  • I plan on doing the Frederick Half Marathon in May and the Boilermaker(15k) in July. Debating doing either a 10k or 5k in April at Antietam Battlefield.
  • Feel free to add me... I am 35 with 3 boys(almost 11, 8.5 and almost 6). I am down to my last couple of pounds to lose... my weight has been up and down over the past years and this past year I made up my mind to get serious again. This site has been wonderful for me!
  • My oldest ran his first 5k with me when he was 10. He did fine and if he wanted to walk some of it we did. Personally I think it's great your child wants to run with you. There is nothing wrong with it!
  • I am a runner too! Debating running a half in May and definitely a 15 in July. Feel free to add me!
  • The coldest I have had to run in is around 30 degrees (and that was in october!) I love underarmour cold gear. I have tights and a shirt that I wear under a regular shirt and pants. I also just bought cold gear gloves that work really well.
  • I want to say that the footpod is for either indoors or when satellites are iffy.... anyone can feel free to correct me though :-) Glad you enjoyed the link!
  • I have a foot pod however, I do all of my running outside and have always had good gps signal and have never had to use the foot pod. It looks like starting with the garmin 410 that they have used a slightly different algorithm for calculating calories based on your heart rate.…
  • This for me too!! I started c25k on the treadmill and when I took it outside I had to go back to week 4 or 5 and go from there. Treadmill running is so different from outdoor running. I love running outside. I will do the elliptical during the week when its dark and run outside on the weekends during the day.
  • On my short runs I can run a mile in 8:30 minutes. My best 5 k race was just this Thanksgiving at 28:17 (a 9 minute mile) On my training runs of 3 miles I can average 8:30 minute mile. I have run: 15k - 1:37 (10:23 mile) HM - 2:16 (10:21 mile) 10K - 1:02 (10 mile) When I am not training for a race I run around 15 miles a…
  • GREAT JOB!!!
  • 132 5'2.5" size 6 in most things... medium tops
  • Do the race. I always meet people when I race alone. I like it.
  • I added you... everyone else can feel free to add me too. I have been running for almost 2 years. Just completed my first half in October.
  • Great job! My first 5k time was 32 ish minutes a couple of years ago weighing almost 140 pounds. I can run them now in 26:30 - 27 minutes. Running is an addiction!

  • Feel free to add me too! Did a half marathon back in October. I have been running for almost 2 years.
  • I am so close... I have decided to stop fretting over it until after the holidays. I am working on maintaining for now. I feel great and fit into size 6 pants - 4's if I really want to squeeze in them. Since I have been running for almost 2 years, I feel like I am a healthy 132.
  • I am 5' 2" and my goal weight is 130 pounds. I am 2 pounds away.
  • To see which is accurate maybe try weighing a 5 pound weight or something that you know the weight of. Make sure that the scale is level. Sometimes mine reads off when I have something ever so slight under it. I have a weight watchers scale - I think it was 20 ish dollars a few years back. It is pretty accurate. Usually…
  • I like shopping at roadrunnersports.com and I just recently bought a pair of under armour cold gear compression tights. I have not had a chance to wear them as it hasn't been real cold yet - but I really like a pair of regular pants I bought (I think they were all season pants) from under armour. One of my friends swears…
  • I didn't really do anything different the day of the race than what I did while training. I would just stick to what you are used to.
  • Congrats.. that is awesome!!!
  • I use runtastic and like it. However I downloaded runtastic almost 2 years ago when it was a free app of the day. I have heard good things about adidas micoach and it is free.
  • I am in the eastern panhandle of West Virginia - not too far from northern Virginia and Frederick County, Md. Lots of rain so far and wind is picking up. Jefferson County schools and Frederick County MD schools are closed tomorrow. So hopefully you will be too.
  • I am doing a turkey trot!! My first turkey trot as well... I have done many 5ks though.
  • I used this http://www.marathonrookie.com/half-marathon-training.html It worked well for me. Good luck!!
  • I am jealous too! Probably a half in May, the Boilermaker in July and a couple of 5ks sprinkled in.
  • Feel free to add me... I will come back later and probably add a bunch of you all too! I have been running for almost 2 years and just ran my first half marathon a couple of weeks ago.

  • Started and finished C25k almost 2 years ago(in January - my only new years resolution I kept! ) and just ran my first half marathon last week! Yep I love running now. It took me about 9 months to really love it and feel the runners high. However I really liked the way my body was changing and looking, so I stuck…
  • Feel free to add me. The most important thing is to remember this has to be a lifestyle change, not just a diet. Make sure you can live with any changes to your diet that you make. I need to "watch" what I eat by logging it. My eating habits aren't that bad, it's just making sure I don't over eat and not eat when I am not…
  • I find a lot of walkers or those who do running/walking intervals at most of the 5k's I run. Then again, most of the 5k's in my area are raising money for something.
