I had no idea why the people who held up a giant "D" and a picket fence always stood next to each other at football games. Now I do.

I read this story a while ago and it's why I friended you! I juat re-rad it and still think it's super cool!

I totally know what you mean. I get competative with our dogs too.

24...young and wild and free...(except when it comes to calories)

Welcome! It is fun here, a good place to go when you're hungry but don't want to eat!:glasses:

I get what you mean about the obese BMI. People don't understand how nice it is just to be run-of-the-mill overweight for once! Great job though, MFP is proud of you!

Aubie: this is true! I'm glad our school cafeterias are getting SOME recognition. At our (very southen and low-funded) school, "fried" chicken is actually baked and breaded with whole wheat crumbs! It's terrible that we bash our schools when they are doing their best to balance health, funds, and what kids will eat. (I…

You're very right! A lot of parents do complain about not having enough for good food, but still manage to have a flat screen on 24/7. But then again, bad logic and lazyness is a good reason they're low income as well. The kids just need enough food to get through the time they spend at home, unfortunatly.

I work in a very low income school. Trust me, most of these kids are not eating better at home. We can make lunches healthier true, but many of my kids need the calories becuase they won't get dinner.

I get this, but there are people who can't afford a stove and their apt. "units" only come with or can fit a microwave. Maybe their only choice to lose weight is low calorie food that does not need to be cooked (fruit, veggies raw) and flat out calorie restriction. My husband and I can are living in a small trailer, so…

I totally agree! I load up my plate in the garden area of a buffet restaurant when I go out with my in-laws, but I take so much longer to chew all that food! I think they think I'm the world's slowest rabbit!

Are you getting enough iron? You mentioned you feel hungry when you're on you're period, and I think women lose iron around that time of the month, It can make you feel weak and lethargic. I find lean red meat helps, but theoretically a multi would too. I have had MAJOR issues with hunger in the past. I went from a 2,000…

Oh my gosh, I burst out laughing TOO funny

You do look very good! You're even turning your cat into "the green eyed monster" ;) But seriously...you're awesome and I can definately tell a difference!

I'm may have no clue what I'm talking about, but I think it refers to how processed a food is and how much ADDED fat and chemicals it has. Steak may be fatty but it's clean, whereas a McDonalds hamburger has been processed within an inch of not being recognized as meat because of the physical manipulations of grinding and…

Boys, boys. This totally reminds me of that Dr. Pepper 10 radio comercial that asks "LADIES?! Do you blog about BACON?" You do. :)

Ok, I get that things have to be backed up by science. But I would hope people would know: 1) unless a replier quotes their source it's an oppinion 2) personal experience is actually valuable, and emotionally its nice to know others are struggling with your issue too and 3) regardless of what you may learn from other's…

Haha I just finished reading sabout the "negative calories" too. Wonder if that's what the OP had in mind? Anyway, I think its best if we just stick to what we know works for us and state what we beleive as an oppinion or reference a source. That way we keep it as neutral as possible. However, we are a community of hungry…

I agree with the previous replier. You need to calculate your basal metabolic rate (the calories you would burn just by being alive) + your normal calories burned from your daily actrivities. This equals your normal calorie burn rate. This is tough to do precisely, but if you entered your hieght, weight, and lifestyle…

Same here

Unless you type in your height, weight, age, and fat pertcentage on your machine (which you probably cannot) the machine will most likely calculate your calorie burn eficiency for someone who is 150 lb, 35 yrs old, and has a muscle to fat ratio between a male and female. These are averages that date from the 1950's, so…

mmm I know, girlfriend. The worst is when you know you're doing well, but it might not be enough to repair past wrongs. You worry the scale will tell you that! I just skip the scale and wait for my body to "feel" lighter after some healthy days. Just don't want to see something that doesn't reflect my current mindset,…

I like McDonald's oatmeal (without the fruit) for 190 calories. I get two for 380 and it fills me up till lunch. Also, Wendy's large chili is 330 and suits me well for dinner. Fat free greek yogurt has lots of protein so it tends to stick with you. These are my fast and filling go to meals!

Oh heck! You're already bikini ready!

Awesome! I hope you bought them :)
