Great job! I did W4D2 today and am loving it! I've noticed I can run the whole time if I pay attention to running slowly :)

I'm signed up for a mud run April 28th. I hear theyre lots of fun-more obstacles than actual running. It'll be my first real run (I've walked a 15K but never done a run before). No info about your area though.

Another vote for runkeeper. It takes a few minutes to input the program, but after that it's great! I like that you can set it for mileage or time. I'm thinking about doing mileage as well.

Slow and steady wins the race! Lol. I'm on W4 right now and have noticed that each week my runs get slower (because they're getting longer) BUT, the way I see it, I'm running! And I haven't hurt myself and don't feel like dying when I'm done. I think going slow and listening to your body is the way to go! Oh, and sending…

Looking good!

Bump.

I keep thinking I need to try some.

I ended up doing the same thing and love it! Thanks for this tip!

Bumping this up because I was just wondering the same thing.

These all sound so good!

Great job!

No idea what's going on with your HRM. My usual burns are around 220 (I just started W3 and include the warm-up and cool-down). I would see what it says next time. Might be a goof in the monitor, or it might mean you're just getting that much better! Wish I could give you something definite.

Surprising. I just started W3 and I was surprised (pleasantly) that I could run for 3 minutes straight...twice!
-
Wow! Thanks for all of the quick responses and great ideas! I'll start working on these tonight :)

I'm doing kettlebell intervals on non run days.

Went really well today! I use the runkeeper app to see how far I go and what my pace is (just because) and was surprised that my overall pace was under a 9 minute mile! I thought to myself "this can't be right!" Well, when I looked at the breakdown, it said I did my 5 minute warm up walk at a 4 minute mile pace! So, pretty…

Starting week 3 tomorrow and am really nervous about the 3 minute runs! But, I'm confident that I can do it :)
-
Awesome! I bet it'll be lots of fun!

As a new runner, I love this post. Thanks!
-
Wow! Looking great! You can really see the changes :) Keep up the good work!

Saving to read later :)

Just started week 2 today. It wasn't nearly as hard as I thought it would be. I'm a little worried about day 2 though. We'll be out of town at a hotel so I'll have to do it on the treadmill. I've never used a treadmill before!

Sending you a request too :)

We're already in the 80s here in Florida, so thanks for the tips!

Did W1D2 today. I actually was kind of disappointed when my app told me it was cool-down time. I could e gone for a few more cycles through. I'm having a really good time with this so far!

Never had a gym membership and have lost 16 pounds since Christmas. I do some Jillian Michaels dvds and the elliptical. You definitely don't need a gym membership to get fit.
-
Glad to hear this...Mine should get here tomorrow :)

I wish I would've thougt of this earlier! I do a lot of walk with one of my 28 pound kids strapped to me and I always input as walking carrying infant, but I always thought that was an underestimate. Thanks for this!

From everything I've read on here, rest days are good! Your muscles need time to recover. That said, I also feel guilty when I don't work out, but my work schedule recently changed so that I have (at least) one 12-hour day per week, so I just take that as my rest day. Like a previous poster said, I'm so busy that I don't…

That sounds delicious! Thanks!
