I agree with Mcope! And as someone who's loss of 9 pounds shows not one whit, I'd love people, even deluded people, to tell me that I must stop. Not that I would do so, but it would nice to hear.

If you fall down 9 times, but get up 10, then you'll get there. Keep plugging away.

As for flavors of Mrs Dash, there seems to be over a dozen but I've only tried three of them. Mrs Dash Garlic and Herb === LUFF IT! Mrs Dash Original ==== Pretty Good. Mrs Dash Spicy === Very Spicy, use with caution.

Yes, but nobody listed how many calories one burns for talking SMACK. Are we suppose to talk SMACK just for fun?

I'm usually cooking for my family of six, so I had to figure out how to measure it once it was cooked. This is how I had to figure it out for each type of pasta used: 1. Weight it as 2oz dry on a scale. 2. Cook it until it was done how I like it. 3. Then "wet measure" in a measuring cup. Most of the types of pasta I cook…

I only count housework exercise calories when they are "more" than usual. Cleaing the kitchen ~ nope, I do that several times a day regularly. Doing laundry ~ not unless, I did all of it in one day and went up and down Lifting furniture so I can vaccum underneath, squatting down to pick up all the legos that would destroy…

I vote for Rogue! What a great opportunity to do an over the top southern accent. I've been to a couple of World Cons before my kids came. Sadly, *sigh*, hubby isn't into sci/fantasy so I had to grow my own. My older two boys are at ages (13 and 16) that they would probably enjoy going. I hope that one comes to the Boston…

Awesome! Both you and your wife should be very proud!

As a mum to 4 kids (9-16), I don't serve substantially different meals to myself than I do to my kids. And I have some fussy kids. I have one "pasta-tarian", one with a bizarre eating issue (likes food that either have no calories or things are nearly without any nutrients ~ a perfect meal for her would be a naked salad…

These board's lively discussions make you want to check in several times a day to check out the hottest discussions and once you've checked in you have no reason not to log your food since you are already here.

Look at them cheeks! Wonderful work!

I look forward to a future of yours where you state: "I am finally normal!!!! Yay!!! Good job.

Great post. Very inspirational.

I occasionally drink the "diet stuff". Hubby bought me a 2 liter bottle 2 weeks ago and it is still sitting in the down stair refrigerator. My consumption would average 1 can a week over the course of the month. Mostly "out in the world" when the water is suspect. I'm a big believe in slow and steady weaning. Years and…

Excellent post! I like your translation better than the original.

I wanna be a slow loser too! (Wait, I am. 6ish week and 5 pounds. Well then. Yay me! ) But seriously, great post. Very inspriring. Thanks for writing it.

I clean for the "exercise" calories.

I totally agree about the "science experiment" ingrediants on the side of things. Scary! If I wouldn't eat it by itself ever, I don't buy as part of a package. I could see using a teaspoon of sugar in bowl of oatmeal. I couldn't see myself a teaspoon of malic acid. My kids occasional get candy from the outside and I am…

Have you tried a hot high fiber cereal with a dash of skim milk and a little sweetner?

I too have problems keeping under the 2,500 for Sodium. If you like "Garlic" as a flavor, I would highly recommend the Garlic and Herbs Mrs Dash. Also, I've been reading like a madwoman the sodium levels in Spagetti Sauces. Yikes! What I've been doing to lower the level is to mix "No Salt Added" sauces with the lowest…

Excellent job, keep it going!

Congratulations on your pregnancy. Now, you need to be healthy for two. I was a pregnant "fat chick" once. 16 years ago. I was moderately active. (More than I am now) I had gestational diabetes and was put on "diabetic diet" by my doctor. I looked at the calories listed and I said "Heck, no, this isn't enough food. I was…

Wow. Two huge stressors in your life at once. Pat, pat. Well that does bite the wax tadpole as a buddy of mine says. Of course, when you laid out your problem, I had nothing but questions. (Is the college kid living at home, are her other children at an age where moving would be traumatic, would moving to be the near the…
