Week 8 complete! I guess now I will practice 30 minute runs for a week or two, then start using a 10k app! I have only a small idea of my distance and speed at this point, so I am thinking of using Runkeeper for some practice for the GPS feature.

You can do it!! I started at 230lbs, never been a runner. I just finished week 7. I never thought I could run for 5 minutes, let alone 25. Follow the advice here, pace yourself, and have fun becoming a runner.

Week 7 complete!
-
Great job! It's intimidating at first, but now that it's behind you, you'll feel awesome!
-
Week 6 complete! If someone would have told me that I would run for 22 minutes straight six months ago, I would have laughed in their face! I can't wait to see what is next! Do many of you go straight to C210K, or what is a good plan for when I finish this? I enjoy having a specific program. Thanks!

As above, the HRM is meant to be worn while working out. My batteries lasted about 1 year just wearing while exercising. If you want to track normal daily activity, try a fitbit.

Week 5 day 3 is officially done!
-
Week 5 day 2 complete! A little intimidated for the notorious week 5 day 3, but I have been able to complete every workout so far, so I'm gearing up for success!
-
Finished week 4 today. So far, so good. Anxious about next week, but have been able to complete all weeks so far.

I log as cardio, but have used a heart rate monitor, is I know my calories burned. I had to manually add it to my exercises. I suppose you could log as circuit training.
-
Great job! That's a fast time too, isn't it? I hope I'll be there someday!

It's fun to see the number, but is not a reliable predictor.
-
I wore a heart monitor and logged as cardio.

Week 4 day 1 all done today!
-
Week 3 done! I even ran the last walk bit for a total of 6 whole minutes in a row jogging! Thanks for the post mscastillo, it's a good one.

I can get 2 servings whole wheat spaghetti, 10 turkey meatballs, sauce, and Parmesan for 755 calories. I do it often, it's spaghetti and meatball diet!
-
Week 3D1 complete! I was afraid I couldn't run for 3 minutes straight, but I did it!

I live in Florida. I'm doing the program outside at night or I wake at 0600 to do it. If the sun is up all the way, forget it.

I just started, too. Finished week one, and starting week 2. I am not a runner, never have been. I still worry that I am too large to do this, but I'm giving it a shot! Good luck to all.
-
Just finished week 1. I have never tried to run before. When I'm done, I feel good, but I don't enjoy the running portions here. I barely make it through 60 seconds. We will see what next week brings!

If you are getting that high of an adjustment, consider that you have counted your base activity too low. I get about 300 cal adjustment if I go 12,000 steps.

Great job having the strength to,post this. We are here to support you. I liked your post, and I know it will motivate others to be honest to themselves, too.

This is a great NSV! It's good to know you don't have to eat everything on the plate. Congrats!

Thanks for the inspiring post. Progress is progress, and you have nothing to be ashamed of! Good luck in your journey.

This is weird. I haven't really had any trouble without my gallbladder. Had it out 2/2012. The gallbladder stores the bile, in its absence the liver will continue to make the bile, without the bladder, you just don't store as much bile.

My polar FT4 did that. Once I replaced the battery in the watch and in the strap, it worked like a champ again. Mine was just over a yea old.. I'm sure the battery life depends on how often you use it and the duration of use.
