A coworkers partner had a similar experience when she went paleo. She found out she had a fructose malabsorption, so the increase in fruits and vegetables was making her miserable. I'm by no means a physician, just something to think about.

So glad to hear this! I've been eating more carbs than many on the boards, and it is working great for me. I've tried low carb and I just feel miserable. I think individual people have individual needs - I would feel horrible on low carb. Just wanted to say thanks for this perspective!

Welcome - I'm just getting started as well. I love these boards, they are so helpful.

Thanks, guys! I do appreciate the help. I am feeling much better today - more like myself. I do know both the creamer and coconut milk have a good amount of sugar, so I'm going to work on those. I have unsweetened coconut milk at home, but I wanted to use up the flavored stuff from my fridge first. I don't have any health…

Thanks, everyone. I did open my diary and would love any advice! Please note, I am allowing some dairy, creamer in my coffee (one thing at a time!) and some dark chocolate. I do feel like I'm eating enough calories (I'm really not hungry at all), so I'm sure my body is getting used to no grains.

I'm new as well, so happy to know I'm not the only one just getting started. I'm 37 and need to lose about 50 pound. I lost 50 pounds 7 years ago with Weight Watcher and have gained most of it back. but when I go back, I seem to lose/gain the same 5 pounds. I've tried several other things (including Weight Watchers again),…

It sounds like you have a fair amount of stress. That, paired with not sleeping well could very well be the culprit. The research on sleep and stress are astounding. Is there anything you can change to help you manage those? If those aren't managed, weight loss just won't happen.

Hi Kim, I'm just starting Paleo and would love to help support you. I'm sure I'll run into similar issues as summer approaches! My husband and I are going to try to start conceiving , too. Have you ever read Cordain's book? He actually recommends going 85%/15%. Assuming you eat three meals a day, you could get 3 "cheat"…

I completely agree. I get approached by people ALL THE TIME. I don't get hit on a lot (only drunk dudes), but people tell me their life story in the grocery line. I don't think most people would just approach someone and hit on them. I know I wouldn't, even when I was single (and I'm not shy at all).
