  • So I woke up super early today and came home to see a speech from Paul Farmer. It was a long trip but it was worth it. Got a nice walk in this morning and did a half hour on the wii fit. However, since I ate breakfast on the run and it was a bacon, egg, and cheese bagel :ohwell: I'm going to have to take the dog for a walk…
  • Good afternoon everyone! Didn't wake up for breakfast today. Not a good start to the week. I also didn't eat well for lunch so my goal is to finish some stat work, clean my room, and hit up the gym. Whether I have time for all of that has yet to be seen. I go home tomorrow morning to see Paul Farmer who is speaking in my…
  • Good afternoon everyone! This weather has made me so happy and hence, I have been out wondering around the streets of PSU all weekend. It is the start of day-long season which is good in some respects and bad in others. I went way over in calories on Friday due to alcohol. Saturday, however, my friend and I got lost,…
  • Missed my breakfast this morning-- I was doing so well, too. So my goals for the day are ... Drink my water. Stay within calories. Get some work done. I really need to get back to the gym. Tues. Thurs. are not the best for this since I'm in class and running around campus all day but if I magically find time I would like…
  • Good afternoon everyone! Well I missed my getting up early today before class but I did manage to have enough time to grab a Naked juice which is better than nothing for breakfast. It's a nasty day out and I have lots of work to do... yuck. So anyway, goals for the day are... Drink all my water (a little behind already but…
  • Mary-- that's awesome and I might be talking to you for advice. I don't want to go completely vegetarian but I do want to go without meat 2-3 times a week. V-- I have not had mono, although some are speculating that I have it now which is not good. I have, however, had many friends with it, being that I'm at PSU and beer…
  • So I ate vegetarian today and boy was it harder than I thought it would be BUT I am proud of myself for doing it. Can't say that I was the healthiest due to easter candy I have left over but I limited it pretty well. Drank all my water. I didn't do all of my errands, however, and I didn't make it to the gym. :(. I tried…
  • Good morning everyone! V, my fingers are crossed, good luck!! Well it was super hard but I was up at 8:30 today after saying I would be up by 8. That's an hour before I usually wake up so I'm pretty happy with that. Goals for today: Back to drinking water, not soda. Vegetarian menu today after all the ham I ate over the…
  • Hey everyone! I hope everyone had an awesome Easter. I did pretty well this weekend for it being a holiday. Did the wii fit both days and didn't eat as much as I usually do on the holidays. I have a goal for the week. Get up early every day and catch up in my lit class (I'm about 3 classes behind). Nicole
  • Keep at it! And drink water! If you don't drink enough water your body actually holds on to water when you drink it. Not a good thing. Also, when it comes to always being hungry ... try 5 small meals a day, if possible. And sometimes you just have to push through your hunger or eat something with fewer calories such as…
  • Hello everyone! As excited as I am to be home for Easter, smelling all of the delicious cooking is making me nervous. I did the wii fit today for about 40 minutes. My goal for the day is simply to take smaller portions than I usually do at family meals. Hopefully that works for me. Good luck on this lovely holiday everyone…
  • Hello everyone! Well ... since I sunburned Sunday, it snowed Monday/Tuesday, it was cold yesterday and today it's sunny and warm I am very confused, however, I will be out walking a lot today so ... it's a good thing. Doing good on food so far although I didn't get up for breakfast which is becoming a not so good habit.…
  • So I went to weigh in today and my scale is broken... lovely. So I don't have a weigh in and I haven't been doing well already today. Good news is Im pretty sure I rocked my exam! And it snowed here the other day too. I have sunburn from Sunday and it was snowing ... makes no sense at all... lol. My goal today is to finish…
  • Thanks Deanea good to be back! V, I hope you get to the doctor and feel better soon! MM, I'm in the same boat right now! I did so good today and then all of a sudden at about 9:30 I had an intense craving for chips and dip ... and I wasn't even hungry. But I was all antsy until I ate them! That's why I fell off the wagon…
  • If your gym has a pool or if your community has a pool. Swimming is awesome exercise. It's a full body workout, too which is good. I actually just read an article about the top 10 cardio workouts and I don't remember all of them and it's at home but I know running, biking, elliptical, and swimming were all high up there.
  • Sorry I've been MIA for about a week. I slipped off the wagon ... not as bad as I have done in the past since I wasn't continuously eating and I was fairly active but I was eating what I wanted for my meals but today is weigh in day so I thought it was a good day to step back up. Unfortunately with 2 exams I have no time…
  • Good morning everyone! Been gone for a little bit, I know. I didn't get too far off with the calories part, just the exercise. I've been so busy. Yesterday was supposed to be weigh in but I'm going for it today. Todays goals are to log my calories, ace my exam and go to all my classes since Im feeling a little tired. Nicole
  • Well, I completely fell off the wagon the past few days. Well, Tuesday i was good until after the hockey game we went to when my big (like my role model in the frat) decided that we should all go play some beer pong and I'd be a bad little if I didn't go. Darn peer pressure. So then yesterday I couldn't wake up and ate…
  • Wow did not do well today. Met none of my goals ... except maybe the water. Back on track tomorrow.
  • http://www.1stholistic.com/Reading/health/health-eat-fat-to-burn-fat.htm You might want to read this. You need fat to burn fat ... not much of it ... but you do need some. Good luck on the journey. Also, make sure you look up scientific articles on what's bad for you vs. what's good for you. A lot of things go around and…
  • Good morning everyone!! It's a new week and I'm hoping the beautifulness that is outside my window will hold. Today I plan on: Drinking all my water. Staying within calorie range. Getting to the gym for at least 30 min. or taking a walk outside. Actually studying for once in my life ... it's becoming a necessity. lol. Hope…
  • So ... I had 500 calories left over today ... no clue how so I got to eat some lovely potato chips and french onion dip. SO good. And I did my weigh in and I'm about 3 pounds down so far. I'm not changing it in my log though just in case it's a fluke. lol
  • Hey everyone! I did good on the eating part yesterday, didn't work out though. I weigh in tonight ... so I'm a little nervous but here are the goals for the day. Stay within calorie limit. Catch up in my statistics class. If I get caught up I would like to hit the gym. It's going to take longer to go and get back this week…
  • Hi everyone! Didn't do so well yesterday. Walked all the way to the gym to find it closed and for some reason just couldn't stop eating yesterday. I took comfort in the fact that I was snacking on fruits and had about 350 calories left when I did this ... however, then I went out last night. I think I drank all the…
  • Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day. I find that if I eat a breakfast high in protein and calories I eat better throughout the day. My favorite is omelets. If I'm in a hurry though i'll have some cereal, hopefully with some kind of fruit in it. Nicole
  • Welcome aboard and good luck!
  • I would go to your doctor about this. There is probably a way, however, it would be extreme and should probably be monitored. 1-2 lbs a week is the healthy way to go which would only be about half way to your mark. Your doctor could probably give you a healthy way to go and could make sure that you are getting everything…
  • Good morning everyone! Goals for today: Stay a little under in calories: I'm going out tonight and plan on having a good time so a little cushion would be nice. A big thing will be not going to McDonald's at 2am on my way home. Drink all my water. Get all my errands done-- and I have a lot of them. Get to the gym. Nicole
  • Be really careful you don't go into starvation mode. You could hit a plateau and not keep losing. The number of calories they give you to eat is under what you burn in a typical day. It will keep you losing at a steady pace. For example, my body burns about 1500 calories a day. They have me eating 1200. A little bit of a…
  • Do you have an active lifestyle? That does seem like a lot but it could be that you burn a lot throughout the day and they are trying to keep you from going into starvation mode in which you will not lose any weight.
