Hi, I’m 5’2”, 147 lbs this week. I’m looking to eat healthier, although it’s the last week of school so bare with me. I’m also a picky eater so that doesn’t help. My first goal is 130 lbs. I’m not sure of my ultimate goal right now. The funny thing is when I first joined in 2012, looking to lose weight, I was 130. I’ll…

Hi fellow Serial Starter! I've logged on for 140 days but have managed to keep gain weight. Now that I am habitually logging on, I need to log my food. I started 7 years ago and got down to a decent weight, but now I am at my highest weight. However in those years I was diagnosed with Hashimotos and am now mid 40's. I want…

Can you find a low calorie cranberry juice?

Tacos are definitely on the list! :) We use ground turkey instead of ground beef. Also, plain greek yogurt instead of sour cream. We've taste tested them all and the whole family prefers the Trader Joes's taco kit the best. Great taste, but not too much spice for the kids. We haven't had them in awhile though so that's one…

I just read the first page, and I want to say, WOW! I just realized I am the most hungry during ovulation time! Funny now that since I'm done having kids and for the first time am really just learning about nutrition, my period is finally regular and I know when I ovulate! :) Good to know it wasn't all in my head.

Actually eating healthy is cheaper! A banana cost less than a candy bar, as does an apple. Since you're eating like a diabetic you would probably opt for a cheese stick. I have found that almond milk is delicious with cereal! You should really focus on proteins and vegetables, so look into the paleo diet. Best wishes!

One issue I have not seen touched upon is sugar intake. I know you say you eat clean, but fruit has a lot of sugar in it. I'm not saying stop eating fruit though. Also, what kind of breads and grains are you eating? Even whole wheat bread has a lot of sugar in it. I would recommend tracking sugar for a few weeks, along…

My favorite breakfast is Kashi 7 Grain waffles topped with plain greek yogurt and strawberries. You have to eat the strawberries with the waffles to get the effect. I can't eat them without a fruit....however with strawberries and blueberries they are delicious! It's about 200 calories for the meal.

Thanks for all the responses! Going forward from now I will log everything and I think that will help a lot. Plus the water and PMS tea. I am re-activating my gym membership tomorrow also so that will help. Tomorrow is a new day and it's going to be great. I think if I work in some chocolate into my calories if I work out,…

First off, I'm glad to hear you are doing well after a heart attack! My husband had one in July. It is scary and certainly changes everything. Secondly, great loss and congrats on your new healthy lifestyle. I've heard something about a maintenance mode on here. You will have to eat more, but continue to exercise and your…

When I left my parents, I only ate corn and potatoes. Now I eat much more of a variety, but am still learning! I LOVE roasted vegetables. Cauliflower, broccoli covered with reduced fat shredded cheese. I also like to sprinkle rosemary over roasted red potatoes, onions with baby carrots (which I can't eat raw). Stir fry…

How about breaking up the calories for the day? I like to use about 200 for breakfast, 3-400 for lunch, and 4 - 500 for dinner. That leaves 1-200 for snacks. Does that seem more doable? Editing bc I just reread your original post. Instant oatmeal made with water or almond milk for 40 calories and more taste, cheerios w/…

I'm 5'2.5" technically. When I do the program, 1200 works with me, with eating back my exercise calories. Hey I earned them! Unfortunately I've had a pretty bad year and keep falling off the wagon. I'm back on this week and really hope to get to my goal weight (120) by the end of the month!

I LOVE the Blueberry Fruit Newton Thins also!. I've also started a regimin that if I exercise I can have a small square of dark chocolate. It motivates me. :)

I totally agree! Yesterday I played soccer with my son instead of sitting down and watching him practice. It was fun, we bonded, and I burned some calories to boot!

You've been doing such a great job! I started in January and lost about 9 lbs. and gained 5 during one month of stress. Last week, I came back strong and tracking. I'm meal planning and planning my day around my exercise. I realize that can be difficult because I have a 3.5 year old, but I'm making it work somehow. Welcome…

I didn't read the article. However my mother has Alzheimer's and is in a facility that promotes the mediterranean diet. She did eat mostly "junk" food most of her life. She did not enjoy and rarely ate vegetables and fruits. I'm not looking for a cause or reason why she got it, but I am looking for a way for me to avoid…

I won't rain on your parade. I'm in! I'll post after I do them. We can do it!

Considering my husband just had a heart attack...every....single....thing. It takes me about 2 hours to grocery shop now, looking for the most heart healthy item I'm looking for.

I'm in! I'll do them tonight while watching Batchelor Pad!

I breastfed two preemies. I don't know...I wouldn't count calories or diet this early on. Your body will tell you what to do. Just make healthy choices.

Oops...nothing for April. I'm maintaining for now. If I lose, great, if I gain, I'm okay with that. My mom has been in the hospital for two months now...don't know if she'll be coming home. :(
