My 4 kids are nearly 14 to just 20. Hubby and I working on a lot of the things mentioned above. The one thing that we are doing that hasn't been mention, is letting them fail. As they get older, they are learning (and not liking it very much) that we won't always "fix" their mistakes and/or "saying sorry" won't wipe the…

I log veggies because I track my fiber. I don't log low impact stuff like mustard.

Put yourself first. Pretend, and I mean only pretend, you are one those foolish Kardasian gals. Take care of you. Put only the best, most healthy food in your body. (Trust me, I am not too good at doing it myself). Lets' put ourselves first.

On my last attempt, hubby bought me a digital scale so I was weighing things more than measuring them. Measuring by weight is eye opening. Unless it is a liquid, I measure by weight. I am charging my Fit Bit now. And unless I do something extraordinary, I just let the FitBit do its thing. So my "fudge factor" is pretty low.

Feel free to ad me if you'd like. Read my profile to figure out who I am. Ex pat in China? Sounds both interesting and hard at the same time, especially with a little one.

Aerobic commercials. When you are watching the TV, jump up during every commercial set and "do something". In my case, I have a split level home, so going downstairs to sort, fold, and do laundry means I am doing a flight of stairs every commercial.

Also food is never a reward ~ no bribing your kid in the store with a cookie. Desserts aren't forbidden but expected be served occassionally for occasions. If you show an American a picture of a slice of cake, they are likely to think "forbidden". If you show a French person a picture of piece of cake, they think…

Bump it up because I just read it. The book is basically a Candian gal with two young girls married to a French guy who moves to his villiage and she "learns' after making loads of faux pas the unwritten rules of how the French teach their children to eat and enjoy food. Many interesting observations, but the somethat I…

The Classico brand is pretty good about saying whether or not it is GF and I like the roasted garlic flavor myself.

I would agree that baking makes some veggies better. I baked diced onions and califlower together with a little salt and cumin (with just a little bit of water to keep the veg from drying out). It was pretty good. Also, cabbage diced, covered with a bit of water, and then cabbage friendly spices like dill, garlic, salt,…

Except for breakfast, (I have a standard 5 that are easy to make), I never have the same things. So my lists are long too. Don't worry about it. Thanks though for bring up the subject, because I thought I was the only one. Yay, another long lister.
