  • Just purchased two for my wife and I. I'll let you know how it goes.
  • You obviously know what you're talking about due to your success. I just have to say that while biologically it may work, psychologically it makes it hard for me to lose weight. I feel guilty, I then under eat which is bad, and exercise too much. Then cheat again and repeat the cycle. I also noticed that if I wanted…
  • So my experience has been that cheat days make it harder for me. Maybe not everyone but for me, deffinately. I no longer do them but I may go over my calories sometimes and that's ok. I agree with those who say this is about changing a lifestyle. When I get to my ideal weight i don't want my lifestyle to be "once a week I…
  • Ok so this may seem weird but it is actually not bad. I use to mix my favorite sugar free jello packet with sugar free cool whip and then freeze it. It is almost like ice cream. I no longer do this because I try not to eat chemicals at all any more, but it was tasty!
  • ok, just bought two FitBits for my wife and I. Why am I the only guy that seems interested in tracking his activity level throughout the day? Oh well...
  • I eat baby carrots for a mid morning snack nearly every day (at least for the past week). I eat them slowly. It will take me about 30 min to eat a little over a cup of baby carrots. I notice that before I'm halfway through my stomach is growling like I haven't eaten in weeks. I initially thought it was because I was hungy…
  • I was wondering the same, Body Bugg or FitBit
  • I loved that show! Have it on DVD
  • First thing in the morning (usually around 5:30 i'm on the treadmill/elliptical). Sometimes I'll do a light workout in the evenings while reading a book.
  • I found this helpful.. http://www.simplyshredded.com/50-rules-of-fat-burning-simplyshredded-com-collects-the-strongest-clinical-research-from-around-the-world.html
  • I drink a minimum of 4 24oz bottles a day and about 7-8 8oz cups of tea a day (usually green or herbal). I keep them seperate but I think I could actually count my tea as water. I have to use the restroom about every 30 minutes. I stop drinking water after dinner and don't drink tea after 8pm to prevent waking in the…
  • LOL, I would guess no one knows b/c there are no posts. I don't know the answer to this quesiton but would love to. I wear a HRM and have found that my HR has decreased doing the same workouts. I'm training for a 5k and never really used the HRM to determine anything but see how hard my body is working. I don't back off if…
  • You're right, you can eat all the sugar you want and never gain an ounce of fat....
  • Just a guess but i think he meant how is it stored as fat, not how you know. Either way sugar in fruit does get stored as fat if not used same as any other sugar. The great thing is that natural sugar from fruit takes longer to convert to glucose where the refined sugar from sweets gets into the system much more quickly,…
  • Also, just for clarification, on my Run intervals should I really push or go for an easy pace? I've seen people say "if you can't hold a conversation then you need to slow down". I just dont' feel like I'm getting much better if I run slower. Thoughts?
  • I like that I can listen to pandora so if my mood changes I can change my music to something that isn't on my phone. It also rewards you with badges and such. I thought I wouldn't care about that but I can't wait to get my next badge. It also makes it easy to share on FB.
  • I have a few that I like but the one I use is "5k Runner". I have an iphone and i'm not sure if it is available on Android. It also wasn't free but only about $.99. I love it, it gives me something to work toward instead of "Ok, time to run". Best of Luck!
  • Bump is when you post to bump this thread back to the top of the forum. When people don't post for a while it will get burried in all the new posts that may not be as good. So people will post "Bump" if they like it and want it to be at the top.
  • um, only about 15% of combined income pre tax. I live in DC Metro but we're getting a sweet deal. Walk to work in 5 min. WIll move soon b/c will try to have a baby this year.
  • I have been here many times. I'll tell you what has made a difference for me to get motivated is I have something I'm working toward. I signed up for a 5k and I'm going to finish. I have an app on my phone that helps me train. It gives me a purpose. Once you start running (it will hurt at first) but you truly do start to…
  • MFP says more than 1200 cals for me but I am a bigger and a guy. My wife is doing it as well and it says 1200 for her. This diet/exercise routine sounds almost exactly like mine (good green tea is great for you and keeps hunger away) but I also add a 2oz wheatgrass juice shot and 8-12oz of ABC (apple beet carrot) juice a…
  • Sorry, I can't add much to help but I just wanted to agree and say this is something I've been wondering as well. Do I have to eat the additional calories I burn?
  • Great story, and just what I needed to hear today. I've recently started and I've been doing well but have a long way to go. I have found the joy of running and I'm training for a few races now. I have been under my calories pretty much every day and then I had one day that I was over and gained a bunch of weight back. It…

  • I started my training for my first 5k last week and I went from barely being able to do 1/2 a mile (week bones from not running and burning shins) to doing two training exercises a day at over 2mi each. It's true what people say, running is addictive. I have a 5k app on my phone that tells me when to walk/run and it is…
