  • Magnets from places we've traveled...although word got out and now we have magnets from where other people have traveled as well.
  • You look amazing! :)
  • Happy birthday! Well done! You look fabulous!
  • The first day I did C25k, I thought I was never going to finish. The run intervals seemed impossible. Every muscle hurt and I could hardly breathe. The next day, I couldn't move without pain. BUT, as I got stronger, it didn't hurt as much. I could run longer, and my lungs no longer ached. YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!! If you need…
  • When I first started C25k, my son was very happy to be in the stroller. It was a bit harder on the hills, so I had to find places to run that were more flat, but that was the only problem I had. One bonus...kids grow a little bit each day, so each day you work a little harder :)
  • Amazing!
  • I found an amazing thrift store in my area, and plan on taking some of my old (some hardly worn, like dresses) there to consign, then picking up a couple "new to me" pants to get me through until I hit my goals.
  • I got this recipe here, but it didn't quite turn out to be "bars"....delicious cake, though! 1 box Angel Food cake 1 can (20oz) light cherry pie filling Oven 350. Mix ingredients and pour into a 9x13 in pan, bake 30 min. Allow to cool. Makes 24 servings @88 cal.
  • My mom was a single mom of two, and the greatest gift she gave us was the gift of innocence. It wasn't until I was an adult that I understood how hard she worked to support us, how close we were to the edge. Everything was an adventure, and we did very few things that cost money. We'd get books at the library and picnic…
  • Spaghetti tacos are on the menu at my son's school. No wonder he packs his lunch!
  • Oohh...I definitely want to try this!
  • I'm a big fan of my crock pot. Most recipes make at least one more serving than my family needs, so I freeze it for a quick lunch whenever I need it. Otherwise, I just make an extra serving or two of whatever I'm making to freeze.
  • Whenever I make dinner, I make extras and freeze in single serving containers, then label with contents and calorie info. That way I always have something I can eat without thought. I also love 1/4 c of egg substitute in the microwave on a toasted English muffin with a wedge of Laughing Cow cheese...very quick and yummy!

  • Happy dance for you! YAY! :)
  • I brew decaf green tea (6 bags) and peach herbal tea (2 bags) in my iced tea pot to make 2 quarts of iced tea, and I drink about a quart a day. I tried it with lemon and one other flavor, but preferred the peach.
  • Nope...you can have 'em. I'm very sad to realize my butt has gone missing, though. Maybe I could take some fat from up top and move it down to where it's needed!
  • That's AWESOME! I'm so excited for you!!!!!!
  • I know exactly how you feel! I had a great routine, I worked out every day during my son's naptime, and was good for a while, then on the Friday before Easter, I started running a low fever that ran until Monday, and although I tried to get back into working out, I just couldn't get seem to find my rhythm again. I kept my…
  • Great job, Angie! You look amazing!
  • In the past, I have always set weight loss goals by the calendar, and as I've gotten older, I haven't had much success with it. Now I have an end goal, but no weekly/monthly goals to get there. I reward myself every 5 lbs, with little things...my favorite reward is pulling out the bucket of "too small" clothes to find out…
  • We eat the same thing. I try very hard to pick things that everyone likes, and try new recipes 2-4 times a month (I aim for one new recipe a week). We all get a vote on whether or not a new recipe is a "keeper" or not, and there have definitely been some that weren't, and on those nights the boys (ages 2 & 7) can have some…
  • When I'm planning my calories for the day, I always leave some for the end of the day for something chocolate. I put my sons to bed, then relax and have my dessert. Knowing that it's there and I will have it later makes it easier to resist other things during the day!
  • Don't give up! Have you talked with your doctor about any issues you may be having that could hinder weight loss? Lots of things can make it hard to lose weight: PCOS, thyroid problems, etc. Maybe he/she could help you come up with a nutrition plan that would work better? There are so many things to try before you give…
  • When my oldest son was born, I went from teaching full time to teaching music 3 days a week, but when he was 6 months old, we moved with my husband's job and it was too far to commute to the sitter's and school, so I became a SAHM. When he was 18 months old, I began babysitting a friend's little boy a few days a week to…
  • I'm a :) woo-hoo! Nice! Very nice! and Sweet! kinda friend...thinking I should mix it up more. I like that word of the day idea...
  • I am just going back to work as a substitute teacher, so my schedule is inconsistent. I have a 2 boys (almost 3 and almost 8) and sometimes being Mommy pushes being Jennifer to the back burner! Feel free to add me!
  • Welcome! I've been here about 3months, and am 1 pound away from my halfway point. Feel free to add me!
  • I was also diagnosed with costochondritis when I was about 23....started exercising more and haven't had any flare-ups since!
