brightsideofpink got in before me  (I am 35 and laugh at dongle too, how weird is that?) Just to add there is a group on here for fitbit users, http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/1290-fitbit-users. For a replacement myself, I would probably go with the Zip. I find the calorie estimate which syncs with MFP to…

I can't give you much advice on others, but I've used the fitbit One for a long time. So for that only: 1) No it's not. With the fitbit One you get a little dongle (ha ha I love that word) for your computer's USB port and it will sync with that as often as you want. The phone app is handy because it keeps you up to date…

Freezing things is a great idea! And online shopping saves me from having many an unhealthy thing in the house. Also from dragging a 3 yo round the supermarket, lol!
-
In terms of self sabotage, is it possible you are just getting bored? Can you change it up a bit? Find a new exercise (like kick boxing!), try some new healthy foods..?
-
I don't want to be alarmist (ha ha) but do carry an alarm. It doesn't mean anything will happen but it might give you more confidence.

I have a three year old and still haven't lost the baby weight! But in terms of family meals I find ones with lots of components work well - so say you have sausage and mash, I'll have less mash, more veg than my husband, but son usually has lots of mash and gravy etc. cottage pies are always popular - again, more veg for…

I used a fitbit 'One' which you can clip into your bra, I've found it very handy.

I would be very surprised indeed if jumping exercises were preventing pregnancy. I would be inclined to trust your doctor. On a personal note, I didn't do HIIT but I was running regularly when I got pregnant.

He should go, or not go. Up to him, whatever - the annoying thing is him insisting he'll go and then moaning about it. That spoils the day for both of you. Partnerships mean being honest with the other person about what you want, and dealing with the consequences, good or bad. If you can't handle the bad, then you need to…

I'd try for some iron rich foods like eggs and greens, pulses and dried fruit today (go over if you have to, your body is trying to tell you something), but in the longer term go see your GP and get tested, it may be that you need a supplement or to keep a watchful eye on your diet.

If you have pain sitting down, I would go and see a GP. He or she will also be able to tell you definitively what is loose skin and what is fat - and advise you as to the best steps to help. Sounds silly, but have you tried various sorts of specialist cushion for sitting on?
-
NB this probably sounds daft but make sure you have proper running shoes if you don't already. I felt silly getting some because I thought I wasn't a very serious runner but they make such a difference and they're so COMFY. Also I'm less likely to hurt myself

I follow a programme recommended by a friend in an app called 'Running for weight loss' which gives you a programme of run/sprint/walk which gradually gets harder. I've found it really helps me improve - I like the rigidness of the programme; left to my own devices I get bored and stop. Can't say it's helped with weight…

What I wondered, possibly related, is if you need a little bit more food if you've given blood (say, a pint). Anybody know? More fluid to replace the loss yes, but more food?

Speaking of pooping at work has anyone heard of the 'Caganer', the shepherd in a traditional Spanish nativity scene who curls one out as part of the scene? I didn't believe it at first, but it is really a thing. No poo pourri in those days.

I was on holiday in Greece and saw the footage in a car rental office. I thought it was a film. :frown:

How old is your son? He may just get used to it if you do it a few times, my own (3yo) didn't like it when I went out running but a few runs later and some extra walks with him and some distractions when I go out (he's at home with his dad so they just need to find something absorbing) and he's fine. Otherwise, separate…

Agree that you might be running too fast! I found it hard at first until I slowed the jog right down - then it got easier! (Of course) and I can work at the speed as I go. Also make sure you're eating enough to fuel the exercise.
-
Fit it into your calorie allowance - do a bit more exercise. Give it away to friends, family, work colleagues. Portion it out and freeze it. Bake more for meals than treats. Bake less (this is the only one that works for me!).
-
Yeah trying to dismount those enormous gym balls gracefully is impossible - last time in my small work gym I crashed to the floor sideways (after a lot of sheepish manoeuvring) just about missing a group of my male work colleagues.

I'm not sure Slimming World will help - won't you just feel more 'guilty' if you do overindulge? It seems you're already doing well with MFP - if you want the freedom to indulge without feeling guilty, you could just make sure you're under your weekly calorie goal for the week as a whole - just be a little strict when you…

14 pounds in a month is awesome! I would be very happy with that. Perhaps set yourself smaller, interim goals that you can achieve, weight related maybe but also fitness-related or something else, as a poster said below. You can hit those and feel good, then set some more!
-
If you're twelve days late but usually extremely regular, and you're not pregnant, I'd say it's time to visit your GP x
-
Make sure your calorie goal is realistic, and try to eat lots of protein and stay hydrated. Perhaps this will help with feeling full. Personally I find the 5:2 way of eating much easier than always hitting a lower calorie goal. Somehow it's easier for me just to be more strict for 2 days a week then relax!
-
Are you weighing and measuring everything you eat? It may be that you are eating more than you think. Likewise are you sure your exercise burns are accurate? MFP tends to overestimate so to be honest I personally would only eat back half of those calories. Try keeping measurements, you might be more motivated if you see…

Well done for quitting smoking! If you can do that, you've got this. You know you can do it - find something that works for you, there are plenty of approaches on this forum. Just make sure it's something sustainable for you - try not to go flat out and then crash and burn. 'Hrumph in the bedroom' - love it!!
-
But, you're also supposed to do one very light rep as a warm up, is that right? Do you do that once before each set or just once before you start that particular exercise for the FIRST time?? Is anyone actually doing that?
-
It could be that most of the weight gain happened when you weren't exercising (and possibly eating more?), you're just seeing it now. Are you logging, weighing and measuring everything accurately? Are you eating back all or some or none of your exercise calories? The scale will fluctuate wildly over days and sometimes…

If you're serious about this, don't ask us, ask a doctor. Seriously, make an appointment and discuss it with them. ETA, That's where you're far more likely to get 'a reliable, medically accurate opinion'.

I hate to say this but in my opinion it's only going to get worse if he 'gets away with it' now. You might get swollen feet, or a condition in your pelvis that means you're unable to walk, or any number of pregnancy-related conditions. And trust me, when you have a newborn baby in the house you will be lucky to have the…
