I think any change that is a healthy one, that is going to get you towards your goal is a step in the right direction. I personally love soup however just remember that they can pack a lot of calories too, so try to stick with broth base one that have lots of veggies, and protein

When I hit a plateau I got myself a Heart rate monitor(Polar FT4) and a food scale that way I could be exact with my numbers. I'm not sure if you have either of these but I would recommend buying them. I hope this helps

Since I was making all the food I built the recipes the night before and put my meal into my diary ahead of time that way I knew what I was looking at I managed to stay within my calories and enjoy a wonderful meal with my family

Fiber, Fiber, Fiber make sure you are getting enough the amount needed on a daily basis is more than what MFP recommends. If you are a coffee drinker that is suppose to help I don't drink coffee but my friends swear by it
