I've been doing reset for a week and a half, and it just occurred to me today that it is kind of like practice eating for the rest of my life. It gives me a feeling of what I'll need to do when the weight is gone. Maintenance has always been the scariest thing to contemplate and now I'm getting practice at it. I need all…

I also find this to be a bit tricky. I use a fitbit but find that the calorie adjustment, to MFP, is not accurate. It can be anywhere from 100 and something to almost 300 calories off otherwise I think I could just input my exercise on fitbit and use the BMR total. Throughout the day I try and guesstimate where I'm at with…

I started my reset 5/28. I use a fitbit and averaged the last 3 weeks to find my TDEE and it was around 3000. I was burning a lot more calories than I thought I could eat back so I decided to reduce my exercise level and set my TDEE at 2550. In doing that my biggest burns have been mowing our huge lawn, which I might be…

Thanks for the tips, could you check my diary and give me more specific tips on the low fat foods to avoid? Plus, I'm not sure what works for getting that 40/30/30 ratio working awesomely. And, hopefully those 999 calorie burns will end with that one. I have a 3 acre lawn and our riding lawn mower broke and my husband has…

I'm seriously considering getting one too. I currently have a fitbit, and I did find that my activity level was much higher than I imagined. I can't wait to hear how they compare. I am concerned about wearing that thing on my arm all the time too. The fitbit is so easy to wear, but I'm not sure how accurate it really is.…

This is my biggest thing. I've been scouring the boards for an answer to this. I get eating more and to my TDEE - 15%, but I don't get how to do that and not go over on macros. Are we just supposed to focus on the Carbs, Fat to Protein ratio and eat healthy beyond that? I can't keep my sugars down and eat yogurt or more…

Even though I have an HRM and food scale which I find extremely important, I find that I'm constantly boosting my activity level throughout the entire day by using my fitbit. It tracks my walks and even my hikes pretty well. Of course, when I go shopping or walk around at all, that's covered too. It's encouraged me to walk…

I have Runkeeper. Keeps track of lots of activities.

I believe any activity is burning calories, you might not get really toned though. Something I used to do for getting a little bit of toning was to do lifts with canned foods while I was cooking oatmeal or coco wheats at the stove. While I was stirring I would do side leg lifts, bicep curls, inner thigh lifts, etc. Now I…

You look fantabulous and soooo happy! Very inspiring! Keep going strong!

Well said!!!

I just started this, but am confused about doing this everyday. There is weight lifting in this and so I'm curious about letting my muscles repair for a day in between, but if not, I want to be diligent and do it as it was designed. Just not sure...

You've come to the right place. If you avail yourself of all the possibilities of this site, you can be successful. Walking along side of your children can help you in this journey as well. Start walking together, you could even find pretty sites to walk in as slow as you need and you can sit down and enjoy the view when…

That's terrific!! I look forward to the day I can do that too. I'm half and half right now.

Thanks for the info. I think I might enjoy it more this year. Last year I got pretty exhausted walking around, but I don't have that problem anymore. Also, I'm eating lots more veggies. Yeah, it would be great to have more announcements of active/healthy things going on in the area.

Hi! I don't know why I never looked for a homeschooling group on here. I'm Daphne and have been homeschooling a very long time. I've become very relaxed over the years. My nine kids range in age from 8 to 26, six are still at home. I usually lost the weight after each one, not as low as I could go but have found it more…

No, the fitbit isn't an HRM, but I get concerned about the calories that we burn above and beyond the activity level that we think we are. I gain quite a few calories from extra activity (from my fitbit calorie adjustment) and wonder how others can figure out their true deficit. Using the fitbit and HRM, I find that when I…

What is contributing most for me is building activity into my day and week. I've started walking my dog twice a day. I've also started rollerskating with my kids every other week, I plan to sign up for weekly volleyball. I think that just being more active makes me feel better and doing things throughout the day continue…

Well, I don't think it would be that bad. The tube slides right up into the other part and it comes with a ziploc bag to store it in your pack. I figured I'd just rinse it off with some water before putting it back in. I've never heard of the She Wee. Tell me more.

Here's the link from REI. I actually purchased it at one of their stores. http://www.rei.com/product/407267/sani-fem-freshette-feminine-urinary-director

Thanks Emily. I forgot to mention in the original post that I do track my calories burned with an HRM and fitbit to get as close to the actual as possible.

You look so happy. I so appreciate you sharing your success. It really helps to keep the confidence that we too will succeed.

I am!!

That's what I was thinking. What have you been doing so far? It looks like you've been losing. Maybe at this point, you should just be tracking your intake and see how that goes.

I'm just becoming addicted to activity. I never used to be. I used to be addicted to sitting on my butt. I appreciate the change and look forward to using my rest day for getting a lot done around the house.

I totally resisted exercise. If my heart rate was going up, I wanted to stop whatever I was doing to get it there. I didn't really put it all together, heart rate rising, good thing! I got myself a heart rate monitor and found that realistically tracking it gave me more control. It kind of feels like putting money in the…

When I checked with my doctor about my levels here on MFP, he said they all looked good except that the fiber goal was a little low.

I have a fitbit and I definitely find it useful. I can or used to be pretty sedentary. The days I don't leave the house, I don't necessarily burn very many calories that aren't from a workout, but when I go out, I get a nice calorie adjustment. I find that I can gain or not lose very much when my calorie deficit is very…
