"Fuel" not a "reward." Love this.

This is solid. The emotional is a big part of it.

Let's agree to disagree. Please don't respond to anymore of my posts.

I did not discount your advice - I never said it wasn't valid. I was just looking for more suggestions other than the obvious "calorie deficit." Yes, I wanted advice from women my age and that's what I asked for. You gave me an obvious answer with no other suggestions. So I ask you, if you wrote that huge post, why didn't…

I have so much water weight fluctuation that I started weighing once a week. The bouncing up and down was making me tired, lol.

It's valid because it came from a place of love and peace. Your advice came from a "what are you stupid" place. At least that's the way it made me feel. You can call me hypersensitive, but you really should consider your audience. Not everyone wants to be beat over the head, and frankly I don't need to be beat over the…

Yes, and this is why it isn't always about calories in calories out. Hormones can really push you out of wack. Thanks for your post :)

I love this and I love you!! This is awesome. Thank you so much for posting. I especially like "Block off 6 weeks. log EXACTLY what you eat for those six weeks, weigh at the beginning, weight at the end. If you've lost, you're eating under your TDEE. If you haven't lost, congrats.. you found your TDEE, if you've gained...…

Wow, thank you so much for your thoughtful response and your kindness. I will definitely incorporate your very sound advice. :)

Oh yes, I am having the same problem. 5 years ago - everything I am doing now worked, but no more. It is so frustrating. I have a fit bit and have been logging 10,0000 steps per day but I really need to hit the weights. I can't run anymore because I messed up my knee about a year ago and it just aggravates it when I try to…

Yes, I do need to track better - most definitely. Thanks!

Thanks, deksgrl. I've always done cardio and I was just thinking the other day about adding strength training. I don't worry about bulking up so I would be okay with lifting heavy in addition to a calorie deficiency. For the record, I only have about 10 pounds to lose and they are hanging on for dear life.

Yes, I am aware of calories in and calories out. I am looking specifically for over 50 and post menopausal. I never had an issue losing by just creating a calorie deficiency - except now. The same things that worked for me then are not working for me now. Just wondered if anyone is doing anything different. More workouts,…

You are clearly not a woman over 50.

I eat every two hours or so. Small and healthy. I think I would probably throw up if I ate all or most of my calories in one sitting.

I believe there is a psychological aspect to binging. You are eating to stuff the feelings down, and it never feels like it's enough. Over eating is when something taste so good you continue to eat it even after you are full - but no emotions attached to it.

You're welcome!!

Sounds delish!

I love pancakes, but you're right - not quick and easy if you are making them from scratch :)

Wow!! So many great ideas.... Thanks to everyone who has replied so far. I love variety!

I use a fitbit and I get at least 10,000 steps in per day. Sometimes I will run in place while watching tv if I did not walk enough during the day just to meet my goal.

I was diagnosed with prediabetes. It's hard. I am predisposed to it because it runs in my family. I had gestational diabetes with two of my pregnancies. I now just watch my carb/sugar intake. I eat low sugar fruits like berries and I get plenty of protein. Still working on the non-starchy vegetable intake. Trying to eat…

Can we see your diary?

Not quite sure why you are worried about losing weight when you are pregnant, but my suggestion would be to eat healthy (to sustain a healthy pregnancy) and just walk. That way, you won't gain any "extra" weight, but you will still have some energy. You are still in your first trimester which probably explains why you are…

One hard boiled egg, a low fat cheese stick, a few whole grain crackers and some grapes :)

I scramble one egg with one ounce of 2% sharp cheddar cheese and I roll it into a small low carb/high fiber tortilla. Delicious...
