  • I am so committed to this that it excites me. Yesterday was a good day. I had a rest day, ate fairly well despite being slightly over on my calories. I've been under so many days in a row that I don't tend worry about it when I go over a little. The wii scale was down 1.3 lbs, but I only count my official weight on Friday…
  • I would have to agree with everything you said. You are doing it the right way and now I know I am too. Thanks for sharing.
  • I am on track to lose 20 lbs by Thanksgiving. I would suggest finding a physical activity that you enjoy but that also challenges you. I am on week 5 of the C25K program which basically gets you off the couch and ready for a 5K in 9 weeks. I am also going to zumba class once or twice a week and doing wii boxing once a…
  • The really frustrating thing is when you try to explain to them what "healthy" is they look at you like you are crazy. And then they just do whatever they want anyway.
  • Because I committed to running a 5K and the only way I will ever accomplish that is by training.
  • Stress make we want to eat. Anxiety makes me sick to my stomach. I had a lot of anxiety about a month ago and could barely eat anything. I'm glad that's passed.
  • Lately I have NOT been craving sweets. What I need I can get from fruit. Except for yesterday. A co-worker brought in some homemade chocolate thin mint cookies and I could not stop thinking about them. I knew they were there and they were calling to me. I had 2 after lunch and 2 in the afternoon. I counted them in my…
  • Add fiber to you diet. Choose foods with higher fiber which makes you feel fuller longer. I chew a lot of gum which distracts me from the feelings/thoughts of hunger.
  • Start at the beginning, don't skip anything if you want to follow the program to it's end. It's conditioning training. It's preparing your body fo a 5K.
  • YOU CAN'T MAKE ME QUIT! I WONT DO IT!
  • That is a huge part of the reason friends on here will tell you to make sure you eat back your calories. To lose weight, you body needs to have the proper nutrition. If you are skimping on calories, your body goes into starvation mode and stores calories and water, rather than burning them for fuel it will burn muscle…
  • Salmon is so much better for your health. It's not that talapia is bad for you, it's just that salmon helps with your cholesterol and trigylcerides. There many, many recipe ideas for both, just search the web.
  • I don't have PCOS but I am taking cinnamon for my Type 2 diabetes. I go back to the doctor in about 2 weeks so I know more then if has been helping me out.
  • I started it back in April and did very well with it. I lost about 15 lbs in 2 months. After that I had some changes in my medicines that actually made me gain weight and I fell off the wagon for a while. Right now I am incorporating the basic ideas of the 17 day diet but not following it strictly. As long as you look at…
  • Way to go!!! Great job!!!
  • Way to go!!! Thanks for sharing. It's so inspiring to see other people's success.
  • I thought I was the only one who had the zombie dreams. I used to love to watch the scary movies, but I can't do it anymore because I am freaked out for days (and nights). I like your posts though.
  • I like Golds Gym (Boxing) Cardio Workout. I really work up a sweat with that one. I also have Active 2 and will use it more when it gets colder outside. Active 2 has many, many different exercise things so you never get bored.

  • Sounds like you need to have a heart-to-heart with that food pusher. If you don't she will just keep doing it. She may have done it just to sabotage you, even if she would never admit it some people hate to see other people improve themselves.
  • I use to hate exercising, dread it in every way and come with every excuse to avoid it. That was up until a few months ago. I've found my motivation, exercises I enjoy in fact look forward to doing and have started running at the age of 40. I've been exercising about 4-5 days a week most of the summer and feel so much…
  • I wish you much success on your journey. You will gain much support from the peeps here on MFP. We are either all going through the same thing or have been there in the past.
  • Agreed! Quite often I have to look back at the reason I am doing this...for my health. Sure I look better, smaller, and do so much more but the real reason I'm doing this is to get off some of my meds. Thanks for reminding me of that.
  • I know the feeling. Up until last Friday, I was wearing pants 2 sizes bigger than I need. I found about 5 pairs of pants in my drawers that will now fit me. And by fit me I mean not super baggy, but fitting the way they should. Congrats! Great NSV.
  • Yes, slow is fine. Sometimes I feel like I am barely more than walking but I am "jogging". I have done all my C25K (on W4D2) outside so I have not concept of how fast or slow I am actually going. If necessary, repeat a day or two before moving onto the next week. I had to restart the whole program 3 times this summer…
  • Ground turkey, parmesean cheese, dijon mustartd, and roasted red peppers and its oh so frickin' delish!!!! Inbox me if you want the recipe. To die for!
  • I can't even tell that you are the same person. Well done.
  • Don't burn yourself out. Maybe try 90 minutes one day then alternate with 30 minutes or 60 minutes. Be sure to have a rest day in there once or twice a week so your muscles have time to repair themselves and get stronger.
  • My scale fluctuates 2 lbs every week. I only count the scale reading once per week on the same day every week. That's a more accurate telling of your actual weight rather than a day-to-day reading.
  • Please take care of yourself.
  • Good luck to you. I did W4D1 last night. I never imagined I would start running at age 40 or that I would like it.
