  • If you search breastfeeding in the food database there are several different options to choose from. I just set my calorie goal manually. It suggested I eat 1200 calories so I set it to 1600.
  • I gave up trying to lose weight while breastfeeding in the beginning. My daughter was (and still is) a frequent nurser so it was really hard to keep up with her and try to diet. Now that she is 14 months old, I've started counting calories and I give myself 1600 a day. I make sure to eat all of them plus my workout…
  • Oh I have no problem eating all my calories! Lol. I definitely plan to eat all my exercise calories as well. And I actually have a heart rate monitor that I forgot about. Need to dig it up.
  • Thank you for all the replies! Since I'm just starting out and really have no clue how many calories I've been taking in, I may go with the extra 500 for a week and see how it goes. That still puts me at less than 2000 calories a day. If that doesn't work then I can lower it to maybe 400 and see what happens.
  • I just started tracking calories again. I gained 62 pounds while pregnant and lost all but 10 without exercising or counting calories. These last 10 have been stubborn!
  • That's kind of what I was thinking too. I started insanity yesterday so as long as I keep that up, I won't have any problems burning calories! I absolutely love breastfeeding and don't plan to stop anytime soon so I don't want to jeopardize it in any way.
  • OMG i hate being barefoot! lol. Even when I'm at home I at least have to have socks on. But I always figured I was the weird one!
  • Go to Mypyramid.gov. On the right hand side, you will see Get a Personalized Plan. Enter her age and sex and it will tell you how many servings of each food group she should be eating at her age. It's a starting point, at least.
  • Luckily I was forced to start running outside, so I never really experienced the "OMG this is so much harder than the treadmill!" feeling, lol. But I found the treadmill helped me to learn a good pace. When I want to work on speed, I run the treadmill bc I know how fast I'm running. Then I take it outside and can "feel"…
  • I wouldn't worry. That happened to me too when I first started working out a lot. It's not because of low body fat percentage I'm sure, so your cycle is probably just adjusting. If you skip more than one month, something else may be going on and I'd ask a doctor. But it's pretty normal to skip one month or to change your…
  • Thank you guys so much! jybdrummer: Do you do all three supersets back to back? and do you do any lower body?
  • You guys are so sweet :blushing: I used to do lots of sit ups, but never saw much of an improvement. Lately I've just been doing lots of cardio (running mostly...training for a half marathon) and trying to eat cleaner. But if you check my diary today you will see that didn't work out so well today  But I think the…
  • oooh, I like Right Weigh. Maybe like, The Right Weigh Resort...Losing it the right way!
  • I religiously eat an apple with 2 tablespoons of melted peanut butter. 260 calories. Higher than a 100 calorie snack but it's good for you and it actually helps me to eat better throughout the day bc I know I don't wanna give up my night time snack!
  • Supersize Me is a great inspiration never to eat fast food!
  • I eat one serving of Smucker's Natural Super Chunky everyday!!! It's heaven. Melted in the microwave for like 20 seconds and dip apple slices in it!! A-MA-ZING!!!
  • Here is my playlist right now: Raise your glass - Pink Snap ya fingers - Lil John Love Like Woe - The ready set Bottoms Up - Trey Songz Right Above It - Lil Wayne Black and Yellow - Wiz Khalifa Dog Days are Over - Florence and the Machine Animal - Neon Trees
  • Oh and as far as 2000 calories a day being enough for to maintain your weight, he probably got that from a nutrition label, lol. The USDA generalizes a 2000 calorie a day diet because that is what a person of about 150 (or maybe less...can't remember exact numbers) pounds would need to maintain their weight without…
  • 1200-1500 calories a day is not necessarily starvation, but it is very generalized numbers. MFP figures out your BMR and accounts for your activity level, so it is definitely more accurate. And no, doctors are not schooled on nutrition. They take one or two nutrition courses and they are very basic courses. I am in my…
  • First of all I agree that you are over-drinking water. It's making you full. Second of all, when I work out I have noooo problem eating all my calories! Working out isn't just for losing weight. Your eating habits and the calories you take in help to lose weight. The exercise is to keep your body healthy and to keep things…
  • Every little bit counts!
  • Have you tried vanilla extract? I always use vanilla liquid creamer and I went to my grandmaw's one day and she didn't have any. So she used milk with a drop of vanilla extract. It was soooo good.
  • It makes perfect sense, but it's so hard to forget about the number! Thanks you guys. I was hoping I wasn't just imagining it, lol. My problem is sweets and water. Now that Christmas is over, like you said Heather, hopefully it will be easier to resist those baked goods!
  • Sorry the pics are so big and the first one is at a weird angle. I was getting down with my friend's grandmaw lol.
  • December of 2008, right after I got out of the police academy.
  • So I went to the bathroom and re-weighed myself and it was 136.8 lol. I told you guys I was bloated! Runner915- what are you in school for? I have 3 semesters left for my dietetics degree, then I have to do an internship to become a registered dietitian.
  • Morning Girls. It's weigh in day. I really did not want to get on that scale because I didn't do too well this week. It's the end of the semester and I'm really stressed! Plus, I have IBS and it's in high gear  so I'm pretty bloated. However, I did lose one pound! Yay. So I'm at 138 this week. How is everyone else…
  • Not a great day for me. Didn't do horrible, but I didn't really make great choices. Had chick fil a for lunch, which wouldn't have been so bad if I could have resisted the waffle fries! They were more calories than the sandwich! But I had a nice healthy dinner so I will strive to do better tomorrow. Good idea for a…
  • I don't think so. We'd love to have you. So I went back to the gym today for the first time in forever! I wanted to take it slow so I just walked for 10 minutes and ran for 20 minutes. I'm also doing the 100 push-up challenge so I did my initial test today. Having turkey spaghetti for dinner! Mmmmm.
  • Good Morning Girls! Had a rough day yesterday with a death in the family, but weighed in this morning at 139. Better than I thought! Have a good day everyone. I'm planning to hit the gym this afternoon and drink tons of water today. Good luck to everyone else.
