  • good morning. i'm going out on a job in the country this weekend where I won't have internet, phone, be able to run into town etc. Good time to focus on eating healthier and getting a jumpstart on meeting this challenge, I say. So, I'm headed to the grocery store in a minute to stock up on veggies and other healthy foods…
  • here's my starting weight 166! thanks for the challenge. I'm not sure I'm posting this in the right place. new to joining a group and might be replying to an individual's posting. more will be revealed I guess.
  • how inspiring. you look great! best wishes on the rest of your journey.
  • ooops, forgot interesting fact about myself: I'm a mentor with a group called committed partners for youth.
  • starting weight: 162 (started at 167 and got down to 158 but creeping back up now - THAT'S GOT TO STOP) ultimate goal weight: 150 Jan 1 goal weight: 155 hobbies: painting, gardening, writing
  • weighed in this morning at 157 still. that's good news: no gain. busy, busy time for me so i'm havng to eat out and on the run more than i'd like. Have been able to make some pretty good choices though.
  • ooops, forgot to post weight: 157 this morning. kept the pound i finally lost last week off and that's good news. Had a particularly challenging week with unexpected houseguest, lots of drama, and lots of unhealthy food around me all of a sudden. I managed to stay on my own program and the houseguest has moved on. whew.
  • hi robin, don't know if it would work for everyone but i had terrible trouble with a shoulder (two years of therapy and only minor improvement) and arthritis in my knees and hands until i discovered bikram yoga (done in a very heated room). I'm pretty much pain free now. good luck.
  • fantastic. good for you. are you celebrating in some special way? (ps. exactly what i needed to hear for my own motivation! as i'm 158 now and hope to get to 140)
  • oh one more change...maybe the biggie. i invested, at the advice of a mfp friend, in a digital food scale in an effort to get more real and do less guessing. I was pretty off on a lot of my food measurements before.

  • YOU'RE AN INSPIRATION FOR SURE! I've been stuck, after losing 9 lbs. at 158 for 2 months. Trying some new adjustments this week to see if i can see some scale action at last. Great job!
  • hi everyone! i haven't been on mfp for a while but I've been maintaining the weight loss. Life just got very hectic and I've been totally focused on the last few weeks of my bikram yoga challenge. I completed it tonight with my 60th class in 60 days and i'm even more excited because i was able, finally, to do the camel…
  • hi everyone. no weight loss for me again this week, but no weight gain either. Am noticing a major change in how my clothes are fitting (i think from 90-minute bikram yoga classes every day). so that's good. Took my bike in for a tune up today as the weather should change anyday now. hoping to kick my exercise level up a…
  • Way to persevere! You give me hope. After my initial 9 lb loss I've been stuck at 158 (up and down a lb once in a while but always back to 158) for over 5 weeks. I'm glad I'm not gaining that weight back at least but I'll be grateful when the scale moves DOWN again. Thanks for the inspiration to hang in there.
  • darn. i was so sure i was down in weight but scales say not so. I'm definitely rearranging things though as my pants are loose. I've been holding at this weight for tooooo long. At least I'm not gaining back the weight i lost but I think i'll come up with some new eating/exercising goals to give myself another jump start.…
  • realta, i'm doing good. I'm almost in the final two weeks of my bikram 60-day yoga challenge (16 days to go) and I'm both tired and charged by it. I like how my body is toning. My mind keeps telling me i need a break. I'm trying to get more water in. That seems to help everything in life for me. so simple and yet so hard…
  • happy friday I lost the lb i put on last week so i'm back in my month-long holding pattern (plateau) of 158. It's okay, i'm getting much fitter and stronger and eating way better. I KNOW the weight will keep coming down as I focus on eating clean and get plenty of exercise. Singfree, congrats on your new bike. I have a…
  • my weigh in: At least the lb that showed up last week is now gone, which puts me back where i've been for a month wiithout it. 158. I feel good that I've at least maintained my 9 lb weight loss (since joining in january) but it's time to move that scale down a tad. I think i need to change something up. Doing good: •…
  • freaky: I almost never ever watch tv but it's on tonight in the background while i'm on the computer. i just was reading your post on this commercial and then, simultaneously, that commercial came on the TV. What a coincidence. oooooiiieeee ooooooiiieee.
  • hi everyone. went to bikram yoga early today so i'd be home to watch biggest loser tonight. i LOVE that show. we had a kid (well someone around 20 who is a kid to me) in class today who is relatively new and was having a reeeealllllly hard time with the heat. They had to take him outside the class and have him lay down…
  • good for you!
  • pretend your brother has poisoned it to sabotage your diet. you are too wise to fall for it.
  • you mentioned some connection between wearing old heels and your knees bothering you. I'd pay attention to that and avoid those heels and see what happens
  • hi there i think i was a little bummed with my weight gain instead of weight loss at last weigh in and it threatened my motivation. HOWEVER, that's silly. I need to put the scale aside for a bit (forever?) and focus on all the positive things that are happening because I'm eating better and lighter and exercising more. So,…
  • facing the last minute fear is a big part of doing these things. When i did my first (walking)t marathon, even though i had trained very well for it and should have known i'd be okay, the night before I was convinced i had the flu, was injured, was stupid for even thinking i could do it etc. I actually think I talked…
  • thanks. i loved it to. not my idea originally. i just read about it somewhere when i was first training. I forgot to mention that once a pair of shoes gets too worn out, it becomes my latest pair of gardening shoes.!
  • I had this same dilemma when i walked my first marathon. i had been training in not so good shoes and they were really worn out. i bought really good shoes just before the race. bad move. I had horrible blisters and it almost ruined my race and i think i would have been fine in my old shoes. I recommend getting a really…
