From what I understand, a truly accurate scale is expensive. Mine was 20 dollars and works fine but the one at the gym is more accurate. My scale at home tells me I am lighter...which appeal to my vanity so there's that at least, lol. I figure that it's all relative, though. The number doesn't matter as much as act of…

Yikes. So many things wrong with this. Too bad "magic" weight loss products sound more enticing than the tried and true method of developing healthy habits. There is so much misinformation out there it's nuts!

I'd try filling up on water and iced/hot tea for the rest of the day. Then have a light dinner. Some ideas could be yogurt with chia, veggies and hummus, a piece of cheese, some chicken breast and spinach/spring mix with oil/vinegar, a grapefruit, almonds, nut butter, or berries. Then go for a walk. You'll be fine! :)

Take a deep breath. Listen to how your body feels. Drink water. Eat when you're hungry, and make sure you get some fresh produce in today :)

Everybody's different. I've done days where I eat as little as 1000 calories, but that's generally sandwiched between some 1400 and some 1600 calorie days. It's about the big picture. It's about listening to how your body feels. Obviously if you fall into an addictive pattern, it's not good, no matter how many calories you…

I'd like to add, also, I like to cycle my calories occasionally. A little more one day, a little less the next. It helps to get out of a rut. Roughly speaking, 3500 calories = 1 lb of fat. If your body can burn 3500 calories, you burn off that pound. It doesn't particularly matter what days you do it, just that you…

As far as nutrients, yes, you are supposed to hit the goal for an appropriate daily value of vitamins and minerals. I.E., you should try to eat nutritious foods that contain those nutrients. If you consistently cannot hit certain goals, i.e. calcium, it might be good to supplement them if you feel the need. I agree though,…

MFP is set up so that your goal calorie intake is divided into calories from fat, protein, and carbohydrates. Personally I think of the calorie goal as a guideline and pay more attention to what kind of calories I'm eating. For me, I aim to stay under 100 grams carbohydrates and in turn hit my goal for 100 or so grams of…

You look great. Gives me inspiration. We are in similar ranges, I'll request you :)

Lookin good, sister :)

I beg to differ. A LOT of the bread you get at the grocery store is actually delivered there frozen! I work at a grocery.

Refined carbohydrates are not too hard to avoid. Think about it - Bagels, Cakes, Pastas, most store bought bread, etc. Not healthy choices. Coincidentally, these are also things that you need to eat a lot of to feel full. Not only that, but your body burns through them so fast you'll feel hungry later. Nobody's saying you…

I myself, lost about 35-40 lbs and gained it all back in 2 years as well. Life happens! I'm trying to get back into the swing of things and I've been checking my feed daily. Let's be friends!

I'm 23! We should be friends! I'm getting back into MFP after a long absence and I'd like to get back on track. I'm trying to hold myself accountable but I could use some help. I read my feed daily!

Overnight oats. I just put rolled oats in a mason jar overnight submerged in...gasp...whole milk. I often add chia, flax, or pumpkin seeds and a fruit. I once mashed up some raspberries and strawberries with some honey and lemon juice to the consistency of a jam and poured it on top for mixing in the next day. When you…

In addition to Skinnytaste recipes, you could check out the "hungry girl" site, which has some interesting ideas.

If it helps you then you should absolutely count on someone! Somebody you trust, and who will be realistic. But of course, you should hold yourself accountable no matter what. Trust yourself and you'll find self motivation.

Don't give up! It sounds like you have so much love to give as a busy mother but you need to save a little of that love for yourself. Be proud of what you've accomplished thus far. You're putting far too much pressure on yourself. So you've gained back some weight, but statistically that happens to a LOT of people, myself…

Personally, I would never attempt a fast any more than 24-48 hours. I think fasting can have positive effects but I think 7 days might actually create a negative relationship between you and the food you eat, not to mention deprive you of energy and focus you might need for daily tasks. Out of curiosity, what do you hope…

Yay, thanks for all the ideas! I have lots of experimentation to do. :) I do eat lots of veggies but I need to figure out how to combine them with other things. I want to learn to make lentil, bean, and quinoa based dishes. I often find myself trying to center meals around veggies and I usually just end up making stir…

I'm in a verrry similar situation. Shh, don't tell anyone but my boyfriend is a bad inluence on me and basically a menace to his own health. His favorite foods are carbs, carbs, and carbs. He has definitely gained weight over college but somehow has not seen this as a trend that will continue after college if he doesn't…

Whoooaa! This post got far more replies than I had anticipated. Now I have about 40 new mfp friends...nice!! Thanks :) I'm really looking forward to using mfp on a more regular basis since my hiatus. The past few days back on the wagon have had failures and successes but mostly the latter. I ordered fruits and veggies…
