  • You look terrific! I would love to make the same thing for me.. really helps with the visuals huh?
  • plateau 'nuff said ( which I detest more than 'plateau')
  • I was where you are about 16 months ago. I promise, you can turn this around! I started out with just a few small changes. I could only ride the exercise bike for less than 2 minutes at a time.. I crawled up my stairs to bed. I didn't think there was any way out. I understand your fear. Please try to do at least 1 thing…
  • Happy healthy birthday! Mine is tomorrow.. first day of spring (though it doesn't look like it with all this snow falling!)
  • Here's what worked for me.. it may be helpful to you. Cut it into 16 tiny squares. Eat each square, one at a time. Chew it completely. Be mindful of the taste and texture . When I did this, it simply tasted like I was swallowing glue. That was the end of me and white bread. I transitioned to one slice of whole grain toast…
  • To me, at this point, it all depends on who asks. I will tell those whom I trust. Mostly, when peoplle ask how much I simple answer "oh, lots". If I really don't want to share and they continue to press I usually answer with "oh, it's one of those numbers ladies don't share.. Just like age" and they get the point. I…
  • Best birthday ever! Congratulations! So proud of your, happy happy birthday... Here's to many more!
  • Totally agree.. I saw him in 2007 or 2008... He still put on an amazing show!
  • LOL! This brought back memories. It's not only the colour of the ink that you need to worry about. Case in point, one day my daughter mentioned in a parent-child-teacher interview that he had yelled at her.. the coversation went something like this: Teacher: (name) is a very good student and well-behaved Daughter: Yes,…

  • I FINALLY feel like I am back in control! My goal is to stay that way! Day by day is the only way... No social events until I go into the city on Saturday so things should be a o.k. I am very pleased with my increased exercise though..that's def. my 'win' for January. 6 weeks until our anniversary, 13 1/2 weeks until our…

  • If you love it, you should have some. What has worked for me is portion control. I only buy cheese that is reduced in fat and pre-packaged in small amounts. My choices are babybel lights and laughing cow light. I get some dairy, which is good for me, and I don't feel like I've totally deprived myself of cheese altogether.…
  • Lyne! Great to hear you are getting encouragement.. On the feeds and with pants fitting...that's an awesome feeling! I find that the weight comes off different parts of my body at different times. For the longest time I felt my upper body getting smaller, now it's my legs...and so in comparison my arms are feeling bigger.…
  • I'm in Canada...BUT I'm as close as your keyboard and visiting several places in the uk ( Lake District and Glasgow) likely early May. Would love to be accountable till I arrive there!
  • I am thinking at a pound a week, that would be $4 a person... So, if 6 of us did that its only $24.. It could get us a good bottle of wine or 'champagne'..or, our apps. Or the tip from lunch... We'll see how it goes! I seriously hope it empties my wallet if it motivates us all! I could post a pic of the jar of quarters…

  • Anyone want to share their hobbies an interests? or cool tips and hints? I love 'virtual travelling' on google maps/google streetview (especially international).. and enjoy family tree research. Helpful hint of the day: I use evo oil as a non-stick coating.. just a few drops and I smear it around the pan with a paper…

  • Hey ladies! I've been mulling this over in my head for a while now. I find if I exercise off more than 500 calories I am intensely more hungry than if I stay below that.. it just seems to be my level. I can eat 1200-1300 cals pretty comfortably if I exercise under 500 calories-worth. After that, I really feel like I need…

  • HI there. It does sound like you want to have succeeded. To get there you will have to decide if you want the success more than whatever is holding you back. Each bite, each meal, each minute of activity is a choice... you either choose the short term 'feel good' or the long-term result. That, is totally up to you! I hope…
  • I personally enjoy the recumbent. My biggest suggestion is to make sure that the seat is as comfy as possible.. you won't use it if it makes your butt or back hurt. Once you have found a few, try them out for several minutes each.. that should help you decide. We have a very inexpensive recumbent and have put over 4000…
  • Great job, Angela! I swear this journey is 15% body, 85% mindset!
  • If you can keep to amounts that don't put you over.. then enjoy that amount. I cannot stay away from peanut butter. In fact, I have put a sign on my hubby's jar that says 'STOP - DON'T DO IT GWEN!' along with a big red stop sign! As for cheese, I was able to minimize my use of it by using products that are pre-portioned. I…
  • Ooh! The zoo sounds great! or Centre Island is lovely too.. so many things to do!
  • I agree on toronto!.. It's easy for me by train as I don't drive. Daughter is there twice a month.. She can scope out some spots for us. One place comes to mind.. A special coffee shop that you book for groups of hours and they supply board games.. Might be a relaxed venue and give us some privacy but public enough
  • I am about 1 1/2 west of Toronto... What about Vaughan? We could shop for new clothes at the outlet or ride some coasters !
  • Toronto? Maybe there will be a nice musical or something on...
  • I would love to lose another 55 or so pounds, but 35 would be great too. I have a hard time stating a goal. I would really like my goal to be this : " less than 1350 cals. And at least 30 minutes of exercise, every day, for the rest of my life and be happy with wherever the scale settles". I think it's one of the things…

  • My goal this week: stay totally away from peanut butter! It's become a problem. Hubby loves the stuff so I am going to put a stop sign on the lid that says DONT DO IT GWEN right now!

  • I have reusable sports bottles in 4 different colours. I try to empty all of these each day ( 1 before work, 1 during work, 1 after work, and 1 in the evening). Each bottle is 20 ounces so I aim for 80 ounces a day). The one I crave the most is the one right after my shower, so I make sure to take it upstairs with me and…
  • At subway, I skip the bun and just have them make all my sub ingredients into a salad...they do that and everything is nicely chopped with a thing that looks like a pastry blender. Then I can either have one of their dressings or eat it naked Sure wish they sold some small breadsticks though or a low fat low sodium pack of…
