  • \m/ OPETH \m/ I like the tempo changes and clean/dirty switches in the music and vocals. It sync's up with my lifting style.... RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGEEEE!!! mellow RAAAAAAGE!!!!!!
  • I don't worry about any quota... Just drink when you are thirsty. Eating a clean, consistent diet will take care of all the de-tox, water retention stuff.
  • Eating clean is far less expensive than gimmicky diet products or large bad-health related medical bills. Just stick with it. Its worth it.
  • I have not tried IF, but I have found that 5-6 hours between meals works much better for me than eating every 2-3 hours. I know everyone has not had the same experience but every time I have tried to eat small portions every 2-3 hours for any significant stretch of time all I feel is unsatisfied and hungry.
  • Pan fry them in coconut oil... Trust me its awesome

  • This is more my point... SOURCE: http://deer.fw.msu.edu/regulations/winter.php/ "All these adaptations: winter coat, fat storage, reduced metabolism, thermal cover, and sedentary behavior, help deer survive severe winters. Even with all the food they want, deer use their fat reserves and lose weight over winter. Deer in…
  • Another vote for The Shawshank Redemption.
  • Look at the total weight for the package. If it is in pounds multiply by 16. Then divide by 4 to get total servings. Count the pieces to find out how many are in each serving.
  • I don't believe and I don't think that I have said that wild animals CAN'T get fat. I have only sat and wondered why they DON'T get fat. The more I think/read about it, the more I question most commonly held beliefs about obesity.
  • Deer have fur not high metabolisms. Farmed deer are fed by us... improperly. I think everyone is missing my point... I am QUESTIONING not rejecting the commonly held belief that sedentary lifestyles and ample food will automatically make you or any other animal fat. This is because I have observed some things that…
  • That's what was implied in the quote from Jean Mayer that I paraphrased originally. This is what I intended to have discussed...
  • I used to agree with this completely... A few things lately (last 5 years or so) have made me question this belief. 1.) I have read articles describing animal (mostly mice) feeding trials where they were fed ad-libitum and did not have to struggle and hunt for food, where the mice did not get fat. 2.) The deer population…
  • Its a chicken or the egg conundrum... It is your fault for eating the food, but the food is making you less healthy and more hungry.
  • This sounds almost exactly like the TOXIC ENVIRONMENT theory.
  • I also forgot in the original post that "potion size" is a key part of the TOXIC ENVIRONMENT theory. That should be noted
  • Maybe. I would argue that it would depend on what the ample food was. Natural vs. unnatural, low quality vs high quality.
  • I suppose I should clarify... None of these theories are mine. I have read them from various researchers, doctors, scientists etc. I may have not described #4 as well as possible and have not represented exactly the thoughts of the theorists. It wasn't specifically junk food or food additives that cause the "hormone…
  • This is exactly what I was trying ask with the original post... Why is our in/out messed up? Why do we overeat? That's why I used the term "vacuously true" which may have been a misquote, but anyway... In other words you must have improper energy balance to be overweight, but how and why do we get there?
  • Sorry didn't have the quote in front of me. Had to paraphrase... Point taken
  • Not getting mad at you, just trying to open up thought to something other than "calories in calories out / everyone's different." I'm starting to think that we give too much credit to the psychological and not enough credit to the physiological. We don't know that if the owner of the dog fed the dog its natural diet…
  • Yes, I agree that working for it makes a difference. I just really think that there is more too it than "animals get more exercise" I have read plenty of articles about animal trials with ad-libitum diets where the subjects didn't get fat and weren't working for their food. How did these animals know when to stop? Dogs and…
  • I agree that a lot of people do not understand how much they need to eat. What puzzles me is how does every other animal do it? With ample food around you don't get fat lions and fat deer and fat cheetahs. How do they know how much they need?
  • The relationship between the agriculture industry and government is problematic to me. Therefore I instantly view any recommendation they give as corrupted. I will now continue to sit in my basement with my tin foil hat on.
  • I agree and disagree. This is a place to express your opinion. I say evangelize all you want. If anything is a fad diet it is Low Fat - Grain Based. The fad has just lasted for 50 years. (Which I guess could be considered a fad using evolutionary time relevance) Low carb diets have been around much much longer and are…
  • YAY! THE GREAT LOW CARB DEBATE!!!!!!!!!!!! Here I go.... No population on earth ever ate the highly processed, low quality grain based diet Americans and some of the rest of western world gorges on today as their traditional diet Paleolithic people who were getting 45-50% of their calories from carbohydrates were not…
  • I tested negative for Celiac and Crohns but I have a sensitivity to wheat proteins (very angry stomach after eating bread, pasta, etc.). For me one slice of bread was way too much. Being a huge bread lover I sought out many alternatives... Bread made out of soy protein Gross!! Gluten free bread... Grosser (and didn't solve…
  • 1.) Eggs! 2.) Uncured bacon 3.) Chicken dark meat w/ skin - or wings... No gross flavorless breast meat PLEASE! 4.) Spring mix 5.) Broccoli - I even liked it as a kid 6.) Allen Bros. 9OZ Filet Mignon - Cooked very rare - Salt, pepper, butter  7.) Almonds 8.) Sweet potatoes cooked in coconut oil - AWESOME! 9.)…
  • Eat the skin. It is in no way unhealthy. Especially if you raised the chicken yourself.
