$300 bi-weekly (not just on food) Family of 4 ... to include the things I buy to care for 7 chickens, 3 ducks, 2 dogs and 4 fish (hey pets are family too!) No red meats or pork. 2 of us are gluten free. My calories range anywhere from 1350 - 1800 depending on my training days. I have no idea how many calories my husband…

I spent a total of 3 years in physical therapy due to my knee. I'll never be 100% but PT definitely was worth it all. I'm a brand new person because of it! I went 3x per week, had such a great experience, and made a few friends too! Changing up your routine will help you see improvement. Just as I got comfortable with the…

I'm 5'3 - Right now I'm 135lbs. Anywhere between 135-125lbs with 15% body fat, just want the flab to be gone.

bump, thank you so much for this :)

Yes, many people will agree that the effort is 70% in the kitchen and 20% sleep and 10% gym. or whatever... most of it has to do with what happens in the kitchen. Avoid processed foods, drink plenty of water and schedule a prep day 1x a week to make all your meals for the rest of the week. Preparation is key. While my…

I was wondering the same thing. Although I did get one (my friend owned a tanning spa) a long time ago. She took my measurements before and after. I lost inches, but it would have been neat had I gone back 4 weeks later to see if I had kept them off. Honestly they are really expensive, so I think just good exercise and…

And your abs look amazing! I'm hoping mine can do that again after having only 2 children (bad stretchmarks)

I was in the Marines, working in aviation... worked my butt off every day, climbing and crawling on aircraft, heavy lifting etc. etc. I still gained weight. I had previously weighed 120 before paxil and still maintained a clean diet. It was horrible. I feel your pain!
-
Yup, I've been taking antidepressants for years and switching to paxil really messed me up, then when I switched to cymbalta, I didn't gain anymore, but I couldn't lose the weight, no matter how hard I tried. Once I tapered off, my weight slowly went down, I feel great being off of them, and take herbal supplements…

There is a supplement called Deva that has vegan formulas for CLA :) I've had a similar experience, only I get migraines.

If you're going to get a whey protein powder, make sure it's whey isolate - it has something to do with the processing quality. - it's better for you.

Personally, I like NitroFusion, it's tastes pretty good plain, not chalky. I use vanilla because I can mix it in anything; fruit, greens, cacao.. 120 cals 21g protein 2g fat 4g carb 390mg sodium 60mg potassium BCAA 4,500mg L-Glutamine 3,350mg But depending on your goals you might need something with more protein per…

I GAINED *weight* by eating more, but hey, it's not necessarily a bad thing. My body fat % went down, just about 2 weeks after I increased my cals! :D

OUch! I have 3 torn ligaments in my knee, I've tried to do them with the knees slightly over the toe, it hurts ETA: 2 surgeries, a patella graph... lol still need another surgery or a knee replacement.

Hi, just started SL today. I've been lifting already for 3 months so I figured I'd jump into this. What got me on this was a topic posted by Rae subject "Jamie Eason's LiveFit Trainer kind of sucks." I had just started on phase 3 of Jamie's 12 week trainer and had seen some ok results. But as I kept doing the workouts the…

Wow, I've always seen ladies do squats with the knees forward and it always makes me cringe because I have knee problems. I was already doing the low bar squats I just thought I did squats in my own special way because of my limits LOL

http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/102-new-rules-of-lifting-for-women-nrol4w This group might be able to answer your questions! I haven't tried it but it's on the to-do list. I'm going to try the free stuff first (stronglifts 5x5) before I purchase the book. I've heard so many great things about it though, I just…

<--- if you can see my pics on my profile I do have a 6 week training progress of lifting (just 6 weeks!) and you can tell I am slightly more toned. I need to do another progress photo since it's been another 6 weeks, and my body fat % went down. I have not changed in weight at all. In fact, I've been gaining weight - but…

Are you talking about Stronglifts 5x5? I dumped Jamie Eason's Live Fit Trainer and I'm going to start stronglifts this week!

Personally, I avoid artificial sweeteners, they increase my appetite, if you wanna eat clean, use stevia.

Ask your doctor for a referral to see a physical therapist that specializes in post pregnancy related rehabilitation. Like a pelvic floor physical therapist or something. ETA: I had it for a brief time after both pregnancies, but it seem to go away after awhile. Sorry I couldn't give you much help there. I did however, end…

On my heavy lifting days I eat more, since body pump works your whole body, I suggest eating more on those days.

disgusting isn't it?

I put them in the blender with egg whites and a lot of cinnamon (until foamy) then I might add some berries or something to it. Fast way to make pancakes... you might be able to microwave it, I've never tried.

Mine would ask for things like that, but not so much now. I wouldn't say it to them the way the mother did, but I'd explain to them the ingredients; mainly sugars, additives, preservatives artificial flavors, colors, sweeteners and how it will affect their bodies. They rarely ask for processed foods now, and I tell them…
