  • Good morning Theresa! :flowerforyou: My efforts today will include resisting the temptation to be BAD! :noway: I really just "want" a breakfast sandwich with sausage and pizza for lunch...BUT...after St. Patty's Day, I should really behave myself. Just a little stressed (Sister-in-law is in the hospital due to…

Now, I know i'm STILL not out of the 240s yet, but I'm closer than I was when this challenge started. So YIPPIE! Thanks for all the support and motivation. I agree with PURR on the…
  • Let's also consider the fact that in Italy (and Europe in general), they do a LOT more walking than we do (haha, and if they're like me - probably RUNNING for trains!) and 'fast food' isn't exactly that readily available. Not to mention the fact that most of their food is fresh and home grown. Even in the deli's and…

  • I'm interested in buying a Heart Rate Monitor to wear to the gym so that I can get an ACCURATE number of the calories I'm burning. I'm curious as to which products everyone has used, live by, or absolutely hate! Basically, which is the best bang for my buck? I'm looking to spend between $50-80. :ohwell: Any ideas, advice,…

  • Hrmmmm, I'm thinking about taking one now. I usually hate stationary bikes as I never feel like I burn enough calories or get a great workout... but I may try out a class though as I hear they do kick your butt. We'll see, still working up the courage I suppose. :ohwell: Congrats to you and keep up the great work!!…
  • YAY!!! I just got off my plateau last week too! Those damn things are rough!! Congrats and keep up the great work! IT's great to see that we really can do it, even when we're thrown rough patch! :flowerforyou:
  • Thank you all so much for your continued support and  :smooched: !! Couldn't be doing this without all of your wonderful comments and advice!! As for advice - ummm, I told myself I'd already lost my first 20...why wouldn't I WANT to continue on that path? • I wear mostly capri or yoga style pants, mostly bought from Old Navy (probably my FAVE), Target, and/or New York and Company. As for sports bras, I do Old Navy or Target's Champion brand. I then wear a 'body shaper' from NY&Co (I used to work there so I have BILLION of them!) with a regular cotton t-shirt over that. I'm…
  • Yay for great weigh-ins! I'm finally off of my 3 week plateau. At least I wasn't gaining weight back, but not budging really got me down. I kicked it in high gear this week and dropped 2.8lbs bringing me to a total of exactly 24lbs lost since I started in October! It's a slow process but I'm excited to be almost a 1/4th of…
  • Yay for nice surprises in the morning! I did my weekly weigh-in today and the scale FINALLY moved!! Down 2.8lbs for the week. I've got another 3lbs before I'm out of the 240s for good! • Great advice ladies! I'd also say look at the tone of his voice (er...text). To say "Would you like to go out sometime for dinner and drinks?" is a lot different from "Hey, wanna grab a bite sometime time?" That's the only advice I have, as I too haven't been on many (not exaggerating - only 2 or 3) dates myself. Also, you…
  • Hi guys! I'm glad to say I'm finally getting back on track! I think my old gym at school used to have the Precor ellipticals, I LOVED them. But now, my gym has the Arc Trainer ellpiticals and I adore them even more. I feel like it definitely gives me the BEST work out! Did 35 mins of the weight loss pre-set at…
  • mgullette - not resting much, i try to move between the exercises very quickly. And usually after a high intensity 'warm-up' - 15-20 mins on an arc trainer elliptical. I continue to sweat a lot during my strength-training, until I get to crunches, then I start to cool off before doing another 15-20 mins of cardio.
  • How tall are you? 5'8" What is your weight? 245 What is your build? large...yeah...let's go with that How much do you workout? at least 3 times (or so I HOPE) How much do you eat average daily? 1400/day without exercise, with exercise probably closer to 1800/2000. DAMN...that's a lot compared to most so I may try to cut…
  • Ok...so I'm doing strength training, to build muscle, incorporated with at least 30 mins of cardio. My question is this...when calculating calories, why is there such a huge difference between "STRENGTH TRAINING" and "CIRCUIT TRAINING". I'd like to get the 'most accurate' idea of how many calories I'm burning at the gym…
