This is on point - remember what you said when you joined MFP, post it in your car, your house, write it on your arm, etc :) Keep your goal within sight and you will achieve it. Be forgiving but hard on yourself at the same time. I'm sure you are successful as a banker, apply the same drive to your health and wellness as…

maybe drink something intead - water or herbal hot tea. or brush your teeth - food generally doesn't taste very good right after doing that. on the other hand, if you have calories left to eat there ins't anything wrong with eating at that time of night. is it that you are going over your daily intake?

Lots of good advice here.....i think starting slow is key as well as acknowledging it is really a mental game. Start out with a small goal...I'll run to that stop sign, then to the next, etc, etc. and before you know it you've gone 10 minutes! Just keeping telling yourself you will not stop. I am talking to myself most of…

I was thinking the same thing!

this is interesting....I've noticed the past couple days that I've been totally exhausted from some heavy exercising 5 x week. I've been trying to eat back my exercise calories but maybe I'm not even accurately calculating the amount of calories burned. I think I'll try to add calories for a period of time - may help with…

I stumbled upon your post - just wanted to say best of luck to you, keep up the good work. My only concern is the pictures you have posted under your log in name - to me they all look like girls/women who are on the verge of anorexia. It's one thing to be healthy and fit but I'm not sure that's what I think of when I see…

Just try to remember that you are only temporarily satisfied by the "junk" food - it passes so quickly you probably don't even remember it! But, think about how gratifying it is to make a wise choice - that feeling lasts much longer, has a snowball effect of you making more healthy choices, etc. and before you know it -…

Thanks for the reminder about Lent coming up! And to the OP, I don't think it is religious psycho-babble. If you don't celebrate Lent, why post anything? Anyways.....I'm going to give up diet soda.

Never would have thought to eat PB with a pear! I'm trying that tomorrow. I adore PB! In moderation, of course! Mostly I like it with apples, english muffins, celery.

My first thought is to focus on the positive - you've lost inches! and probably feel better too! So, next, try to change things up a bit - different exercise, look at your diet, etc. Maybe there's some clues there that might help you see the scale start to move again. Best of luck.

This is a great question! I'm not a trainer, but have done many a exercise class, DVD routine, etc. Of course, what I might do may vary from what you want to/need to do, but here's an idea. Try to incorporate strength training and cardio type exercises together - more bang for your buck. For example, while doing squats or…

I think these supplements are fine if you are lacking protein, although whole foods are best. But, there's the convenience of powders and bars. I would recommend trying Tera's Whey protein powder - the bourbon vanilla is really good with milk. I also like the Kashi Go lean rolls.

Here's some things I take for lunch: -hummus and pita bread, baby carrots with dip, piece of fruit -boar's head brand lunch meat (not sure where you live but this is great as far as deli meats are concerend and they have low sodium option) on a thomas sandwich thin with a piece of cheese, veggie and or fruit -baked potato,…

YUM!

Just keep at it - what you are doing sounds good re: exercise. I'm not sure what you are eating, but as long as you are tracking and being honest you will see a change. Maybe take your measurements too - you may see changes in that when the number on the scale doesn't move. Best of luck!
-
when you don't feel like going to the gym, hop on the scale and you'll be reminded of the weight you've gained. that should motivate you!

I like what you've done with your daughter - I have a 6 y/o girl and when I pull out an exercise DVD she loves to do them with me, along with Wii games. She knows I track what I eat and we've discussed healthy eating, eating the rainbow, etc. Far too many children are obese (in the U.S, anyways) and I think you are setting…

hi - you will get a lot of replies, I'm sure. Basically, MFP has already set your daily caloric intake at a defecit to lose weight based on what you set as your goal (1#/week for example). When you exercise, you will need some fuel - hence eating back some of your exercise calories. You want to make sure you are netting…

Since you still have a lot of protein left, how about a protein bar? larabar makes some yummy flavors - all around 200 calories. you could have it with a piece of fruit maybe? Or how about an apple and peanut butter?
-
There's been alot of good advice given to you - I hope you find the courage within to get the help you need. Looks like you have a lot of support from MFP. When you are ready you will be able to seek the help you need - we all need help from others from time to time, whether it's a professional, a friend, family member,…

Please don't give up! Try these things first: eat all the calories given to you (plus your exercise ones or at least some of them), drink 8 glasses of water, weight yourself just once a week - around the same time of the day, take your measurements and log them as well. I think you will see results, but it might be slow…
-
I would not purchase anymore slimfast - it isn't going to keep you full and it isn't really all that healthy. If you are stuck with them until you run out try mixing in a blender with a plain greek yogurt and some fruit - maybe that will stick with you longer. That doesn't take that long to make. If you aren't a breakfast…

I think this was meant to be supportive........but......... There is nothing wrong with a nutritionist or seeking medical help for depression/anxiety for what it's worth!
-
I'm sorry you don't feel supported. MFP is here for you! Please see the nutritionist - do it for yourself. I cringed when I read that someone you care about told you that doing something legitimate for your health was crap! Don't let that stop you from being healthy and well - physically and emotionally. Everyone else…

I'd be hungry too! Try adding protein - from lean meat, chicken, etc. or even a protein bar or shake if that's easier. Protein will stick with you. Best of luck!
-
You will get a lot of responses - probably not many you want to hear.

You just simply need to eat at least 1200 calories - this really isn't that much. Especially if you do exercise - you need to eat back some of that for fuel. Consider revamping some of the foods you eat to help get to 1200. For example, 2% cheese vs. fat free cheese. Hope this helps and best of luck!
