  • All together I've lost 57 lbs. I have lost 30-ish since joining MFP. The rest was before. I started losing weight in 2006-2007, just by walking in my neighborhood. I didn't really watch what I ate, so I lost a few and began to maintain that. Then I lost a little more by joining Curves, and then maintained that. Then I…
  • Your belly isn't bad at all. Mine is very similar. I still have lumps of fat above and to the sides of my belly button (or whats left of it anyway). But I can see that they are getting smaller. Any progress is good progress, and I think you've done great!
  • I just found Mint a week or so ago. I love it so far. It really helps you keep track of exactly what and where you are spending.
  • . You can still buy bottle water, just recycle the bottles at home. A 24 pack of water lasts me over a month because we refill the same bottle from the tap, over and over.
  • One of my aunts and uncles took this for a while. In their words, "We have 2 bathrooms, one of us in each, not able to move without ruining another pair of drawers. Worst diet of my life." This is a direct quote from him.
  • I lol'd really hard. After I did a double take to find the Irish girl. Lol. Only my arms and face tan. My legs and torso stay the same color all year. :frown:
  • Has happened to me before. Usually I will notice it is because of one of three things, being dehydrated (still possible even if you drink during exercise), going too long since last meal, or not having enough protein in the diet. The dehydration thing would be because even though you drank enough today and are currently…
  • Not yet. I will be when I get home this evening. Lifting day. Probably add some cardio to balance out the bday cake I ate.
  • http://www.muscleandstrength.com/workouts/dumbbell-only-home-or-gym-fullbody-workout.html This is the same work out that Amandarunning referenced. I really like this program. It is simple and fits my schedule, but stays challenging enough to keep me interested and motivated.
  • Check out muscleandstrength.com. They have a full body, dumb bell only program that you can do at home. I wish I were on my computer, I would link it for you. But it is easy to find on there. Heavy is what is heavy for you. This workout suggests 10-12 reps. If you can do 12 on your first set, then go heavier. I have been…
  • The weights are good. But if it is the adjustable bar, you may need to invest in a sturdier solid bar. Once you progress up to higher weights, the adjustable bar can bow and then not be stable.
  • Forget about cleansing or juicing or fasting. That's nonsense and is harmful to your body. Just forgive yourself for "going over board", enjoy the family vacation you've had, and move forward. Something that one of my friends list pals told me once really stuck with me. This is a LIVE IT not a DIE IT. That really stick…
  • That is exactly what I thought. The book he takes with him? "Oh honey, that's to occupy me while I wait for the treadmill."
  • When I first started it was completely vanity. I wanted to have a tight firm body. And cardio alone just wasn't doing it. I was getting smaller, but still flabby and "fat" looking. So after seeing all the lifting success stories, I decided to start with some lifting. After a few months, I noticed that my joints didn't hurt…
  • I haven't weighed yet. As of Wednesday morning, I was up 1 lb. Hard to tell what is bloat and what is weight. But thanks to a great case of stomach bug, I am probably down about 5 lbs today.
  • If you really like those foods, just do it. Tell your friends you like this meal, and you wanted to make sure to bring foods you like for lunch. If you don't like those foods, really like them, then don't bother because it will eventually wear you down and you may begin to find potentially unhealthy snacks to make up for…
  • I've taken photos every month. I don't really post them because they are in a bathing suite or underwear. I put them on a side by side comparison for myself to look at. From one month to the next, its hard to see anything different. But take the first one I took, and the most recent and it is so obvious.
  • I should have clarified that. I meant for the few that I personally know who only shave from the knee down. One of the girls told me it was just because she was too lazy to do the full leg, one of them said no need to because she didn't have a bf at the moment and didn't want to make the effort. Another told us it was…
  • You saw me? Oops. I thought I was hidden well enough. Just kidding. I've seen and known people who either don't shave or only shave from the knee down. For the ones who don't, from what I know, its a Religion thing. Not drawing unnecessary attention to themselves, no vanity, modesty type thing. For the ones from…
  • Loved it. I only lost a few lbs, but several inches. I ate around 1500-1600, but not exactly strict on that. If I would have been strict, I would have had better results. Make sure you get enough protein or you will feel starved. My goal through the program was not necessarily weight loss, but fat loss. I lost about 7…
  • http://www.muscleandstrength.com/workouts/dumbbell-only-home-or-gym-fullbody-workout.html I like this one. I add things to it occasionally. Also really like the thread that was previously linked. Lots of info there.
  • I've been there. Several years ago, your post was me, word for word. You need counseling to deal with this. This isn't about food, or being overweight. This is depression. You need counseling by a trusted friend, a pastor, a therapist, who ever can look at your situation objectively. This out of control, must eat until I'm…
  • I pick things I do like. The curve of my hip, the new narrowness of my waist, even though it is still thicker than I wish. The firmness of my thigh muscles, even though the inner thigh is still flabby. Feel the shape of your newly uncovered collar bones, the softness of your skin. Feel the strength in your new body and…
  • I was a member for a year. I had good results with it. Ended up leaving because of budget issues, not because of the program.
  • I'm 10 lbs out from my next weight goal. I am 10 lbs less than the first one I set, and less than I've been in 14 years. I am approximately 4-5% away from my body fat goal. I've been stuck at this weight for about 5 months, but I'm seeing progress on the inches and body fat loss, so I am happy with that. If I reach body…
  • I want to look good now. On my off days, I dress up just because. For the past two weekends, I've brought out the high heeled, knee high boots and skinny jeans. I've never wore skinny jeans before last week.
  • I weigh myself every few days in the morning. I only record a loss when I have weighed at a lower wight for several different weigh days. Therefore, I have not recorded a loss in many weeks. :frown: But I am pleased that I have lost a few more inches since then.
  • Very sorry for your loss. :flowerforyou:
  • 1. I have more confidence in myself. I do find myself speaking out more and then my mind will say "What are you doing? If you speak up, they will see you!". And then I instantly fade back in the shadows. 2. I smile more, or they tell me that at work anyway. 3. I move more. I love listening to music and I find myself…
  • Once per week. Today actually. I am thinking about adding them to my other lifting sessions, I really like them. Eta: maybe not add them to other sessions, most posters seem to think that hinders further progress.
