  • A matter of degree, not kind. We're still a racist country.
  • Good grief, if that's the only thing you have to ***** about, you're taking yourself way too seriously.
  • Men who know how to do things, but also appreciate the finer things in life. My ideal man would be a construction foreman who's a patron of the arts. Somebody who can rock old Levis AND a tuxedo - and isn't threatened by wearing the latter. Knowing how to dance would bring many bonus points...
  • Thrift stores, definitely, for me. I do find new with tags clothing fairly often, but I'm perfectly happy to have clothing that's pre-shrunk -- so I KNOW it's going to continue to fit -- and has the sizing washed out of it. After I dropped two sizes I did a major purge of my closet; it all went to the charity that runs the…
  • Regular old potatoes are high in potassium (and Vitamin C). I was told by my doctor that the vitamins in a potato are concentrated in the outer 1/4 inch or so of the potato - so you don't have to eat all the starchy innards to get the benefit. Another great source for almost no calories and a lot of fiber is celery. And,…
  • Sorry, I missed your statement about measurements the first time through. I'd also suggest taking measurements of other body parts - you may be losing more elsewhere. I looked at your diary, and it looks like you're consistently way under for your protein, and over on carbs. Protein is essential for building muscle, and…
  • What about your measurements? It's been my experience that when I'm stalled out for weight, I'm losing size.
  • Folks, white table sugar is "natural" sugar, too; it comes from sugar cane or sugar beets. Its chemical makeup is not changed during processing. Sugar is sugar. The bad thing about refined sugar, or processed foods containing sugar, is the AMOUNT of sugar we can too easily take in. The sugar in fruit is no healthier than…
  • Q - here's a link to a site that calculates calories per hour based on your weight & height. http://www.fitday.com/webfit/burned/calories_burned_Skindiving_scuba_diving_general.html
  • The important thing is to do them. I doubt that it makes all that much difference whether it's AM or PM - but there's definitely a difference between doing them and not doing them. The best way is what works for you.
  • Please look at the ingredients in the powdered creamer. The first listed is CORN SYRUP... so you're adding even more sugar than you think you are, plus the other mystery chemicals. Use the real stuff (half & half) and it may make the taste rich enough to help you ease off on the sugar. It's about 20 cal/tbsp. On a related…
  • Landsend.com: you can buy pieces separately and they have a good selection of underwire tops. http://www.landsend.com/ix/swimwear-swimsuits/Swim/Women/Bra+Type=Underwire/index.html?seq=1~2~3~4&catNumbers=644~645&visible=1~2~1~1&store=le&sort=Recommended&pageSize=72&tab=6
  • Does your gym have a balance-type (doctor's office) scale? If so, use that, weigh no more than once a week, and ignore (better yet, toss) your home scale. RE the whole muscle vs. fat density - no, fat doesn't turn into muscle, or vice versa (duh). But (1) muscle is denser than fat, and (2) from your own report your clothes…
