16 miles this week, 84.3 so far for the month.

21.1 for the week (including my trail half marathon), 68.3 for the month

I think I missed last week's thread. I ran 27.7 last week and 19.5 this week for 47.2 miles so far in April.
-
I'd like to try for 125 again in April. Thanks!
-
18.4 miles for this past week (25-31), making my total for the month 99.5

Unless it's crazy hot, you probably don't need to drink even up to a half marathon. I did 11.4 miles today with nothing and was fine (but it was only 65 degrees). When it starts getting into the 90s I'll carry water and when I'm doing over 18 miles I'll start carrying food. If you're carrying water or stopping at water…

Another 12 mile week, 81.1 for March so far.

Late posting. Sick last week, and only managed 12 miles, March total to 69.
-
35.6 more miles, for a total of 41.6 this week (most in a week since I tapered last fall) and 57.1 total for the month.
-
Since I failed to meet my goal in January or February, I'm going to aim a little lower and go for 125 miles. That would still be my highest monthly mileage since September. So far, I've done 21.5 miles in March.
-
Did six miles yesterday and 20 the week before, for a total of 94.8 in February.
-
Sick this week, so only got 20 miles in. 89 total for the month.
-
I missed my long run because of the snow, so I only got 22 miles this week. 68.8 total for the month.
-
35.3 for this week, 46.8 so far in February

Jogging is just slow running, defined as a "leisurely pace," so it depends on your fitness level. Elite runners jog faster than I race.
-
I wasn't able to get my run in today, but I did 11.5 miles yesterday, which is my total for the month so far.

I'm an amateur with no natural skill at running and I saw a dramatic increase in my rate of improvement when I slowed all my runs down to conversational pace and increased from 2 or 3 days per week to 5 days per week, peaking at around 50 miles per week. When my aerobic fitness improved, my speed at any given level of…

Yeah, it's not just size and intensity. Fitness is a huge factor. I use the RunningAhead estimates (very similar to the MFP database) because they're lower than what my HRM says. With the HRM I would routinely get over 1000 in an hour. Based on the database, I would have to run 8 miles in an hour to do that, which would be…

I'm shooting for 158 miles in February!

10 miles for the week so far, 109.3 total for January!
-
Back on track with 36 miles for this week, 99.3 total for January so far.

My sister had that!

16.6 this week, 63.3 so far for the month. After a rough week, I know now I won't be making my goal this month. Since I'm just starting a base building phase, I'm not so worried about it. I'm just going to keep adding the slow miles gradually!

I think you're right about this. After reading Chi Running and realizing just how bad my form was, I made a real conscious effort to change. When I started running in the VFFs, I realized that I still had some work to do and they've helped me a lot.

Thanks for the tip! I may try that before it gets warm enough to try wearing them again. The last time I wore them it struck me that my Komodosports don't really qualify as minimalist by comparison. There are a couple of thin spots that will be holes in another run or two.
-
I have really short, really wide feet. Most of the VFFs are too long (even the smallest size). Most other minimalist shoes are too narrow for me and don't come in wide. The Komodosports are the best I've found so far. After slipping around in the mud yesterday, I want to see if the Spyridons might fit me. I have read it…

15 mile trail race yesterday! That makes 25.5 for the week and 46.7 total for January so far.

All three of Gilmour's in "Dogs," especially the second one.
