  • You could always make 180 your minimum, I think you did great and I'm glad you are pleased, you should be  I haven't weighed in yet. I'm a little nervous to be honest LOL. Not sure why I've done pretty good this week, although I did go over my calories one day. But I did workout 3 times and I did do 30 mins cardio…

  • Good job! The workouts get a little easier. I find stretching before and after really help reduce muscle soreness.
  • yeah I saw that...I wouldn't do that on a dare LOL

  • I think those are great goals. I'm aiming for 3 gym workouts per week ( weights ) and 30 mins of cardio per week. I believe this is a reasonable starting place for me ( plus I despise cardio ). Also a mini weight loss goal of 8 lbs by Feb 2nd ( the day before I leave for vacation ). Also a goal of tracking what I eat, all…

  • Here is a great book I picked up. Very informative. Adrenal Fatigue: The 21st Century Stress Syndrome by James Wilson. Best of luck to you and hope you have a quick as possible recovery! :flowerforyou:
  • What a refreshing post! Its nice to see it kept in perspective. Well done. Btw, I love the word foodnami, awesome :D
  • My dog passed away this past spring, I was devastated. A good friend of mine sent me a sympathy card with a donation to a local animal shelter in my dogs name. That meant a lot to me. I still really miss my dog though, she was the best.
  • I think that there has been a lot of good advice given, Could I suggest that you look into get a heart rate monitor or FitBit or Body Media arm band, something that gives you an accurate reading of calories burned. I took a peek at your exercise diary and I think MFP might be a little too generous with the calories burned…
  • LOL, I love this!
  • Holy smokes! Well done sir! You are an inspiration

  • Wow thanks for the replies! I'm still pretty new at weight lifting, so just trying to figure things out! I appreciate the info. It makes sense, use it or lose it and I definitely don't want to lose what I have, though the fat can go at any time  I also didn't realize about the bone density, unfortunately I'm…
  • Taking a look at your food diary, you are eating far too little. As they say, you didn't gain it all overnight so you're not going to lose it overnight either. Eat! Food is a wonderful thing, and if you restrict yourself too much you may be headed for a binge. Eat healthy, stay active and the weight will come off. Best of…
  • Hi there! Did your doctor clear you for exercising? I would start with diet and get moving, it doesn't haven' to be dramatic, just going for a walk, or a swim. And incorporating healthier foods, has you doctor given you any special diet or restrictions? I would start with him and make a plan. You can totally do this!
  • I have also been asked several times if I am pregnant. The worst one though was on my wedding day, when the hair dresser asked when I was due. I went from feeling on top of the world to wanting to hide under a rock. At the time it didn't inspire me to make any changes, but now, every time I feel like giving in, I try to…
  • Welcome and good luck!
  • aedlife, I can imagine how great that must feel to see your hard work and effort show on the scale! Awesome! I'm looking forward to seeing some dwindling numbers on the scale myself.
  • Shift work is tough, I work days and nights, and trying to fit a workout in after a 14 hour night shift is almost impossible! But I'm trying to find ways to make it work! Thanks everyone, every bit of support is welcome, changing your lifestyle for the better is challenging, but worth it in the end!
  • Congratulations on your loss so far! I'm looking for a few more friends too. I'm a wife and mom to 3 boys and I work full time ( though its shift work which can be kinda crazy ).
  • You haven't failed, because you haven't given up. A quote I once saw that I like is, "No matter how many mistakes you make, or how slow your progress you are way ahead of everyone else who isn't trying".
  • I think that's a great idea, I think I'll use this for myself.
  • Maybe go back to your doctor and look at adjusting your meds? I suffer from depression too, so many times I thought I had it beat, but before I know it I'm in the midst of it again. Is there anyone you can talk to that 'gets it'? Its hard for many to understand that its not just a matter of thinking more positively, or…
