  • Tron- I hear ya! As for your calorie intake, 1200 is your miniumum! You should eat some, if not all of your exercise calories. I find 1500-1600 cals much easier to manage and still lose weight. And don't get too impatient with the rate of loss. You're close to your ideal weight, where it is much harder to lose! Hang in…

For someone like you to feel so run down for more than a day or 2 may indicate a real issue. stiring- I'm sure you'll get through this stress! It all sounds like a great adventure! swiss- thanks for the encouragement! I'm…
  • Hello, everyone! I'm back!:blushing: I've missed everyone and all the support. I'm in a different "space" than I was over the spring and summer and haven't felt the same drive and dedication. My eating has not been good, but I've kept up with the workouts, to an extent. I started Insanity after Labor Day but have not been…
  • Very often the signs are subtle- and rarely to blame for being overweight. However, common signs are fatique, depression, irregular cycles, infertility, dry skin. For me, being diagnosed and treated for my hypothyroidism did not greatly impact my weight. However, I realized that proir to treatment, I was depressed with…
  • I'll never forget. I lived in Brooklyn at the time. My local Fire House lost 7 men. I'll never forget.

  • Hi! I found you! I'm on day 3 of Insanity. Love it!!!! Although the warm-up is a workout in itself!!! First time I've had to warm up for the warm up!!! I do think I'll add in some extra cardio, at least in this first month. Maybe, if I'm feeling really peppy, I'll do like Jess and join dh in an occasional P90X…

  • It's nice to know I'm not the only one! Alf- you'll love P90X! Go for it! • Hello, all! Just got caught up! Everyone looks like they're doing great! You are all so right about this journey being a life-style change. But it certainly takes longer than 21 repetitions to make a habit. I feel the pull of my former life every day. Although the fitness routine seems to have stuck, I'm finding the diet…
  • Think of it as a gift; a continuation of life. I'm an organ donor, and I would like to think that my tragedy is someone else's miracle.
  • Oh, if only that were the case for me!:grumble:
  • tron said it! Forget the numbers on the scale. Go by inches and how your clothes feel! Also, make sure you are eating ENOUGH cals. 1400 seems pretty low, given your activity level. And remember, as you get closer to your goal weight, your rate of loss will be slower.:flowerforyou:
  • Hello, all! alf- Bella is ADORABLE!!! zebras- congrats!! sing- way to go with the Insanity-- and extra cardio??? You are an animal!!! stiring- You may need to up your cals A LOT once youy start P90X, especially since you're having trouble maintaining. You may need over 2500 cals per day. I am SO jealous!!! Ever try a…
  • Good for you!:flowerforyou: Keep it up!
  • Thanks!!:flowerforyou:
  • I've wanted to have this done for years!!!! The dis-satisfied responses are the reasons that I haven't. However, I am VERY hirsute, multiple, dark hairs from every follicle! As I've gotten older, the facial issue has gotten out of control! I literally have to shave my upper lip every 2 days! And then there's all the hair…
  • Hey, wait! Your mothers are my father!!! I had to deal with comments and looks from him almost as long as I can remember. And looking back, I was a great weight, petit, and muscular. My mother, of course, added her own brand of "help". Her most common comment was, "You'd look so much better if you just lost 5…
  • Sing- yes, Conshohocken! I'll be back tomorrow to pick up 2 bedside tables for guest room! You've got me convinced to start Insanity when I get back from vacation! Although I love P90X, a change will do me good, and it will be nice to not have to put in extra cardio- unless I want to! tron- I think working out…
  • Accountability. I cannot eat everything I want. If I eat what I'm not supposed to, don't pretend that it won't hurt. Get on the scale EVERY DAY!!! This is just me, but helps me not fool myself and rationalize poor choices. :flowerforyou:
