  • I have been in a similar situation, reading this helped me a lot. Best of luck! http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/818701/the-myth-of-motivation-and-what-you-need-instead/p1
  • Good morning! Today will be a long and busy day but also a productive one ( I hope ). Todays goals are 1) hitting the gym, 2) drink at least 2 litres of water ( I've been very lacking lately), 3)track my calories. I might even be able to get some Christmas shopping in before I go into work tonight.
  • I'm on shift this weekend so activity is a bit of challenge. Food has been good today. Have a great Sunday everyone! Goals for today: -drink all my water 3L -stay within calories -write up meal plan and grocery list for the week
  • hey! I haven't been around much, I'm sick again! Hopefully I'm getting it all out of the way now. I haven't really been tracking my food this week, so I'm not sure what the scale is going to say tomorrow... Happy Halloween everyone!
  • Yesterday was a pretty awful food day, but its behind me now. Went out today and bought a set of weights for the home gym I'm slowly putting together. I'd like to keep my workouts a little more consistent and I find my shift work can wreak havoc on my workout schedule. Calories are on track for today, I might jump on the…
  • Happy Friday everyone! I've been sick the last couple of days but starting to feel somewhat normal again. I've decided to lower my calorie goal for a little while, I was getting a little too free and easy with less healthy foods. So for the next few weeks I'm going to rein myself in a little bit. Goals for today: 2L of…
  • Off to the gym this morning and grocery shopping and food prep for the next couple of days. I switch over to nights shift for today and tomorrow and I tend not to get much done after I start nights! We have had some pretty crazy weather these last few days with temps from freezing to summer like yesterday. Today its…
  • Good morning everyone! Well I'm afraid I'm going to have a very boring day today, after work tonight I have a mandatory meeting so I won't be getting home til rather late. So my goal for today is to stay within calorie goal. Gym tomorrow though. Have a great one!
  • Workout completed and a new squat record of 190lbs x 5 reps, so I'm pretty happy!! I'm finding myself very hungry today not sure why though... I hope everyone is having a great day!
  • Good morning everyone! Today is a busy day, off to the gym for training, meal prep for the next couple of days and also getting ready to visit family this weekend for Thanksgiving ( Canada ). This weekend is going to be a bit of a challenge, my sister is going to be there and she loves to make lots of food, usually not the…
  • Day 16! Today is quiet day for me as I finished night shift this morning, so I'm just sticking with my calorie goal today and hitting the gym tomorrow. I'm also planning out my meals for the next week today. Have a great day everyone!
  • Yesterdays goals met! Today its getting in an hour at the gym, stay within my calorie range and have all my food prepared for the next 2 night shifts so there won't be any reason to wander to the vending machine in the wee hours of the morning. Happy Monday everyone!
  • Well I didn't get c25k done last night, I was so tired when I got home from work yesterday. So today I will do c25k. My eating was great yesterday though. Have a good one!
  • My plan for today is staying within by calorie goal, logging completely everything and c25k when I get home from work and do some strength training. Oh, and drinking more water, didn't have much yesterday. Have a great day everyone!
  • Today was a mellow day for me. I did go above my calories but stayed under maintenance but I did enjoy a lovely dinner out with DH. I returned to work today after 2 weeks off so trying to get back into waking up at 4 am blech. Hope everyone had a great Friday!
  • It could be a lot of things, but I highly recommend seeing a doctor, never mess around with you heart health.
  • Good day everyone! I just started the challenge today, but so far so good:laugh: Started c25k today, so that's done and out of the way! Congrats on the losses folks!:drinker:
  • Here is a great website with a lot of really yummy recipes for the crockpot. I've made a bunch of them and they are fabulous. http://www.skinnytaste.com/2007/07/crock-pot-recipes.html
  • Well I'm late to join but here I am! Nice to meet you all! My name is Jenn, I live in Ontario Canada, my challenge goal is to lose 18 lbs. I plan on achieving this by staying within my calorie range of 1600-1800 and strength training 2 or 3 times x week ( depending on what shift I'm working ) and cardio at least 2 x week.…
  • Quest protein bars are a great source of fiber as well. Usually somewhere around 17 grams of fiber.
  • Thanks again everyone. I have definitely been lacking in my level of commitment, I've been losing and finding the same 5 pounds for a few months now. I think its interesting that there have been thoughts from both sides of it, the readiness factor, and the just do it side. For now I think I'm going to focus on what choices…
  • Thank you everyone for your replies, you have given me much to think about and act on. Glad to know I'm not alone in feeling this way. I think for now I'll focus on the short term, what can I do today and stop giving myself permission to give in. I know it won't always be easy. I have talked myself out of dieting often…
  • I do read a lot, I've spent an enormous amount of time on the forums reading up on a whole bunch of things. I'm grateful for this site and its posters because I've learned a lot ( not to mention highly entertained  ) Motivation is definitely a problem for me, I'm not sure if some of it comes from being tired a lot…
  • I could use a little tune-up! I'm finding it very difficult lately to not say " oh I'll restart tomorrow " and I've become obsessive about food, having a mental battle all the time between eating super healthy and I can eat a cupcake/chocolate bar/chips and still fit it in my daily plan. Why just grocery shopping yesterday…
  • I don't get sweet potato fries. Everyone I know loves them. They''re meh for me.
  • That's excellent on the exercise, and don't despair, I'm sure the scale will readjust accordingly after a couple of days.
in Week 3! Comment by jennalor January 2014
  • Week 2 was so so for me. My weekend at Blue Mountain wrecked havoc both to my calories and exercise. But I hit the gym today and have my meals planned for the next couple of days. I have no clue as to what the scale will say tomorrow but either way its but one week in a long journey, and life happens! Best of luck to…
  • I have a similar pain though it only flares up when I'm doing cardio ( jogging, biking etc ), hurts for a couple of days (especially if I lay on my side), then goes away. My trainer said its my TFL. There are some stretches you can try. Of course I'm no doctor or licensed health anything so you should check with them.…
  • bump Thanks!:flowerforyou:
  • It really does help, ever since my little experiment I've been weighing everything LOL I don't know if anyone would be interested but here is another way of calculating your calories. Its a very interesting post. There is also a link in the post to her success story. Though it also mentions Intermittent Fasting which is a…
