  • Try Jillian's Beginner series first...Frontside and Backside. I did those for a month before I did Shred. I really needed to start at something super easy since I had not worked out for over 20 years.
  • Great job! Thank you so much for sharing! :)
  • At my highest weight I was 265 lbs. Losing 10 lbs was a very small percentage comparetively. Only .037%, I really didn't notice anything until I lost about 30. Now, I'm 170. Losing 10 lbs is much more noticeable because it's a larger percentage of weight. It's .058%. Each 10 lbs you lose will be a larger percentage of your…
  • I'm proud of myself for being consistent with exercise since November 3rd. Because of the increased strength and endurance, I was able to take an 8 mile hike in Hawaii last week that included climbing Diamond Head. I also started C25K today and it was very do-able. I'm excited about the fitness possiblities that I did not…
  • I had to go buy DVDs that had the word BEGINNER right in the title! Even then I couldn't finish them. It's amazing how far one could come in two or three months, though. Believe me...it's ok to start small and work up. :)
  • That is hilarious! I currently have the color setting in my hair after a workout! Lol! I've done this before and it seemed to work just fine. I do the same color every time, tho, so I'm basically just touching up the roots. Don't know if switching colors would make a difference.
  • You can add me. I just started low carb about a month ago since simple calorie reduction wasn't cutting it any more. As soon as I switched, I lost 10 lbs in two weeks. For the past couple of weeks I haven't lost any but the inches lost are catching up. Hoping to see the scale moving downward again soon. I'm 25 lbs from my…
  • "Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given to you" - Joshua 1:3. This land is ours for the taking! 95 lbs lost and maintained for the past three years. Finishing touches to come. Feel free to add me. :)
  • Using 5 lbs except for shoulders...can only manage 3 lbs for shoulders. Ow! Alternating Ripped, Shred and NMTZ.
  • Beautiful! I love it that my pants are now loose enough that they seem longer because they're sitting a little lower on my hips. :-)
  • I've completed Shred and the first week of Ripped. They are the same 3 minutes strength, 2 minutes cardio, and 1 minute ab format. Only minor format difference is that Ripped has three 30 second strength moves instead of one 30 second and one 60 second move as Shred does in the strength section. They are roughly the same…
  • I loved week one. Really felt it in my upper back and hamstrings. After previewing week two...I'm scared to move up! Lol!
  • I log it as circuit training but I reduce the time to make up for the overcalculation that MFP does. For Shred I logged as 20 minutes. For NMTZ I logged as 35 minutes.
  • There are a lot of options out there for depression/anxiety meds. Give this one a little time. If it isn't for you, another one probably is.
  • I may be starting this week depending on weather. Thank you, porffor!
  • I want to see the smallest possible number. Naked. After potty. After working out.
  • Seasonique is my favorite! You can get a low estrogen version if necessary. I found the higher estrogen caused some odd discoloring on my face called melasma. It has not seemed to effect my weight.
  • Take some time to examine the emotions you're feeling when the temptation comes upon you. It's more effective to deal with the true root of the issues rather than the symptoms. Most of us overeat because we're trying to avoid feeling something. Handling the normal emotions of life correctly is a huge part of this journey.
  • Love Jillian's stuff! I just started working out 3 months ago with her Beginner series (Jillian Michael's for Beginners Frontside and Jillian Michaels for Beginners Backside). They got me ready for 30 Day Shred which I completed a couple days ago. I also have No More Trouble Zones and I think it's my favorite. A got Shred…
  • My original goal was to be free of an eating addiction...not to be skinny. Someday, my goal may be peak condition. Who knows? Journeys evolve.
  • I lost 95 lbs without exercise 4 years ago and have kept it off. I just reduced portion size. I'm only able to make lifestyle changes a little at a time or it overwhelms me and I give up. Once I master one change, I move to another. I added exercising three months ago and have gradually been increasing intensity and…

  • EXERCISE! Me! Exercising! Unheard of! I've been doing several different Jillian Michaels DVDs now for nearly three months. I haven't taken more than one day off inbetween workouts and I've probably gone up to 10 days in row without a day off. This is near miraculous for me! I'm very happy. :-)
  • I've been single for over 4 years. I've had a couple of short relationships in that time frame but nothing that excites me. I'm in my 40s so that really limits the choices. When I find someone who sweeps me off my feet, I'll jump in. But, until then I'm happy exploring life on my own, with my kids, or with friends.
  • I have it and love it. I sweat a lot and feel sore after. It covers a lot of areas. Currently doing 30 day shred with four days remaining. I'm looking forward to doing NMTZs again!
  • You didn't mention your diet at all in your post. Changing your body is 80% diet and 20% exercise. I actually lost my first 90 lbs by diet alone, no exercise. Not recommending...just sayin. The food is the bigger part of the equation.
  • Single here! Enjoy it a good portion of the time, and don't the other portion. Looking for the one meant just for me. Don't want any others so I wait patiently. :-) I started losing weight right after my ex and I separated four years ago. I believe my original intent was to be more marketable. Lol! Now, 90 lbs later, I am…
  • My motivation was not a negative thing. Well...I guess maybe some would see it as one. My moment of change came when I decided to leave my marriage back in 2007. I had been miserable in a loveless marriage for 16 years. When I decided to leave it, all of a sudden I had hope for the future. With that hope came the decision…
  • I'll be starting 30 ds soon. It's in the mail. I've been doing Jillian's beginner series (Frontside and Backside) for nearly 6 weeks now. I've also done No More Trouble Zones three times...still modifying and taking breaks for that one! I am absolutely thrilled with the increased strength I'm seeing in myself! Also, a…
