You need to report this behavior to your supervisor. You should not have to tolerate that kind of behavior at work. Any retaliation would just get the person more in trouble, so don't worry about that too much. You need to stand up for yourself. I think you will feel better if you do. Part of why situations like this cause…

I love these, too. Even the low fat kind is excellent, and I generally do not like low fat cheese. Thanks for telling us about the coupon!

I enjoy certain classes at my gym (Zumba, cardio barre, kettlebells, a circuit training class called Sweat-- it also depends on the instructor and the music), pilates equipment classes, iyengar yoga, biking (outdoors), swimming. Specific exercises I like-- lower body stuff because that is what I need! I enjoy squats and…

I weigh most things. I am very skilled at accurately eyeballing meat portions and things like rice. I am not good at eyeballing fruits and vegetables. Their weights vary too much. So I weigh them when possible, especially fruits because they are usually more caloric.

My trainer said my goal should be 150 (based on body fat percentage according to a machine), and my doctor said not to go below 150. (The last time I was at 150 he told me not to lose any more weight.) However, I think I would be happier a little below that because when I weighed 150 before I still had a little more chub…

I think it is, too. She might be suffering from body dysphoria and seeing something that's not really there. She needs to focus on something else. Plus a number on tag doesn't mean much.

That is true and is why I told her to stop worrying about losing weight and changing sizes.

My Jawbone is currently out of commission, but I will get a new one very soon, hopefully by the end of the month. I'd love some more Jawbone friends-- I only have two! Most people I know prefer Fitbit. My email address is lynn.murray@gmail.com.

I'm late to the party, and I don't have twenty pounds to lose, but I'd like to join this group for more motivation if that is OK. Current weight: 160 Goal for Easter: 150 Ultimate Goal Weight: not sure-- maybe 145?

I am 5'7" Age: 44 Heaviest: 210 Current: 160 Goal: 145-150 Current body fat: 27-28% Dream body fat: 20-22% I have an "hourglass" type figure. So far as weight training / toning goes, I am working mostly on lower body at this time.

Perhaps you have wide hips. One of my friends is much thinner than I am, but wears a larger size than I do because of to her bone structure. Bottom line, don't worry about the size, and don't worry about what others think. There are myraid reasons why people may not comment on your weight. You look good the way you are,…

You could track the hip/waist ratio on MFP as a custom measurement, but you can't do a comparative chart. Otherwise I would suggest using Excel or some other spreadsheet program, still with a graph, with one line for fat percentage and another for hip/waist ratio. A third line for weight would be good to include as well. A…

I do Pilates on Pilates equipment and noticed big improvements in strength and functionality, much more so than I did with traditional strength training. I can now do chaturanga dandasana, and am much stronger in handstand and some of the other yoga poses. Plus overall my form has improved, and knee pain has reduced. So I…

I second all the comments above as to why people haven't commented on your weight loss. Going forward, don't try to lose any more weight. Instead, exercise more and start a weightlifting regimen. Three reasons-- (1) doing so eventually might give you the look you want; (2) it will give you something else to focus on (you…

Sizes above 10 or so have more room between them, like 1.5-2 inches between sizes, whereas size 10 and below the difference between sizes is one inch. So as you lose more weight, you will drop sizes more quickly. For me, once I am a size 10, it takes about 7-8 pounds to drop a size. Before then, around 15.

I have chocolate every day. However, one deal I have with myself is that my daily chocolate is dark. Dark chocolate has such a strong flavor I only need a few squares to satisfy me. (My absolute favorite kind is Chocolove Orange Peel in Dark Chocolate.) I very rarely have other types of chocolate, generally speaking only…

I'm curious as to what people who say this think addiction means. Addiction is not the same thing as physical dependence. Someone can be physically dependent, but not addicted, and vice versa. I do agree that the term addiction is sometimes used too lightly, but I also think that many people think that physical dependence…

Top-heavy hourglass. Inverted triangle shapes don't have the waist/hip ratio you do. I don't know why you're asking, but if it is because you wonder about what clothing would flatter, go with the suggestions made for hourglass figures. Definitely not a banana figure, aka rectangle. That is where the waist is not much…

Exactly. If you have slim hips and thighs, you don't need relaxed fit jeans.
-
That is probably too light for a man who is 5'8". You should probably just work on adding muscle.

It depends on whether you count light exercise like pilates and yoga. I usually take one class of each every week, sometimes two. I also aim for a minimum of three cardio sessions at my gym per my allergist's "prescription." If the weather is nice on the weekend, I'll bike outdoors as well. I usually do weight training the…

What is up with this person? She keeps de-activating, and then re-activates in order to say something combative, and then de-activates again? By the way, a lot of my friends are graduates of the Culinary Institute of America, which is the top culinary school in the country. They also learned what I did about frozen…
-
Indeed. She probably wasted her money on that culinary class. I wonder what other mis-information was spread?

JustinAnimal and Adowe are correct. Frozen vegetables can be more nutritious than fresh. JustinAnimal is correct as to the reason why-- frozen vegetables are frozen within hours of being picked, whereas fresh sit for a while before you buy them because they have to be transported, probably sit in the store a day or two…

2 or 3 pounds a day is not sustainable for long. You should be aiming for more like two pounds a week.

It all just depends on her hormones and genetics. Skinny women can be busty. My junior year in college I was 5'6" and weighed 130 and wore a 32DD bra. I was a little chubby (for me, body composition issues, I guess I was skinny fat) at the time. I lost weight-- too much, all of my ribs were visible. At my lowest I weighed…

I agree. I shared your statement on Facebook and also with my boss who loves inspirational quotes. She put it on her bulletin board. It's a great line. And that's a great picture of you and your lovely wife! Thank you for adding it-- it adds to your story.

amen!

Of course it is. I really hate naysayers in general, not just when it comes to weight loss. It might be more difficult at 40+ than it was at 20, but it is not as if your metabolism completely shuts down. It is a little slower, but only a little. I gained 65 pounds from around 32-35, lost it when I was 40, then gained some…

Absolutely. This thread made me think of a line from one of the success stories: "Don't start tomorrow. I spent ten years starting tomorrow. Start today." If you want to do something, start now. Tomorrow's not going to make it any easier.
