BCAAs before a work out, FOAM ROLLING! So so important. I once thought I had seriously injured my knee, my ITB (outer thighs kinda) were just tight! Spent some time massaging them and pain totally gone. I also take magnesium which prevents muscle cramps from lactic acid after exercise. Well done on pushing yourself :)

Me exactly. 5"9 got to about 47kg once, now about 65 :( Which is ok but big for my frame and I want to be around 57 again!

ditto! 22 YO female looking to go from 141 to 125!

Hi OP/Emma I'm Emma too :) I am 5"9 and 141 so not too different from yourself, I am starting insanity on Monday and have been researching it and reading other people s experiences here before doing so! I used to linger around 120lbs (ex-ballerina, no weight training, Low Cal diet since adolescence) and when I got on here…

I get this. I am 5"9 and 141lbs. (64kg) but I spent most of my life really active and healthy and easily maintained 123 lbs for the majority of my life so when my diet and exercise habits plummeted, my weight did the same. And even though I'm a health 20 BMI now I am really trying to improve my eating and exercise habits,…

im the same height as you and a tiny bit lighter, how many calories do you burn in the workout and how long are they?
-
Thank you! I am just worried that I will overeat my calories and have been doing so now... eek! Thanks for the advice :)

I'd need my HRM to check the history to be accurate but my most recent session on Monday would have taken me (after a 6minute kilometre jog) Maybe 20 - 25 minutes of vigorous effort, I was out of breath, using only 8kg kettle bells and working as hard as I could. My HRM gave me maybe 80kcal for the jog/run, and another 80…

Hi everyone This made me super upset as I tend to wear my HRM for my warm up (e.g. jog around my block) then for my work out. I do 2 days of strength training per day and have relied on my HRM for the calories burnt. Its not as much as my cardio circuit days where I'm doing burpees, runs, etc. but its still around…

I make wholegrain porridge with hot water, then mix in sugarfree cocoa powder, honey, banana and a big dollop of cottage cheese! It makes the porridge creamier than if Id cooked it with milk, mixed with the sweet fruit and balances out the saltiness of the cheese and adds delicious protein to my oat breakfast :) Also its…

Made me so happy and relaxed to read this! As an ex ballerina who is also 5"9 I was once a mere 113lbs. I have definitely increased my food intake and not all of it is clean but I have also gained some muscle due to ditching ballet and taking up little backyard weight lifting sessions. It freaked me out that I am working…

Thanks for your reply I agree you do look great, and honestly I don’t even know if weight loss is my goal anymore (the ticker in my profile is from ages ago) as I am lifting weights, toning and really don’t have that much body fat apart from my thighs but I hear that from every girl I know even those whose figures I…

Well done! My friends got sick of me gushing about my new runners/heart rate monitor/weight loss goals too, hence MFP! Keep at it! Em x
