  • Thanks guys! That's good advice. I am using a heart rate monitor so I know exactly how many calories I burn. I do measure food but I don't weigh it. So that should be fairly accurate as well. I will keep pushing through this and not give up.
  • I just can't take another week of working so hard and not losing. I HAVE to lose next week. I was supposed to be losing 2 lbs a week according to my plan, to lose the weight desired by the time I go home for Christmas. Not losing for 2 weeks has really messed up my plan....
  • Is it possible that I'm drinking too much water/tea and gaining water weight?
  • I find I'm an all or or nothing person. I do better if I log everything that I eat. It makes me not want to eat a couple pieces of candy if I know I have to log them. I have to go all the way and be 100% committed. You can do it! You can't get worse if you are making good decisions and being healthy. Only get healthier!
  • Thanks for all the input! I called Apple and asked how the Apple Watch gets a HR reading and as you all know, it measures the blood flow in the wrist, but the apple tech said it only takes this reading every 10 minutes. I am not leaning towards the apple watch because I sometimes only have time for a 20 minute HIT workout,…
  • I was just about to post the same complaint. I have been logging calories since early January and working out 5+ days a week and have lost 4 pounds, and have been pretty discouraged. My brother in law is very knowledgable in this area and gave me a few tips. I was eating healthy foods, but they were high in fat, good fat,…
  • I love a lot of the recipes on chocolatecoveredkatie.com but my favorite is her apple pie pancakes. My husband hates sweets for breakfast but he loves these, and my son is a picky eater as well and he loves these. http://chocolatecoveredkatie.com/2011/10/07/hot-apple-pie-pancakes/ Great with a dap of fat free cool whip and…
  • Do you have a bulk barn nearby? That is the cheapest place I have found to buy it! You can hide it in any and everything! I make really good pizza dough with it. There are lots of desserts you can put it in, oatmeal, cookies, salads, etc. It takes on whatever the dominant flavor is. I love it!
  • http://chocolatecoveredkatie.com/2011/11/06/one-minute-chocolate-cake/ One Minute Chocolate Cake - takes two minutes to assemble, one minute to cook, and hits the spot for me! I make it without oil and it's 140 calories, with oil is only 240. Quick, easy, you probably already have all the ingredients, and it satisfies my…
  • Thanks for the heads up
  • How much would you say you spent a month including the extra food you have to buy on your own, like fruit and veggies? And do you still have to cook a meal, like put together ingredients? Or do they mostly come ready? And are snacks included? Or just three meals a day? Good point about using it to lose but it's harder to…
  • chocolatecoveredkatie.com has some great and delicious oatmeal recipes and also ohsheglows.com has some dressed up oatmeal recipes! She does a lot with rolled oats, and has a lot of fun overnight oats recipes, like carrot cake oatmeal, apple pie oatmeal, chocolate cookie dough oatmeal, banana pie oatmeal, etc. I can't wait…
  • Thanks everyone for the tips and advice! I have tried to eat more healthy calories. I will try to focus more on strength. I have a few DVDs that focus a lot on strength and get some HIT cardio in there as well. Might try those a couple times a week, and Jillian Michaels the other days. Finally got off my plateau! Excited!…
  • I am still kind of there with you - my trainer said that women weigh differently different times of the month, without even doing anything different, so don't be too hard on yourself. Look at the time of the month, fluid intake, and water retention. My trainer told me to try to eat more good, healthy fats and oils to help…
