Today I am doing W4D3. I have been doing it outside except for two times I used the treadmill. W4D1 was rough outside. The neighborhood I live in is quite hilly and trying to do 5 minutes at a time up hill was not easy. I did W4D2 on the treadmill and of course it was so much easier. From this point on most of my time will…

I use all three of these also.

I don't think the Zip is able to detect floors. I have the One.

If you are on a machine you can either adjust the calories to what the machine suggested (not very accurate), use an online calories burn calculator or wear a HRM. I love my FB and wear it everyday. It is very accurate from what I have noticed.
-
If I remember correctly you have to go up 10 feet at a time for FB to add a "floor" to your counter. You should be able to change the calories burned to what you actual burned instead of using what FB suggested. Does this help?

I was at Wendy's and I wanted that burger so badly but instead I got the Berry Almond Chicken Salad. After ready these posts about how good it is I might have to go try it.

My MFP is currently showing a Fitbit adjustment of 231 calories that should be added to my day. This is from normal daily activities so I am not sure why I would eat those back. I don't understand why MFP wants us to eat them and Fitbit doesn't. Very confusing.
-
MFP adds a Fitbit adjustment based on how many steps you have taken for the day. It shows up under exercise. I am still confused as to which one to follow though.

I have always found figuring out portions/calories to be very confusing. I buy the 100 calorie bags now. One bag=one serving=100 calories.

I am so sorry you have to deal with this horrible disease. My daughter was diagnosed with Crohn's at 13. She is now 18 and still has not found the solution to make her feel better day to day. She has now started Cimzia. I know this doesn't answer the question to your post but I wanted to let you know you are not alone.

That is awesome. I knew I should have woke up early this morning to do my first day. I am going to do it after work now.
-
That is after only 17 days??? Incredible.
-
When I did it the other night with my HRM I burned 240.

Carolyn, I have been stuck at the same weight for a month also. I lost 4 pounds the first month and now NOTHING. Right now I am just trying to keep motivated. I know eating right and exercising will pay off. I wish I had some advice for you. Hang in there.

I guess what I am worried about is if I use the HRM to log workout calories and I let the Fitbit adjust like it should that I am counting some exercise twice. I think I just answered my own question about that....Is that why you put in the start time on MFP for exercise?
-
This is how I use it. If I didn't have a Fitbit I wouldn't even know about these extra calories.

Thank you. That was helpful. I appreciate all of the comments. It looks like we all use our Fitbit a little different. I guess it depends on what you want to get out of using it.
-
Thank you. I am very curious to see what the calorie burn actually is. I'm tired of guessing.

I have been wondering the same thing that past few days. Thank you for asking.

I am trying to wrap my mind around the idea that I have not been eating enough. It is a hard concept to accept when it has been pounded into our brains to cut calories. Scooby's site has my BMR at 1561, TDEE at 2420 and to lose one pound a week I should eat 1936. Looking at the numbers it makes sense that eating 1200-1300…

I agree with GauchoMark. I love my Fitbit!

I have been wanting to start and this is the motivation I need to do it. I am going to do day one when I get home from work today.
