I quit smoking in December 2006 after being hospitalized for over a week and placed on oxygen for over at month, at the age of 27, for severe lung complications. I couldn't believe that I was 27 years old and carrying around an oxygen tank. I was a pretty heavy smoker for many years. Like 1.5-2 packs per day. I did gain…

I am with you. I gained more after having the babies than I did when I was pregnant. All I wanted to do was eat when I was breastfeeding, which I did. I wanted to make sure my body had what it needed so I ate whatever I felt like eating.

Hello. Congrats on the September baby! Boy or girl? Definitely be careful about your calories and such with breastfeeding. It can really impact your supply if you don't get what your body needs. I hope you are having a better go at it than I did. Mine were in NICU for 5 weeks so I pretty much just pumped. I did breastfeed…

I hoping beyond all hope that it gets small too. I have a flap from losing 80 pounds pre-pregnancy then I just had twins in September. I am afraid that there is not much hope for me!

Hey ninnernom. Welcome back to MFP. I would gladly be here for support. It is really hard to get into a pattern. It took me about a month when I first started to get the hang of it so stick with it. It will get a lot easier. So sorry to hear about your mom. That's rough.

Just wanted to add that both babies are healthy as can be and doing great.

You can add me. I get 1200 calories a day, but I will add that I usually eat my burned calories so I eat more than 1200 per day, but still stay under.

Just wanted to share my story with you. I started MFP in 2011 with the same goals. We had tried for 5 years with no luck. I was obese and knew that the weight had to go. After losing 80 pounds and getting into the best shape of my adult life, I fell pregnant in early 2013 and had natural boy/girl twins in Sept. 2013! Now I…

Hi Lisa. I am just coming back to MFP too! I lost 80 pounds in 2012 but then fell pregnant with twins in 2013. I was on strict bed rest for the entire pregnancy and was not able to be active at all. I am just now getting back into this to get that baby weight off. I get 1200 calories a day as well. Would love to compare…

Hey Anakaren! I just wanted to share my story with you in hopes of adding some inspiration to your journey. My husband and I struggled with infertility for about 5 years before we decided to start fertility treatments. I knew I would need to lose some weight and also that some treatments required a certain BMI before the…

I am down 80 pounds in one year. I have been stuck there for a couple months so really did it in about 9 or 10 months. Here is my before and now pics. Still working on my last 15-20 pounds.

I am somewhere between 5'4 and 5'5. I just hit one year on MFP. 80 pounds down so far.
-
I plan to do this very soon. I have to finish getting the christmas tree up first. LOL

One of the great advantages of running. Just did my 7th 5k(or farther) since March!
-
Congratulations! I know how hard it can be to stick with it that long. Awesome work!
-
Thank you!
-
Just stick with it. It will come off if you just keep at it. You will hit plateaus. Just switch it up and DON"T QUIT! You will thank yourself later.

I should probably point out that a big part of my exercising is that I now consider myself a runner. I run at least 3 days a week.
-
Ok, someone help me. What did I do wrong?

My biggest motivator to lose weight was trying to conceive. My husband and I have been trying for 5 years. We started seeing a fertility specialist in December and my weight was a big factor. There are certain treatments and medications that require your body to be at a certain BMI. We are still TTC with no luck yet but I…

So funny that you posted this. I went to the dr. this week for an ear problem that I have since learned is related to my weight loss. Apparently there is a pocket of fat in your ear that keeps the tube closed and my body has obsorbed it as I have lost weight. Doesn't affect my hearing but I hear myself through the tube and…

Hi all. May 31st is my birthday so this is going to be a special challenge for me. I am currently sitting at 212, down from 260 in December 2011. My goal is drop more than 12 pounds and be under 200 by May 31st. I know that I am going to have to work hard to hit it, but then again, I know no other way. Good luck to you all!

Hi. I live in the Mt. Juliet/Smyrna area and I work in downtown Nashville.

That is too funny. I had to do the same thing. My hubby was very disappointed that I had to get some smaller bras. LOL As for the clothes, I am going to a consignment shop for a few pieces here and there and basically trading the out as I go. Can't always find the most fashionable clothes but I am not spending a lot of…

That is AMAZING! Doesn't it feel so good to toss out those clothes that are now too big?!?!? Good job. Can't wait to hear more from you!

You both are AWESOME! I am so glad that I have friends like you on here. It is what this site is all about and that is why I love it. I agree with HHR that I never could have done this without MFP. It is so amazing to see how quickly that horrible food adds up. Any time I really start craving something that I used to eat I…

I'm excited for you. I just did my very first 5k. I walked more than half of it, really about 3/4 of it but I had to start somewhere. Now I am about to sign up for #2 and hope to make an improvement on my time. I wish you all the luck. Just keep in mind that these things are addictive. I have never been a runner and didn't…

I always go for the chicken fajitas without the sides. Sodium is horrible but calories are still managable. Try to avoid cheese, sour cream and the chips.

I have not had an opportunity to do this yet. I just joined my gym last weekend. But I plan to take advantage of the pool and some of the classes. Mine also offers an aqua zumba which I am interested in. Please let me know how it goes. I have not attended any zumba classes yet as they seem to be a little complicated for my…
