I weigh myself most every day, and used to record daily in an app that averaged it for me, with a weekly spreadsheet log. I kind of wish I would have kept that up, and even recorded daily... but I need to draw a line for my obsessiveness somewhere. I just had a conversation about this with a coworker on Friday, after…

Nasty weather outside, etc led to the treadmill tonight. DOMS has set in from weights yesterday, I really don't prefer the treadmill, and my Garmin and the treadmill do not agree on pace or distance. I stopped twice to stretch my calves that hurt a LOT and finally just walked. Treadmill run showed 1.22 miles; Garmin 1.53.…

Weights it is! Just a quick session as I haven't done much strength training for a while, and I didn't have a lot of time... but I know I'm going to be sore. I can't wait. :D

Haha no doubt. I love it here in the PNW!

... I just read this today, then almost ran into someone in a doorway. "Ope! Excuse me!" I haven't lived in WI for 40 years.
-
I feel like I should apologize for not participating in the weather discussion.

@girlinahat Those views are amazing! I love the mountains! Cross training day for me. I'll be taking the dogs for a walk in our 28F/-2C neighborhood shortly, then either weights or the bike tonight (maybe both?).

Congrats on completing C25K @greenolivetree! I ran again this morning, so much better than Sunday. I stopped once to adjust my hat out of my eyes and fix the headlamp, and a second time because I felt really good and as a result, was going too fast... needed to slow down my breathing. Total 2.52 miles, average pace 13:15.…

That's why I have mine, as well. I haven't experienced heart palpitations from it, that I can recall, but it was definitely something off. I used it about 10 minutes before I started running, though the fact that I still felt off hours later leads me to think it's an illness rather than specific to the inhaler. Or maybe a…

Total of 2.69 miles today. Used my inhaler that I've been neglecting before I started and felt (and still feel) light headed, though I'm not sure if that's what caused it or if I'm coming down with something. The first mile was slow and my legs felt SO heavy, and with my head the way it was, I just decided to cut it short…

Slept 10 hours last night. Oh how I needed that. Walked 4.22 miles with the dogs, then took an hour nap. What a great morning. :)

That's gorgeous!!

Ran just over 2 miles this morning, avg pace 13:39. Took a route that's typically 2.5 miles, but my soleus was objecting after about a mile so I took a shortcut that would make 2.3... then hit the hill on the way home. Walked that and decided my calf would be better if I walked the rest of the way. One of the dogs cut in…

This week is the first time I need to adjust my schedule because of "life". It's all good! I plan to run my "long run" on Sunday, with Tu/Th shorter runs. But Sunday was windy and cold so I postponed and ran my long run yesterday before work. Then last night, we picked up our youngest son and his wife from the airport at…

Plan yesterday was for 2.5 miles. It was cold and really windy, but I took the dogs out... and walked. My hip and glute had some issues I wanted to give an extra day. So this morning, 2.55 miles done. My girl stopped two or three times to smell something, but otherwise the dogs were very cooperative in running non-stop.…

I read all the posts! Well, I read every post, though maybe not every word of every post. My husband and I bought our first PC shortly after we got married. I can still hear the 300 baud modem sound. Years later, we played WoW together with his friends, our kids and their friends for YEARS! It was our family time, at least…

I'm counting this morning's walk as my cross training session, as we walked fast. Dogs present interesting challenges in keeping a consistent pace sometimes but they're still my best workout partners. Most of the time our walks are intervals of slow, really slow, stop, walk a decent pace, run... stop! Over and over again.…

Friday is a rest day for me. Currently 43F/6C with a slight wind and the forecast for my next run (Sunday) calls for rain/snow mix and "windy". Lovely. Today will be great weather for our morning walk!

So you used the max HR that Garmin showed during that 1k?
-
I appreciate this discussion! When I ran a few years ago, I was also faster. I started C25K again in October last year, and bought a Garmin Vivoactive (with music - I have the option though haven't really used it much) when it was on sale after Thanksgiving, which shows my average HR above where it 'should be'. Sometimes I…

I almost forgot, @Elise4270, many have mentioned lots of options in addition to buying internet on the plane. When we went to Hawaii, internet wasn't available on the plane. Something about being over the ocean. So download all you can and be prepared in case it is not available!

@skippygirlsmom Hugs to you both. What an ordeal, on top of all the rest. I'm glad the college signed the waiver so she can move on.

Congratulations to you, as well!

Congratulations @medmuso!

I spent a bit of time this morning reviewing yearly results since I started tracking weight, measurements, exercise, what-have-you... and using that data to renew my goals. I'll share the overall fitness goals here: 1) Run 3x per week 2) Strength train 2x per week (starting w/1x this month) 3) Walk 3-4x per week 4)…

Puzzle games? Sign me up! I bought The Room on Steam and played it for an hour and a half last night. Think I will just buy the other two right now. Thanks for mentioning them!

Scored 33 on the left vs right brained test. Yep. Think so.

Today's run was the same route as Friday's, done almost a minute faster, even with what felt like more walking breaks. But there was no ice! My original goal was 38 miles for December. I cut that back to 20 miles ... which I still didn't make with only 18.52. But I was able to run twice this week and I'm very happy about…

December miles: 12/2: 3.1 12/4: 2.51 12/6: 1.6 12/9: 2.62 12/13: 1.9 12/23: 2.13 12/28: 2.34 I've had some pains/tightness/etc from my feet, ankles and calves for a while now, have taken a lot more 'active rest days' and walked more than ran this month, so won't even be close to my original goal. I might end up with half.…

After 10 days of no running, and a 2+ mile walk with the dogs, I went back out this morning and did another 2+ miles of running. I'm hoping that my foot won't be too irritated at me tomorrow and I can return to a regular routine this week. Merry Christmas!
