Be gentle with yourself!
  • I LOVE mine but wish I'd gotten the Charge HR instead of the Charge. I'm going to upgrade soon'ish and give my Charge to my partner as he works an office job and could use the inspiration to get moving too!
  • Hey I just got a Fitbit last weekend and I'm loving it! I can add you as a friend and you can try to keep up to me! ;)
