  • Day 1 - done! Just body weight today and I think I'll have to add some weights, these were too easy (I can't believe I'm saying that about 50 squats in 1 set! lol)

  • Hmm squats hey? Sure why not! Are we just doing body weight squats?
  • 3.5km yesterday so YTD is now about 45.5kms or just over 28 miles **the road is still rolling up and down... Juuuust about to zig-zig to top of a steep bank to go down for the last time
  • Oh my goodness!!!!! that's great, well done! how long have you been running for?
  • 2km over the wknd & 4km today so YTD is now about 42kms or just over 26 miles **the road is still rolling up and down... 2 more miles to go! I ran continuously for over 3km today without resting! that's the furthest & longest I've run yet (26 mins) and it sounds super corny but I'm so so proud of myself for getting this…
  • Kim - thank goodness it's not just me!! I'm only running once or twice a week in among my other workouts so I've started counting any running that I do within my other 'exercises' like when I do interval runs with my trainer. Otherwise this'd be dreadfully slow progress! Plex - good luck with your new routine! I hope it…
  • YTD is now about 36kms or just over 22 miles **So after camping by the large tree and leaving after 10:00 a.m., the road rolls up and down... and we make about 2 miles of progress - only 6 or 7 more miles to go!
  • Yaya Plex! Well done
  • Hi Guys, So I've been MIA... Still been working out, but not running quite as much. But I finally got through W6D3 yesterday of C25K (jogging 22 minutes!), I've attempted it a few times but finally pushed through it yesterday :) So my YTD total is about 29kms or just over 18 miles, which means I'll be lagging behind most…
  • the 25 in 5 absolutely sucks, but whatever you do - DO NOT HATE BEING SHORT when it comes to derby!!!! I'm just a smidge over 5ft and crossovers really used to suck! My best advice to you is to get lower. I know you've probably heard those words more often than anything else so far at training, but it's just as true when…
  • Thank you!!!
  • I'm about half way to my 'losing fat, strengthening/ building muscle' goals, I'm not too worried about the definition just yet. I see a PT 2-3 times most weeks plus my own workouts which include Jillian Michaels dvd's, c25k and roller derby training. Feel free to friend me, I log every day and try to comment and interact…
  • Oooh! and somebody said that I was a 'success story' haha, and I'm like 'I'm not finished yet!'
  • I've only lost 6kgs but have toned up a heck of alot & was legitimately blown off by a teammate the other day because she didn't recognise me! She came back and was like 'OMG you look amazing! The face was kinda familiar but I totally didn't recognise you!'. It makes me feel validated for putting in so much hard work these…
  • Dang it I only just found this!! If you need fill in's let me know - I'm totally up for the 8 weeks :D
  • Excuse my ignorance - I'm fairly new to this whole running thing lol - I've never run in the rain & I don't have a treadmill. I would've run today if it weren't bucketing down outside! So wouldn't running in wet shoes and socks be horribly uncomfortable and encourage chafing, rubbing and all the not so great stuff that can…
  • great to know it's not just me :)
  • I'm on 1200 and on and off doing C25K. I usually see a PT 2 or 3 times a week and do other stuff depending on work/ time/ energy. Feel free to friend me!!
  • I read somewhere about a 5K Zombie Run!! Seriously! I really really want to do this when it happens! No date or anything yet :(
  • I've fallen in love with the Lorna Jane just over the knee tights. They get very heavy wear, not just from my regular gym and running exercise, but also having kneepads strapped over them for my Roller Derby training a few times per week. I have a pair that have lasted me over a year with this sort of wear without getting…
  • Haha welcome! At least you decided to go on this adventure lol I'm sure you'll catch up soon enough :)
  • Jan 7 & 8: + 3.6km (2 miles) YTD: 22.1km (13 miles) Keep going on our way to Stock Rd. Only another 1.5 miles to go..
  • Jan 1: .............................................(Leave Bag End) Jan 2: 3 mile walk/ run....Go through gate into a lane. Head west. Leave lane, follow hedgerows south. Cross The Water on a plank bridge Jan 3: 3 mile bushwalk.... Cross The Great Road from the Brandywine Bridge. Enter Tookland. Starting up the first…
  • Haha Plex, I go back to work on Monday so I've a feeling I'll slow down soon enough!
  • I did the same and started back this week. I finished 2012 with W5D3, so started W6D1. In your case though, I'd go back to W5D1 or 2 just to get back into the rhythm before the dreaded day 3 ;)
  • I'm so excited that I've just stumbled on this!! So far I've done 15km (9mile): I've left Bag End at full dark. Gone around (W) end, jump hedge, through gate into a lane. Headed west. Left lane, follow hedgerows south. Then crossed The Water on a plank bridge Cross The Great Road from the Brandywine Bridge. Enter Tookland.…
  • I'd love to be in if there's still room! I'd already planned on setting myself an easter goal so doing it with the support and motivation of other people would be great :)
  • I'm 5 Weeks in & it's a great program... Good Luck!!
