The only difference I see is some photos have a dog and some don’t. Did you gain weight? I’m so confused.

I have never seen mfp credit stairs? Are you talking about with a linked tracker (Fitbit or something?).

Home workouts are more effective for me. I don’t have (or want) a gym membership. I have a full lifting setup (rack/bench/bars/bumper and iron plates, KB, dumbbells....) as well as treadmill, I rower, air bike, heavy bag and other assorted stuff. I am mostly a runner so most of my workouts are outdoors. But for non-running…

Resting calories are how many are needed to keep your body alive if you are in a coma or otherwise not moving at all. This number will go down as you lose weight-it takes less energy to fuel less body. You burn many more calories than that with every bit of movement you do (including taking a shower and getting dressed all…

I’m very sorry. My mother had dementia and hers progressed quite quickly as well. I will urge you to try and be kind to yourself. This is one of the times in life where there are things that maybe are a higher priority than weight loss goals. Navigating the world of elder care, with the added complexities of safety/memory…

Fitbit doesn’t send over any actual exercise data. It only sends over a total calories burned amount that shows up in a “steps” adjustment. That amount includes anything you burned on a run, but the run will never get entered on mfp by Fitbit. Is it maybe a Garmin? I ask that because sometimes Garmin workouts are…

While I’m not familiar with every possible tracker and app on the market, I think it’s going to be difficult to find a tracker that does what you’re looking for, consistently & reliably, with solid product support and longevity (meaning you won’t have to replace it every 6 months because it’s worn out/stopped working), AND…

So...this is something you will need to do forever. For the entire rest Of your life. There’s no “done”. Are you doing things that you can see yourself doing forever? Or have you become incredibly restrictive with good/bad foods, good/bad days and all or nothing thinking? 4 kg in 3 weeks is....a lot. Even while some will…

Was it a Leslie Sansone video? I’ve had friends over the years that have done them and logged them as low impact aerobics. They seem to do ok with their goals. Maybe that would work?

I don’t hesitate but I also don’t care what anyone other than my doctor and I think of my weight goals. And FWIW, my BF is 6’0” and weighs 160 and I happen to think he looks quite lovely. When he gets up to 165, he has a bit of a pot belly that bothers him. He won’t be winning (or even entering) any bodybuilding…

Yes. The settings for negative adjustments are only on the web and not in the app. You can use your phone browser. And as for why you’re seeing a 0 even with 12k steps-because a good portion of those steps are from your run - and the run is accounted for in the workout entry. So you’ll need to burn enough calories to be…

When you click on the line with the steps, then click on the writing on the next screen-what does it show on the last page (it will look like my second picture)?
-
The adjustment is based on Garmin’s estimate of your TDEE compared to MFP’s estimate of your TDEE. You can see the details of the calculation by clicking on the steps line in your diary (then click again) or click the “I” by the adjustment if you’re on the web. This is what it looks like in my diary: This is the…

Exactly. And now I’m just a few weeks from a 26 mile “training run”. Yikes! But also ... exciting! LOL.

My first 50k too! I’m excited but also...yikes! What was I thinking?!?!?!

CBD isn’t regulated. The gummies she’s been eating could have any number of random things. Even if she’s using the same brand, the batch may be just a bit different and might contain more or less of something than in previous batches. So ... sure; it’s possible. Might be the CBD, might be something else into the gummies,…

I want to share my life with someone who enjoys the things I enjoy. I want my SO to be able to regularly go for a hike/bike ride/adventure without it being a problem. I also want my SO to respect that my training is important to me - and as a long distance runner training for long endurance events-some of that training is…

LOL. I ran a half marathon in Canada last fall. All the course markings were in km. I can do the miles-km conversations for 5km units, but as I was passing km 17-19, I genuinely had absolutely no idea how many miles I had left. What is 18km? Could be 4 miles or 200. I had no idea. Then people cheering “only 2km left!”…

I am currently training for an ultra marathon. I run 12-15 hours a week. I also lift 3 times a week and do yoga once or twice. I’m not trying to lose at the moment because I can’t recover from my runs enough at this volume if I’m in a calorie deficit. Normally I have the same schedule but run less and lose about .6-.7…

I think it’s a glitch at the moment. I noticed that the one particular pace (the 12.5 min/km) is showing in km for me as well (all the others show in miles/hr and I can search the database and it shows up in miles/hr as well).

I take CBD to help with anxiety. I don’t notice a difference when I take it, but I notice a difference if I don’t. Meaning-I don’t feel like I took a Xanax or something and my anxiety is immediately reduced. But if I don’t take it, I notice my anxiety is considerably higher than it is “normally” (taking CBD). If I don’t…

Constantly Varied Gear makes shorts that are pretty generous in the thigh and also have a lining around the leg opening to help keep them in place. I have pretty good luck with those. I get the 5” length. I have a few other pairs from random places that are 5-9” lengths and without the lining that CVG uses, I find that the…

Finding running shoes is a lot like finding a pair of jeans that fit just right. It really depends on your shape, your body, how you move and your preferences. There are hundreds, maybe even thousands of shoes that are equally “good” - but will only be good if they happen to work for you (based on size/shape of your foot,…

Well-at my heaviest I was morbidly obese and couldn’t walk across a room without getting out of breath and needed to stop and rest when going up the stairs. I also spend 0 minutes doing any kind of physical activity. I started running and lost weight. A lot of weight. I’ve been in a range from 60-85 pounds lost (from my…

I do. As above, coffee has a few calories (as does mustard). I log the spices in my recipes (I don’t typically use them outside of a recipe-but I would log them if I did). With the exception of water, most 0 calorie foods have sodium and/or carb content (usually a gram or less-which means the actual calorie content is…

When I was in my eating disorder treatment program, I was expected to eat a meal every four hours. So I had my meals as time blocks. If you’re trying to find out when you may naturally be more hungry so you can begin to adjust your eating for that-time blocks may make sense. Or if you tend to inadvertently skip meals and…

By straight up math, I should have been at goal weight like 7 years ago. I’ve been at this since December 2011. But I don’t live in a vacuum. Life happens. I got injured (several times). While one doesn’t need exercise to lose weight, I struggle to eat less than an average of 1600 calories a day-which is what I burn being…

Are you logging what you’re eating? Or never mind since you already “blew it” so maybe tomorrow? If you aren’t logging-start there. Log everything-no matter how much or what you eat. Your body is keeping track. It doesn’t have on track or off track settings. It only does calorie math. So you might as well know what is…
