  • The best way is to cook dishes for ten. Otherwise there's nothing left to freeze! Make large batches of chili, soups, rice or pasta casseroles (lasagna!).... Just nothing with potatoes, unless you blanch them first. After your dish has cooled, divide into individual portions and freeze.
  • Orange Dulce is one of my favorites, too! Also Tea Forte's white ginger pear. I like Twinings' Lady Grey, but since discovering Harney & Sons' early grey imperial, I haven't been drinking it as much.

  • I love tea and order most of my teas from Harney & Sons. My favorites are the earl grey imperial, Paris, white peach, currant, peppermint, green tea tropical, Mother's Bouquet, and cinnamon (both the regular and herbal versions are excellent).

  • I'm down to the last 15 or so. Feel free to add me-- I'm looking for more friends, too.
  • I generally don't eat substitute foods, but I have tried these and hated them all: 1. rice dream "ice cream"-- fortunately, I do not remember the specifics of how it tasted! 2. Skinnycow fudge bars-- they taste chalky. This one was probably the most disappointing because I had heard so many people raving about how good…
  • I agree 100%. Plus, honestly, I think most of the time when people say hurtful things in a "joking" manner, they are not joking, they are telling the truth in a way they think they can get away with. I did not lose friends when I lost weight, but some of my friendships did have to adjust a bit. One of my friends lost over…
  • Congratulations on your accomplishments-- significant weight loss and huge improvement to your run time! And keep the goatee off-- you look much younger without it.
  • I love this thread! Here are a few of my recent NSVs: 1. Two friends told me they could tell I had lost a lot of weight and that I looked great. 2. Annoying, but at the same time fun: a winter skirt is now too big, so I will need to get it and the others like it altered. I'm a bit confused because I thought I purchased…
  • Air of brands don't make 16s , and some stores don't stock them. You'd have more luck online. Also, in addition to the stores named above, try Macy's. At least when I worked there, they had a decent selection of 16s. However, if the problem is just the panty line and not true tightness, get some new underwear. There are…
  • I like Fiber One Original and Fiber One Honey Nut Clusters, but I just eat them dry as snacks. The original took me a while to get used to. I don't know if I'd like it with milk. I think the honey nut clusters would be good with milk, though. It's very crunchy.
  • I like the low sugar Kind bars (some are high in sugar, so look at the labels). My favorites are Nut Delight, Dark Chocolate with Sea Salt, and Dark Chocolate Cinnamon Pecan. The peanut butter/dark chocolate one is really good, too, but it's a little higher in sugar than the ones I named above so I don't get it as often.…
  • I like most vegetables, but my top favorites are mesclun greens (salads), spinach (salads, sauteed with garlic, creamed, in various casseroles), Swiss chard (I usually just steam it and either eat it plain or put it in a frittata or a pasta dish), and squash (all kinds, either roasted, sauteed, or steamed). I generally…
  • VS bras run very small. Their DD cups are smaller than other brands by at least one, probably two cup sizes. The last time I went there I tried on my size-- thought it looked too small and it was ridiculously small. I could barely put it on.
  • I agree. Try a 32B. It could also be your shape works better in different types of bras. So try various styles (plunge, balcony, demi, etc.) and see what works best for your shape. Sometimes a bra is the correct size, but just doesn't work for you, so changing the size won't help. Stay away from Victoria's Secret. Their…
  • I just want to add to the above suggestions-- make sure you wear properly fitting bras. Most women wear bras that are too large in the band, and a lot also wear bras to small in the cup. Wearing the correct bra size and style will help your posture and take weight off your shoulders.
  • I took pilates mat classes twice a week back in 2003-2005. I noticed improved core strength and leg definition. Then I moved to Texas and quit pilates for various reasons. Anyway, I started taking private classes using the pilates equipment in April (mostly the reformer). I have been going once a week except for a few…

  • Wondering the same thing. I usually watch Chopped when I use the elliptical, or some other favorite show that doesn't require much concentration. And I usually do intervals.
  • You are incorrect. My father is a noted psychiatrist, dual board certified in internal medicine. He specializes in psychopharmacology and has an additional certificate on that subject. He also teaches courses on psychopharmacology to medical students. He says that ADs affect people differently depending on a whole host of…
  • I think so, too, but 5 inches seems like a lot which makes me question the "clean" part. I only see a significant increase when I've eaten a lot of food in general, especially carbs, and drunk a lot of wine.
  • What do you mean by eating clean? A carb heavy diet will cause bloating. Whenever I eat a meal with a lot of pasta or rice, the same thing happens to me, but thankfully not 5 inches. How is your posture? If you sit a lot and have bad posture, your stomach will stick out and it will probably get worse throughout the day.
  • Remember to take care of yourself and your feelings. Acknowledge and express feelings appropriately as they arise, and always remember to take care of your vital needs (different from person to person-- perhaps alone time, listening to music, group projects... you might need to take some time to figure out what yours are).…
  • I like step. Not quite as much as zumba and old-fashioned hi/lo aerobics, but I like it. I much prefer classes over videos, though. That said, I like Christi Taylor's videos. Also Cathe Friedrich's. My old gym had both step and zumba, so I could do one class of each every week. I did step 1-2 times a week for about five…
  • The point is, no one should have to point this out to him. You should not have to talk to him about how your children from your previous relationship, who live in the same home as the child you have with him, are that child's siblings. Ditto for the whole fake cousins etc. on your side of the family. Only someone very…
  • I have had this problem in the past. When I was in college, I lost around 20 pounds due to depression and got very thin. Try to make yourself eat a little more. Eating a little more probably will help the depression somewhat, and will help you sleep better. But be gentle with yourself-- make an effort, but don't force feed…
  • Try herbal teas or fruit flavored teas. (I second the recommendation for Celestial Seasonings' Red Zinger. Also Bigelow's Perfect Peach.) There are some really good ones. Also try gradually reducing the sugar in your tea. Eventually you will not like the taste of sweet tea.
  • Exactly. I hardly ever eat bananas (don't like them very much), but I still consume plenty of potassium. There are lots of other foods with more potassium than bananas: http://www.healthaliciousness.com/articles/food-sources-of-potassium.php Not on the list is sweet potato which is also higher in potassium than bananas.…
  • Increase fiber and water. Also fruits other than bananas-- cherries, melons. Eat a salad every day. Bananas are part of the BRAT (bananas rice applesauce toast) diet recommended for people suffering from diarrhea, so I think they do have a binding effect. You could just try eating the way you normally do but leave out the…
  • Believe me, I worked in the restaurant business for years. There are parasitic worms in almost all fish. I've seen them many times. Grossed me out so bad I didn't eat sushi for a long time. However, the danger of a true parasitic infection is fairly low. These worms are small and rarely take up residence in the human body,…
  • The measurement is supposed to be taken at the natural waist (narrowest part of the torso). The hip ratio is supposed to be 0.8 or smaller. Larger than 0.8 is not good (apple shape).
  • Regardless of which bra sizing method used, Marilyn still wouldn't have a 37 bust with a 36D bra size. Both methods use the difference between bust and under-bust measurements. Not adding to the under-bust measurement just results in a smaller number and much higher letter because the difference between the measurements is…
