  • You're not being foolish or stupid, and the only reason you're being illogical is because you think that  I know amputation sounds like...well...bad. And hopefully you'll never have to have it done. My fingers are crossed for you, because no matter what gets done the now and immediately after is a rough road to be…
  • Turned up the exposure on the first pic and I gotta say....I thought it was only noticable naked but nope...yay for *kitten* no longer folding onto my legs. + exposure turned up = -> And this is why our hips sometimes increase in size while losing weight...my *kitten* decided to move up in the world. It may take up less…
  • Just wanted to pop on and say those were pictures of all different people (follow the links and you'll see who they are) and none of those pics are me. I just thought it would be helpful to see how the people who once worried about the same thing, look fantastic. I didn't have much to lose, but those who I know who did,…
  • That's a good point. As your *kitten* moves up in the world it will measure larger in places it previously wasn't. Observe my *kitten* at approximately the same weight (cardio vs lifting): + exposure turned up = Notice how my droopy butt that once use to fold over onto my leg, no longer touches my leg.
  • This, unless you're not being as accurate as you think. How long have you been going up in weight? How are you logging your exercise and how much of that are you eating back? I lifted, gained a few inches in places depending on where I lift, as well as a few water repairin' pounds (um, that's not muscle I'm gaining on a…
  • MFP sets your goal to below your tdee without exercise, with the intent that you will be logging and eating your exercise cals back. Which means even if you log exercise and eat them back, you're still eating at the same deficit which is less then your energy expenditure and will lose weight. If the point for you is to…
  • I suspect this. I was 5'8 and 120lbs and still felt squishy and unhappy with my gut and butt. Took up a strength training program, went on a calorie surplus so I'd go up a few pounds, and am much more content, with a flatter stomach.
  • I went to the gym intimidated and started doing heavy lifting by myself and didn't know anyone around me who lifted weights. Didn't have a personal trainer, started completely clueless, my bf doesn't lift at all, etc. I picked up Stronglifts 5x5 (free online) and went with it. New Rules of Lifting is a very beginner book…
  • ^That's definitely true to a point when it comes to getting older, but I recommend giving strength training a try. I'm honestly firmer then I was as a teenage dancer from lifting. This girl is in her mid 40s, here's a link where she lost approximately 40lbs with pics:…

  • I disagree with there's no such thing as to much. That being said, to much seems to be far far far far more by leaps and bounds compared to what many people THINK is to much. And with that said the people I hear mention people who have suffered problems eating far far to much protein seem to be much more then the 3g/lb of…

  • That wasn't my favorite brand. My fav is five fingers. They said larger guy. And no matter your instep asics can be rather good for a large range of people. Even against getting sized at the running room or somewhere of that nature (which can be a great choice, but they also have their fail moments depending on who you get…
  • Never got really big and am rather slim now but I have to agree. And if the choices are fear and 'panic if pants feel tight' or 'buy new pants'...It sounds like a much happier place to be the latter. highjacking a thread that can cause discomfort over others who wish to give their support by posting pics of themselves at…
  • Try jeggings. They're stretchy for the thighs.
  • This could be such a huge amount of things. But the one I've seen that is most common is to large a calorie deficit (find out your TDEE, and don't take a huge cut from that). High heart rates can do this as well, which can be caused by various things. As well as missing something in your diet, or being out of shape. I use…
  • I'm going to throw out trying a pair of asics. I use to work in a shoe store, and they're loved by allot of people. Even though different shoes feel different on different people, this seems to be the universal gotta get shoe. I've sold many brands and they got returned the least. Everyone at the store (with different…
  • all I gotta say is when I stopped the treadmill and hiking for lifting, I got nothing but firmer. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1058488-squats-weights-pain-in-bum-caused-this-pics
  • I avoided the camera like the plague so no before pics really but these are about half way to goal->goal Go go gadget strength training
  • Is your profile picture a picture of you? Because you are most certainly not a 38 band properly fitted. My sister just lost a bunch ofweight and got sized and she is much larger then you and has a smaller band. Do you know how to properly measure your band size? It's suppose to be taken very tightly with a soft measuring…
  • ^smart guy, this.

  • The best thing I can recommend for helping to keep skin firm and pull things up that isn't some gimmicky magic pill or food or rub on this and that etc is progressive strength training. For starters I'd recommend something along the lines of Stronglifts 5x5. There are some girls on this site that have lost a ton of weight…
  • A cup isn't one size, many different cups can be an A cup. I know there's a 36A the same size as my 28DD cup. Have you tried a smaller band size?
  • Many people are anti sugar here, but sugar is important. The numbers that go in the red are mostly minimum values to avoid deficiencies, you should hit them, not go under them.
  • If my bowl moved, I would be SO freaked out.
