I have had a 735xt for the past 7 years. good for running, pool & open swimming & some cycling (though I have a edge530 for that now). I don't wear it sleeping, but it still does a good job for counting calories burnt during the day. Cracked the screen a year ago in the gym, and garmin replaced it for $au 120 ($77 usd)…

That's so important. 13th April 2006 is when I stopped 'exercising as a penance for smoking', & trained for a 12k city bay run as a reward for not smoking, and that worked for me. Nicotine first, then other healthier choices become logical next steps.

I got into a habit of exercising as some penance for smoking. I had 20+ years of to/start In 2006 I flipped it, wanting to do a 12 k fun run, and the run was the reward for not smoking. The running endorphins were an unexpected nicotine replacement.

When I was 11 (45+ years ago) I used to ride my bike to Soccer Saturday mornings. There was a driveway easement I crossed, which had a great piece of curved macadam, you could jump to get airborne, "lose your stomach" etc. In the rashness of youth, I thought if I tried with my eyes closed, I would lose my stomach the…

Hi, Adelaide Australia, I swim in a 25m indoor pool, and the sea, and I swim the Adelaide Australia day 2k jetty to jetty swim (Jan 26).

2000 metres over 50 minutes. I thought about people driving to the gym to ride stationary cycles, as I cycled to the pool in the rain.

50 minutes 25m pool 2L kick, 2L breaststroke 2L back interspersed with 2L Free, 52L total. A Kick length takes forever! Hope its worth it.

Since my work computer password has to change frequently, I am deriving it from one of my goals. I have to keep typing it in, so its front of mind.

I would like to re-learn butterfly

50 minutes in 25 metre pool - freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke & kickboard no flippers. 1min 40 sec to do a length on the kickboard! - does anyone else do this?

My daughter gave me a fitbit charge yesterday, cycled to work today. It says I climbed 18 floors. That could be a bit wrong.

Starting to see a lot more door!

I used to exercise as a penance for smoking. In 2006, I changed my thinking to say 'no exercise if you smoke'. Specifically, training for my first 12k run. I would not fuss the weight until the first 3 months are up, but concentrate on switching your addiction to exercise endorphins.

Sorry, no, I eat, and get it over with quickly. Best I have found is, crackers & a slice of cheese, as the fat content puts away the craving fastest for me, for 208 calories.

Until he was about 8, (he died aged 10 in 2003) I used to run around the oval with our Cavalier King George, he loved it. I had him on a leash to & from, let him go when on the oval. He used to cut all the corners to get ahead, then run back. Could easily outrun anyone. At that stage I was running about 1k there, 3 k round…

If I read her right, its half you body weight in pounds, in ounces. So 116 kilos gives 127 ounces you are to drink, which is maybe 3.5 litres, or 14-ish 250 ml glasses. Does sound high.

If you were doing Tabata intervals, you would be doing 20 seconds sprint, 10 seconds rest, repeat 8 times for 4 minutes. My point being, maybe its the 2 minutes you could drop for higher speed.

Yeah, but... try swimming 2k of laps on a hot day with a strap on, and explain to your teenage daughters why Dad has a bikini tan.

I dont know how well this fits your needs but: I bought a Trek Alpha 2.1 i n 2010, which is an aluminium frame, carbon forks, around 11-12kg if I recall - sort of the minimum you can keep up with a cycling group. Once way to think about drop handles is, you dont HAVE to stay down on them, they give you more options to sit…

IMO regardless of how acidic Coke is, the hydrochloric acid in your stomach is far more acidic - all your stomach has to do is keep the pH stable, which it does all the time anyway.

I am down to my last week, from 30 mg, fairly mild bout of Crohns. From the little I understand of Lupus, it seems evil. I guess all of us are seeing what we can get away with, what works, and which of the things we believe are true, and which are not. I would suggest you need to take whatever it is you can do now, and…

I use sportypal on Android, I understand it works on Iphone as well. Free and Ihave used it for 3 or so years. Most of these apps can interchange a GPX file, which is a file of time, position and altitude readings. That lets them leverage google maps, and derive calories from the body data you supply, I think you can load…
