  • Does 30 minutes constitute a hog? I get to the gym at 6 (when it opens) and feel like I have to rush to get in there so I can get one of the 3 ellipticals (there are like 5 of us who use them at that time of the day)- and then I feel guilty when I go for 30 minutes - I can almost guarantee they don't.
  • I've had that happen before too. Some foods are a real surprise, calorie-wise (usually it's in the opposite direction, though!:explode: ) But I've had days where I'm sure I've pigged out, and still end up under or right at. Those are good days, and make you realize shaving calories off your daily diet really isn't that…
  • www.nutritiondata.com. You can analyze your foods and it gives you everything - calories, carbs, fat, potassium, protein and way more than we enter in here - it even rates them based on how good the food is for weight loss, weight gain, health. Pretty cool. I make most meals, too, so I use it alot!
  • Yeah, mine, too. And of course, he says they look great...it's me that doesn't like how they look (or how they will look, I should say).
  • I can't even believe you just posted this question - I was just about to do a search to see if anyone had asked what to do about the droopy boobs thing. I am 36DDD right now, and after losing 10lbs, they're already hanging low. (I have had two kids and breastfed). I guess they've been kinda saggy for a while, but I'm…
  • I made these once a few months ago, and my 11-yr-old (then 10) loved them!!! He liked them so much that he learned how to make them himself, so some days I get away with not having to cook for him. My 6-yr-old daughter isn't as crazy about them, so I still have to find something for her, but she's learning how to do…
  • I'm so glad I searched for help here!!! I just started working out two weeks ago, and realized I'm in desperate need of a sport bra. I went to Walmart thinking that shouldn't be a problem. Yeah, right! I'm a 36DDD (wearing 36DD in VS bras works) but all I could find there was a 36D. Not gonna work. So, I went to Kohls…
  • That is exactly what I was thinking of too - I was going to say a blanket from my grandmother's bedroom!!! Too funny!
  • Decaf? I don't get anything from coffee/caffeine in general, and decaf coffee worked great for me when I was pregnant and wasn't allowed the luxury of caffeine for the baby's sake. If you're only in it for the taste, it should work.
  • Your numbers look like mine (20 minutes at level 5 was 280 calories).
  • My cals burned aren't that high. I weigh 188 - but I'm only on for 20 min. before I go to weight circuit training.
  • This is my 20 min. of cardio every workout (just started working out last Tuesday, so 6 times so far). 20 min. at Level 5 with a brisk pace was 280 calories burned.
  • I use what the machine tells me because it's a more personal account of what you're doing. I think MFP's calculations are averaged because they wouldn't know what level you're using or how fast you're going. That's just me, but I just feel like it's more taylored to my personal experience.
  • That's awesome!! There's only one gym within 30 miles of me, and that's a university rec center that's open to community memberships. It's only $20/month, too ($125 if you join for the year), and 15 miles away. Weight machines, free weighs, treadmills, bikes, ellipticals, track, pool - no juice bar or daycare, though…
  • I was pretty nervous before joining the gym a week and a half ago - I didn't know the first thing about what I should be doing there. The gym I go to is part of the local university, and they have students manning the place who are going to school for physical therapy and trainers, so I just asked one of them to help me…
  • Thanks, everyone - I feel great! Even getting up early feels good (and that's not normal for me :noway: ) My husband said he could already tell that I'm toning up, and I thought he was just saying it for encouragement, which is nice. But, everything is already seeming easier - weights, the elliptical - and I look forward…
  • I'm not being impatient - just a little curious.. How long does it normally take before you start seeing results from working out? I started working out last week, and am doing 3-5 days a week of cardio and weight training (only a total of 50 min./day as that's all I can fit into my schedule). Like I said - not expecting…
  • Thanks, everyone! I do love this site so far... this is going to be a good thing for me!
  • Hey, everyone. I just joined on Friday, and am actually enjoying keeping track of my food and exercise so far. I also just joined a gym for the first time in my life last Tuesday, so lots of exciting firsts. I'm hoping to get back to my post-pregnancy weight (I know - most people say pre-pregnancy, but I was actually…
