I just started being "serious" about my diet and exercising at the beginning of September. So it has almost been 3 weeks and I've lost around 6 lbs. I've been steadily losing, and I'm happy about it, but I want it to be healthy.

Thanks for this.. What are your thoughts about a 1,200 calorie diet? That's what was set for me by MFP. On days that I workout, I still try to stay at 1200 cals. Is that unhealthy? I've been losing 0.2 to 0.8 lbs a day, weighing myself every morning at the same time. And I'm currently obese at 181 lbs, and I'm 21. Is my…

I LOVE musicians. If they're talented musicians (and not an *kitten*), I'd be all up on that. Favorites: Singer (if good), Drummer, or Guitarist (any, including bass)

The One Thing: I like my boobs! My friends always say how they'd love to have my bewbies. I guess it successfully distracts from my tummy

I'm kind of in the same boat! I'm 5'3" lost 19 lbs going from 200 to 181 and only my husband is taking notice. It pushes me to keep going. And I know I shouldn't need other peoples' recognition of my weight loss, but I really can't wait for my family and friends to notice! haha. Keep up the great work and congratulations…

I don't, personally. I like a clean and buff chest :) I probably don't like the hair on my man's chest because it reminds me of my dad lol

You're doing a great job! :) I just want to say that you're on the right track, and it may seem like it's taking forever, but it's coming off. The little gains you get in between might just be muscle gain. Keep up the good work! Eat well and kill those workouts! :D

You're gonna love your HRM! :) I got mine a couple weeks ago and I honestly thought I was burning less than I actually was. MyFitnessPal over-exaggerates the calorie burn wayy too much. Heart rate monitors are the way to go! :D Have fun burning calories!

Lmao this thread is too funny. Unfortunately, I look like a dying donkey when I run xD BUT at least we're doing something instead of staying on the couch! haha

Loved all the information on this thread (besides the drama lol). I've been searching through forums to find the best way to add more protein into my vegan diet without upping my calorie intake too much. I've been trying to lose weight and lately I've been hitting the gym every night, and according to MFP, I'm not getting…

Heyy! I'm kind of in the same boat as you :) I currently go to college full-time, I have a part-time job, and I just turned vegan about a month ago. I'd love to have more vegan friends so that I can get more ideas of what to eat or incorporate into my diet. I also try to fit in fitness whenever I can, but I'm sure you know…

WOW! So incredibly inspiring!! Well done on your weight-loss and your phenomenal writing :)

Both are fun but TurboKick definitely burns more calories than Zumba because it's much more rigorous. I felt like zumba was just dancing and not really working out.. and my HRM said I burned way more in TurboKick. Good luck!

Hey! I have been vegan for about a month now so the more vegan friends I can get, the better :) I try to get most of my protein from tofu, beans, greens, nuts, and chia seeds. I usually meet my needs but when I have a rigorous workout, I like to have a plant based protein shake. Feel free to add me, all!

Try to let your family know in advance so that maybe they'll prepare a dish that you could eat or at least add things into the meals that you can eat. I told my dad this past weekend and he thought it was great! And when you do get there, try to stop at a store and/or farmers market, maybe you can try cooking a vegan meal…

Wow, what a *kitten*! Some people are so rude. Just ignore em :)

My daily routine goes like this: 6:00am - Get up, get ready for the day 7:15am - Leave for work 8:00am-4:30pm - Work in the morning and classes (in college) in the afternoon 5:00pm - Get home, have a little energy pre-workout snack, get dressed for the gym 5:30pm - Walk to the gym 6:00-7:30pm - Working out (machines,…

I'm a fairly new vegan and so far it's going well! I don't know much about weightlifting but I've been wanting to learn. Feel free to add me :D

Wow that's amazing! Congratulations on your weight loss! I hope I'll be able to lose around that much during this coming up month (August). My goal is to lose at least 6 lbs. If you can, I'm sure I can too! :) Thanks and keep up the great work!

I usually leave 400 - 600 calories for dinner. As much as I can, basically :)
