I love my body. I just don't love what it looks like.

Okay, maybe stating that carbs are dangerous and eating bread can make you gain weight are not entirely true statements if you take them exactly as typed, but this woman does not deserve the unbelievable amount of sarcasm that her post has generated. She simply was sharing something that is working for her and her family,…

You say that no one cares about you (which is probably the negativity talking), but remember that the most important person that needs to care about you is YOU! Show yourself you care and don't give up.

I laughed out loud.

Me too! Good luck to all the 40+ foxes!

I noticed this too, and figured out that in order for me to lose 2 pounds a week by the MFP projections, my calories would actually have to be below 1200. Since my calories were set at the minimum 1200, I actually can't lose quite that much even though that is what I tried to do with my settings. So, I set it at 1.5 pounds…

I just have to say that I'm surprised to see so many responses from people on this site who seem think it's acceptable to judge and categorize obese people. As to the debate about fat people causing insurance rates to go up; I could also point out that hospitals having to cover anyone who is uninsured (including the poor,…

I weighed myself on Friday, no weight loss - sad. I weighed myself on Saturday, lost 2 pounds - happy. I don't really think that all the weight loss occurred between Friday and Saturday, unfortunately that's the nature of the beast. A lot happens in your body during a day's time.

I'm glad you were able to find the motivation to start some new healthy habits, but there is no excuse for a doctor to humiliate you. It's unnecessary, unprofessional, and can lead to more destructive behavior by the person who feels even lower than they did before those hurtful words were said.

I was wondering the same thing.

Try AmLactin lotion twice a day. My doctor recommended it and it works really well.

This is what worked for me. I even stopped putting sweetener of any kind in my coffee, just a little half and half. After a few months, I'm able to have an occasional chocolate and not push my sweet tooth into overdrive.

Wow. Your wife is truly blessed to have had such a wonderful and loyal friend. I, however, am now an emotional wreck.

It's good that you've identified foods that lead to binges and are doing what you need to do to be in control. My concern is your statements about not eating food that tastes good or getting any pleasure from eating. Healthy food can taste good and be enjoyed at every meal without being the cause of a binge. Also, I would…

5 pounds is a good amount of weight to lose in a month, averaging over 1 pound per week. Be proud!

You were right about one thing, women sure are catty.

I don't mind when someone offers advice or talks about what has worked for them, but when they imply that their way is the ONLY way it should be done then I really can't take them seriously. Anyone who is even a little bit informed knows that there are more ways to accomplish fitness and weight loss than can be counted.

Good advice...enjoy the party, just know your limit before you go.

It doesn't sound like that is what she is suggesting at all. She was saying what works for her, not what anyone else should do.
-
I totally agree with this.

Yep, she's a little irritable without her cookies.

Way to go, you can do it!

I haven't eaten McD's lunch or dinner items in years, but I will never quit the breakfast menu!

80 pounds gone, you look great! Congrats!

It's certainly difficult when your personal support system is less than supportive. But, this site seems to be the place to make some new supportive friends! Only you can decide what goals make sense for you, and if you believe you can do it, then you can. That said, it may help if you know ahead of time what you'll do if…
