Calm down. Now. Take a deep breath. Let it out. It is just one day. Log it. Call it done. Start fresh in the morning. This is a live it not a die-it (diet). Do not give into the mind frame that you have to do this to perfection. We are human, and not perfect, that mindset will lead to disappointments and set backs. You…

Since I started lifting weights, started with dumb bells a year ago, I have lost several inches off my hips and thighs. I still have shape, wide hips and a curvy butt, but my overall body is smaller. The loss of body fat will make it seem like your body is "getting larger", but really you will be shrinking. I'm no where…

That's awesome! I would love to have a good cellar to store our root veggies in, as well as more space for canned foods and a deep freeze. I am freezing our veggies, but am limited to how much I can store in my regular freezer. We raise cattle, so we do have beef and fresh pork through out the year. Thankfully, my father…

Yes. I was brought up on junk food, and still eat too much junk food. Honestly, it is a daily struggle for me. Most days I do really good with control, but occasionally will eat an entire pack of oreos or chewy chocolate chips. As a child, we always either ate fast food or hot deli foods from the local grocery, so as an…

I log the single weight, and then make a note that two weights were used. Or a single weight was used. Whichever it may be.

I keep a small friends list. If you don't feel comfortable adding someone, male or female, don't. No shame in that. I have only added one male, and then deleted him, because our goals were obviously different. I do interact with men on the forums though, because some of them can be a great resource for lifting information.

Is this about me? I had a Big Mac today. And fries. And a brownie. I couldn't resist. I don't think we are friends, though. That's okay. I probably love "junk" food too much.

I have this model. I really like it. Its simple, easy to assemble, and pretty straight forward to use. I ordered mine from adamantbarbell.com. Shipping was faster than expected.

Last nights work out: Squats 85 lb 5x5 Bench & Row 65 lb 5x5 Hip Thrusts 60 lb 3x10 I am finally getting to the point where it is a challenge now. The past few workouts have been tough for me to push threw with good form. I've taken longer rests between sets, and my arms and legs are a good sore this morning. I started…

I can't seem to get in the habit of updating each workout. I did B last night. Squats 80 lbs 5x5 OHP 55 lbs 5x5 Deadlift 80 lbs 5x5 No accessory work tonight, I had a screaming 2 year old who wanted to climb the rack. I gave up and called it a night. For tonight, shampooing carpet, go me!!

Will be working tonight on Squats 75lb, Bench, and Rows at 60lb. I also do 3x10 of Hip Thrusts which will be 60lb. My goals for September is have my Squats and Deadlifts at 100lb or more. Would like to have my Bench and OHP at 75 lbs.

No, no...it's still not quiet right. Needs to be two trays of filling and only one of the cookie. That would be perfect. I'm tempted to lick my phone screen. If only it were a post and taste.

I know that feeling. It seems like someone at work is always saying, are you eating all of that? Are you eating again? You eat more than most men! I really don't. I just have set snacks throughout my day. It keeps me from overeating. Sometimes the comments do make me feel bad. I just remind myself, they are responsible for…

Indeed. Don't be greedy with the small children and pets. I am also ravenously hungry. I combat it by setting my calorie goal lower, and forgiving myself if I go over by 100-200. I am at goal weight, so am okay with not losing, I just don't want to gain a lot of unnecessary fat. It's basically a mind game for me. I set my…

Yeah, we usually are both working every year, and this year we were supposed to be off, at the same time. Lol, it didn't happen, he got called in, so whatever. He for some reason is convinced we are married an extra year longer though. He doesn't believe me when I tell him otherwise.

Yeah, no kidding. Eta: we did just spend the weekend together celebrating our 12 year anniversary by installing a new floor and deck carpeting in his fishing boat. We are so freaking romantic.

Very similar to mine. I do have a 5' bar that works well with it, until you need to add more than 4 plates to each end. I don't really have that problem yet, but it is an inconvenience to my husband. If you wanted to just get a 5' or 6' bar, I found them on Amazon, search Cap standard barbell. I will have to get a 7' bar…

Not a big deal. Mime are central around my part line to one side. I'm kinda hoping that they will grow in that one cool grey streak from the part line like in the old classic black and white movies. But they aren't noticeable to others get, so I'm not doing anything about them. I also figure if I keep working on getting…

It takes me about 50-60 minutes, on my second week. But I also do 2 warm up sets for each lift and add 3 sets of hip thrusts.

Mine changes every other week, depending on my weekend work schedule. I prefer MWF, but sometimes I get off track because of work, so do TThS instead. I have also noticed that when I miss that Monday, Tuesday is harder regardless of what activity I'm doing.

They do have a good point, I'm not really going heavy enough yet to judge that. I've always heard and read though that you don't have to stop a cardio program, as long as you allow some rest days periodically and eat enough to refuel. Maybe take it as a wait and see approach?

Thanks for the opinions on the app. I am going to play around with it a while before I make a decision to keep it or not.

Hi Courtney, I don't think recovery will be negatively impacted, if you want to/like to do cardio, keep it up. Just make sure you are not cutting calories too much. You want to keep enough fuel in the tank for your activity level. Also keep in mind that the scale may go up a little over the next few weeks, since you are…

Thanks. Stef, I don't use Olympic plates either, and my math stinks as well. Several times I have had to load the bar, then count, stop and recount because I thought I counted wrong. Lol.

I've not noticed too much difference between the two surfaces in my home. Except that when I weigh on hardwood, I'm clothed, and tile not. Just make sure that the scale is centered on only 1 tile. Miniscule surface levels could throw off the balance of the scale. I set my scale every morning by centering it on a specific…

The US standard is 8 - 8oz glasses per day. So I use a 16.9oz bottle that I refill through the day. I count each bottle as 2 glasses. If I have a coke or milk, that is logged with the meal and not counted on my fluid count.

I would second, or third or fourth, the suggestion for adjustable dumbbells. There are so many strength exercises that are very effective with dumbbells or a bar and rack. I used them for almost a year before getting my rack, and I had great results and looked forward to my workouts. For cardio, get outside, or use a DVD…

At 112, you are definitely very slim. Forgetting what others say about you, are you happy with yourself? Do you like how your body looks and feels, do you have plenty of energy, no health problems? If you are happy and healthy, then you don't need to change. But if you are not, then add calories and strength training.
