i have found it easier to focus on making sure my diet includes higher protien (at least 0.8grams per kilogram of bodyweight) and staying in calorie count. when i hit my protein goals i am not hungry and my carbs are naturally low (lower). and if you eat 10+ grams of protien every 3-4 hours it keeps you satisfied. it has…

i have been a MFP user on and off for a long time, trying to make this a true habit and make this time work. i haven't added people in the past, been very private, maybe adding friends is the motivation i need. Please ADD Me.

i need to get myself more accountable so i am joining this challenge. My name is Lisa. i work 12 hour nights -- 3 nights in a row then back to daywalker schedule on my days off. so sleep challenge is a struggle for me, i average 5-6 hours of sleep after a shift, my first shift on i am typically up for 24 hours because i…

i have the vivofit 2 ordered, hope to get it in the next couple days. i had the fitbit a couple years ago until it got wet and died (which is the reason i went with the water resistant vivofit this time) and it really helped me. it was a constant visual reminder to move.. i really like the idea that the vivofit 2 chirps…

so i did 100 burpees today - i had to spread them out throughout the day and i decided to hold off on the push up portion for a week or so, till i get used to the other motions a little more - i felt really uncoordinated and slow during the 6 that i did with the pushups, and the rest of the motions was enough for this girl…

any clinic or medical facility will let you use the scale - most gyms that have staff members on duty will typically allow it - or talk to your friend/ family if you stop at anybody's house on a fairly regular basis. --- or pick up a basic fairly inexpensive scale, it may not last for years and years but it would give you…

it comes from the Russian word "Voda" which means "water of life"-- so yes

the only reason i can think of is the risk of injury. Kids often dont listen to their body's cues that they are lifting too much or lifting wrong so may get injured or they may drop the weight on a toe. as long as you teach them proper technique and start them off on low weights it should be fine. it is all about teaching…

increase your protein intake. i found that i snack a ton less when i get close to 100 gms of protein daily. i also usually have a bunch of protein bars (life choice brand) which are tasty enough to replace a candy bar but have 21 gm of protein that way i am usually satisfied my craving for several hours with just 190…

i really like the "life choice" protein bars in the cereal/ granola bar isle. they have double chocolate and chocolate mint and peanut butter flavor. i like them best. they have 21 grams of protein and 190 calories.

i do the Monster Zero Ultra (0 calories) a couple times a week -- some weeks more some weeks less. i love them about 30 minutes before a 5k race or when i don't want to work out gives me enough push to get started. i have been cutting back on my pop and energy drinks but not ready to get rid of them completely. :)

the key for me to understand and start to get a handle on portion control was when i started focusing on getting the right amount of protein throughout the day. after a couple days of eating close to 100 grams of protein a day suddenly it took less and less food for me to feel satisfied. now i can really tell when my…

Thanks everyone I think i want to go with the force next but many the reviews say that the band is horrible and falls off easily so i will probably just go with the one. But the good news is --- my ultra finally took a charge and is syncing fine. IT'S ALIVE. this thing has like nine lives :) so i don't have to decide today…

i work 12 hour nights also -- my biggest hurtle is avoiding all the food everyone else brings. popcorn has been a life saver because you can munch on a ton of it for low calories and i buy the powdered flavorings for a variety - one night might have kettle corn flavor, next is jalopeno cheddar. i also mix oatmeal into some…

choose better food choices to avoid blood sugar "crashes" i used to get the occasional 'crashes' and feel absolutely miserable and shakey and nauseated, then i pinpointed what caused it - i wasn't eating enough protien and fiber these take the body longer to breakdown so your satisfied longer. also i would crash after…

prescription drugs have been tested and researched to be relatively safe long term - whereas diet products such as Plexus has not been tested by unbiased research so the long term safety of the product is not known, that is why doctors say to not be on it long term. with prescription drugs the risks and benefits are known,…

-i work night 3 nights a week - then live in the real world for 4 days a week . for me it is easiest to just switch days on the log at midnight every night - i don't pay any attention to which heading i log things under. -also if i log supper for one evening but don't get a chance to eat it till after midnight i just leave…

i take pumpkin puree 1/3 cup -- mix with cinnamon teaspoon (i don't really know how much) and 1/3 cup dry oatmeal. put in fridge overnight and eat cold or warm for breakfast. sometimes have to add a little water if it gets too thick

i would carry if i could find a comfortable way to carry the gun. More from protection from animals than humans, but my hand gun it to heavy for it to be comfortable. i have been thinking about getting the compression shorts with built in holster but as of yet haven't. i just don't run at dawn or dusk - for reasons of…

thanks everyone for the good suggestions. first i am going to find a running buddy that is slower than me. then - i am going to look into a belt pack to hold the spray, i know that i am prolly just overreacting because i have never seen the black bears closer than 300 yards while on my run, typically the bears would run…

i have a fitbit that tracks all movement/ intensity of movement throughout the day. so i have my activity level set at sedentary and then anything that i do throughout the day is actually track as exercise, but i find that having fitbit track my activity level is more acurate than saying i am active, because on my 'lazy'…
